With his unique style mixture of Alpine folk, jazz and rock music, he is incomparable to any other artist in this region. One of the most remarkable things: Hubert von Goisern never repeats himself. You never know what you'll get - you only know it's exceptionally good. Just Goisern.
Hubert von Goisern's success began in 1992 with his "Alpinkatzen" band. In 1994, a tour to Austin, Texas and New York brought him to live audiences in the US for the first time. The following years were ones of musical experiments for HvG. He produced a film about famous scientist Jane Goodall and dived deep into African folk music. One year later, he recorded an album with Tibetan singers and musicians.
Over the years, Hubert von Goisern has played hundreds of concerts in 24 countries, on almost every continent. He travelled to Africa many times, played in front of 15,000 people when he joined the Egyptian singer Mohamed Mounir on stage in Assiut, Egypt in 2002. His largest project was undoubtedly the Linz Europe Tour 2007-2009. Over two years, Hubert von Goisern travelled Europe's rivers with a ship convoy. He was host to some of the most famous European artists (Zap Mama; Xavier Naidoo; BAP; Klaus Doldinger; Rambo Amadeus and many more), inviting them to play on the ship's stage. In 13 countries, more than 200,000 people saw Hubert von Goisern, his band and guests live on stage. The Linz Europe Tour was the best proof that music can make it happen: cultures can connect via the universal language of sound.
When the project was finished, Hubert soon re-invented himself once again. After playing his most successful tour ever with an audience of more than 300,000, and after reaching platinum status with the sales of his latest CD (making a total of 10 gold and 6 platinum awards), he started exploring the U.S. once again. Feeling a connection between Austrian and American folk music, Hubert travelled to Nashville to explore the similarities - and the differences. The result? His CD "Federn" and more than 75 concerts playing an America-inspired live show. The most intriguing thing? It just fits. Hubert von Goisern has the gift of making music work.
