- Welcome to the latest episode of Big Trip! Today I am at Micheldever on the South Western Main Line where services are seen by South Western Railway and CrossCountry.
Micheldever was a lovely station to film with good scenery all around and very good passing trains throughout. The station's views were fantastic as there were good curves coming from the Basingstoke direction and you can hear the trains approaching from Winchester from a fair way away. The station has minimal facilities but seems to be well looked after and has a lovely stone paving across the station. The amount of freight was brilliant with it going through at brilliant speeds and quite frequently too. Overall, a very enjoyable little station, well worth the visit to although it doesn't serve a massive area!

Great video sorry I missed the premiere once again
Thanks bud. You don't need to apologise. 😊
444027 with the great loud two tones from the driver. Shout out to him. 👏👏👍🙌😉🙆
Indeed!!
Wow the speeds of the passing trains are amazing!🔥
They're really something aren't they!
I know the passenger trains max out at 100 mph past that station in the Weymouth direction sometimes in the london direction. I off course measure the speed on the train all the time I ride them especially.
That’s very swift camera work Z I was amazed to see how much freight went past when in Micheldever tyres
Thank you very much.
Great video mate. Keep it up 😊👍
Thanks pal!
Awesome Video Bud :) Seems like yesterday I came through here on 444010 when I was heading to IOW back in August 2018. For the wagons I'm guessing they've been there for 5-10 years.
Thanks Rob! You're close with your answer but not close enough I'm afraid. :)
I knew the freight trains come up from Southampton, Eastleigh and Portsmouth etc and go up to the Midlands and the north. Forgive me if I am asking a silly question but how do you know exactly where up North these are going to or coming down from?
Those points are pretty bumpy on the down line!
Yes. I agree with VirginVoyager in the premier, we should install Paxman VP185s and jet engines inside the Class 66 “sheds” lol
Imagine if that happened!
I can literally see it happening in my head lol
