SCRAPPING MEANS: KNOWLEDGE ......loving metals.....awernes of metals value....knowledge how to do things.....fulling your time with things useful an nice....and before all this........meeting you lovely folks........scrapping folks
Hello Gil pretty cool video. Is it the same as someone stealing pipes to sale? Maybe that was a crazy question lol look forward to more thank you for sharing! Peace&blessings❤
I dont know the laws of the US, Gil. But in the UK, those different oils and fluids envountered - say when scrapping a vehicle for instance - all need disposing of separately, properly and officially. Having watched non scrapping neighbours simply pour their engine oil down the street drain when doing an oil change, in the past, it does make me wonder how many "home scrappers" fail to dispose of their fluids properly. Which begged the question within me - and I think it may help those considering doing similar projects at home - "How do you getr rid of your oils etc that you encounter when scrap[ping"?? After all, if the recycling side and "heping the planet" is a par of your motivation for scrapping, you wont want to be causing more harm than good. And no, thats not being sacastic, but may be something you wish to bring up in a future video, Always assuming you havent covered this in one of your many others of course. Even if a reminder message wouldn't hurt. I haven't "scrapped" since 2009. But prior to that I worked in a breakers yard cutting up old semi's / lorries etc. Engines, gear boxes and most resaleable parts were kept intact and sold as they were. But even so, the amounts of chassis's, copper, aluminium etc would add up to some serious money for me at times and see me going home with 3 or 4 times the amount of money in my back pocket, from staying behind 3 or 4 hours of an evening or getting to work 2 hours early etc, than what my wages would have given me. Now for me personally, I wasn't too concerned about the eco issues. I was doing it for money, pure and simple. The heavy iron belonged to the boss, but as a "bonus" all the non ferrous stuff was mine. But it as on the condition that I cleaned it properly and didnt just cash it in for a quick and easy buck, so to speak. Would I do scrapping again? Highly unlikely. But only because I live in "social housing" and if I started doing this in the garden, I would be booted out faster than you read my comment! Keep up the great work and good luck on Saturday :D
EXCELLENT QUESTION!! And you are right, alot of people do NOT dispose of there oils properly which give us scrappers a bad name at times. I collect and then give any oil I get to the town of Bangor for recycling. They take it for free so their is no additional charge to me accept the gas the get there. LOL
I appreciate your feedback. Every scrapper is different in the way they handle materials. One persons "easy peasy" could be a major pain in the ass for the next person. It's all work, it's a simple matter of how in-depth you want to get into it.
Night shame was talking bad about you guys and mentioning that support for support is bullcrap, he commented on his latest stream. I asked him for support and he hated it

Excellent Bob, do you get much where the decision is not to scrap but to renovate and sell on?
