hi Tony, the best way l do the tops of the doorway is to board the full length of a board over doorways if possible not the width of doors, stops the least amount of cracking.
Nice job forming the stud work for the bookcase, think I might of been tempted to glue down a piece of 18mm ply to your set out lines the day before weighted down then make the stud work in frames, just different ways but both in the pursuit of perfection.👍
