I love this man!! Thank you for posting ~ this was incredibly helpful. My uncle used to graft all kinds of plants and fruits in a similar way. Many Thanks!
Oh! Mr. Sunao. He was a 100th Infantry Battalion veteran and who testified in my movie "Go for Broke! Memories of Hawaii Japanese Nisei". He died in 2015. I miss Sunao.
He was very interesting and complicated man, very talented with plants. His brother Tom too who was agenius with vanilla and started a whole industry here for it.
Quick question - when grafting 2 different hibiscus colors such as a yellow with a pink, will they produce a flower that is a multi-colored flower or will it produce flowers that are solid (all pink and all yellow) but growing together on the same bush?
this is not my area of expertise but Im pretty sure if you but two scion on the same root stock you'll get two different color flowers.. they pay cross pollinate at sometime I suppose
If you try to sound out and try ot use google translate, maybe it will help. good luck
Something like that. Get the gist?
+Maxime De Clercq He is using as rootstock a healthy and strong grower tropical hybrid, probably this one muchaplanta.blogspot.com.es/2013/11/hibiscusxarnottianus.html or a similar one.
