An otherwise educational and relaxing camping trip with her classmates ends with a terrifying encounter in the shadows of the night forest, forcing Chise to rely on her own wits and abilities instead of Elias' magic.

Hatori Chise has lived a life full of neglect and abuse, devoid of anything resembling love. Far from the warmth of family, she has had her share of troubles and pitfalls. Just when all hope seems lost, a fateful encounter awaits her. When a man with the head of a beast, wielding strange powers, obtains her through a slave auction, Chise's life will never be the same again.

This episode embodied more of the fantasy vibes that first season had, with all the creatures, and I liked that the two creatures seen this episode, the Kelpie and Nuckalavee are actually part of Scottish folklore which is a nice touch. This was an important trip for Chise, and it's nice to see her trying to fend for herself instead of Elias always having to protect her. Hopefully this bit of training pays off as she always seems to be on someone's radar in negative way.
I will admit though, the investment that I had towards this show in first season was much stronger than it by, mostly due to second season being in a much smaller scope of the world, but nonetheless there were some nice visuals this episode to enjoy!
With that language it fits with the origin of the British from the United Kingdom 🇬🇧❤️💪🏻
The second season has a kind of a Hogwarts vibe to it.

Man, that was epic. Chise rides a kelpie for the first time while she, Elias and the college students get attacked by a dangerous one-eyed centaur. Luckily, the kelpie kicks it into the water of the Loch and its whole body fades away. What an adventure.

It's perfect for the kind of creature it is and I love that.
I honestly shouted "Oh! A kelpie!" too, just before Elias said it. Then he said it, and my mother and grandmother laughed. We were all excited for season two, and are upset at how quickly it ended.
Why are anime seasons getting so short these days? They used to be no shorter than 15-20 episodes.

I love the more folklore element in this episode. Also why do I find the kelpies voice so satisfying.
