if lessons in behaviour were taught in schools some of these problems would be less of a problem, The fact that we do not teach people to be parents and how to resolve childhood abuse is a major factor. The BBC was always a place where people felt it was superior reporting and programming due to its history and name so those in power used it as a home for their buddies to work resulting in entitlement and abuse and this is all we see after the events have been exposed. We are all to blame for remaining silent about society and its clear problems, Boris Johnson and the conservative attitude which still is obvious in the leadership now expose how ridiculously apparent these abuses are. We need to change and empathy should lead not apathy. stop those in power from handing out favours to their friends and family and sack them instead and imprison those who have committed treason, we are missing true leaders and have settled for people with personality disorders instead Get a grip.
Huw Edwards wasn't very likable and had no real talent, but was retained on a huge salary for two decades. Jimmy Savile wasn't likable and had no real talent, nor even any interest in music, but was a BBC star over four consecutive decades. Part of the BBC's remit is supposed to be developing new talent, but this dosen't seem to be put into practice. There are too many institutionalised dinosaurs. Presenters should be turned over regularly. They shouldn't let these people become so self important and built to a position where they are too big to fail. The BBC has a monopoly so doesn't need to be popular. Why do they care whether or not these presenters are a hit with the viewers? A safe pair of hands, for a short contract, would obviously be better.
I hear what you’re both saying, I’m indifferent to him but I gather he’s intrinsically popular with blokes who are the same as him ie white, over-50, heterosexual & working-class. Whether people like it or not that still represents a huge majority of the license-fee payer.
I am pleasantly surprised and feel validated. I always felt 'triggered' watching him on 'Inside The Factory'. His presence was loud, his cackling laughter at times off timed and his coverage often times more about 'his reactions' than the matter at hand...
Doesn't exist anymore except for in concept. But to be fair there were always limits on it. It is just that what is acceptable now is not the same as it was in decades gone by and people are far more sensitive. What is clear is it is not fair to be judging someone for things they did decades before and cancelling them based on today's standards. That way is the undoing of everyone.
hmm in every show with greg though you see him always touching and hugging and flirting with the females, just watch any "in the factory" program. you'll see what I mean
I lived in his house 27 years ago as an au pair...sexually abused by him for 5 months...I can not believe, he is on BBC....this man is horrible person. Predatory.....
Greg is just a tip of the iceberg. His 'mistakes' at this point represent a society who wants to change, reset and rethink what was appropriate/acceptable at one time but it's time has passed. Greg, unlike yourself is in the public domain and hence is a good reference point of being called out by those he hurt/wronged.
When these scandals break people act as if these tv programmes are so important. They are throw away 30 minute distraction watching. Similar with Jenas. Point is if someone has crossed the line they should be fired, if not, move on. He’s not the head of state.
It's an 8 minute video and they do a few seconds clip at the start which pre-caps the discussion so it can seem a little repetitive. Chapters aren't required. Not sure what you are on about...
@@SardonicALLY Except it's not a few seconds -- it's the first minute-and-a-quarter out of a video that's only eight-and-a-quarter minutes long. So there's only seven minutes of actual content, with almost 20% of that shown twice.

I’m reminded of the dads army episode , the Capts Car where Capt Mainwaring says what do you expect the man’s a Greengrocer

Greg Wallace is very charismatic ? Which Greg Wallace is this?
Personally, I always found Gromit to be the charismatic one.

A recipe for a cheese sandwich. This is the real problem with society!!

Does he work for the BBC then?
Wallace is utterly horrendous on Inside the Factory, spoils a good programme. He's not popular!
I totally agree I don't watch it because of him
I like the buttery biscuit bass.

Guess what? You have responsibilities as well as rights. You're free to say (mostly) what you want, but saying those things might have consequences.
But its ok for savile and Rolf to have a free pass ,wow they are really getting a conscience
Moralising from a Sun lackey? The hypocrisy is staggering. And Times Radio can do no better. Jesus wept.
Repetition repetition repetition .
Murdochs mouthpiece slating the BBC what a surprise.
Aussie blowfeld and his minions are responsible for so much damage, terrible people
Lol, they delete any comment about Aussie blowfeld and the harm they caused on his behalf, and no doubt will do with this comment too. Terrible people

If the production company choose to use these people it's not the BBC's fault.
Never heard of him. 😢
He'd be out the door? Like all the other people at the BBC that sneers at the country and license payers?

I don't think we can take any moral standards from Rupert Murdoch and his minions!. Milly Dowler springs to mind.
