I think this would be a great way for people new to cube/inexperienced drafters to try their hand and cube draft: It allows you to help less experienced players work through their picks. I find often times when playing with people new to magic, they're overwhelmed by the sheer amount of cards. With this draft style, everyone can openly discuss their picks. Very cool, I'd love to try this with my friends once the pandemic is over. Thanks for another great video!
100% new drafters to cube are frequently overwhelmed with the cards all being high quality, and they are unsure what a bomb is, or how to read the cube archetypes. Talking through picks would definitely help new drafters, and the more success they have, the more likely they are to come back and draft again.
1. I cube mostly 1v1. Either with my wife or my neighboor. for sure will try it out. Pankake Was A hit. It allowed more interesting decisions than Winston. 2. Audio quality improved. Great job and you had A guest speaker:) 3. I must say that your channel is my favorite among cube content. And There are so many great out there.
You could try setting up for 4 people, then you and your draft partner could draft 2 decks each. This would give you more play/matchups when you are done. Also, thank you for your help with the audio. I am glad it sounds better.
I wonder if you have to have the ENTIRE cube on the table at the begining. you could start with the 2 cards out and then fill in from the cube where the cards WOULD be on the grid (at least until the cube runs out of cards). could reduce set up time. Great Idea for a format though!
Actually, you do NOT put the whole cube out. Just 45 cards per person drafting. It’s easier to set up all at once. As drafting happens, holes appear and it would be incredibly difficult to add cards each time one is flipped.
I think there were some noticeable differences when I heard it from Solely Singleton. I tried it by: only ever dealing 90 cards at a time, regardless of player count (have only tried it with 4 players though), using 90 cards per player, vice 45, discarding all cards when that pack is half way expended (so the card pool is twice as large, but only half are drafted), and allowing the outside ring of the grid to be revealed initially, in addition to the middle 2. I think this helps by giving more selection and consuming less table space. I do love this style of drafting for smaller groups. The draft is very fun when you can harass your friends in real time.
We have decided we like it best, even when there are just 2 of us, to set up for 4 drafters and draft 2 decks each. Then we have more matchups to play when we are done.
We tried this over the weekend and we had a blast. This will probably will become our go-to. 45 each (just two of us) out of 360 cards seemed low to us so we found 12x13 grid maxed out our table and was more than enough to get powerful, focused decks. The conflict of taking a card so not to flip a good card to the other drafter(s) was surprisingly complex.
It is very much like I said, I love doing it, I would not want to do it every time. I can see doing it a couple of time a year, depending on how often your playgroup drafts.

@@cubefortwo cool idea
This is some absolute nonsense. I love it so much.
it is 100% nonsense in the best way.

Definitely going to try this! Also, mrs Cubefortwo is doing a boss job of cohosting. :D
More ways to cube? Yes please. Keep the great content coming!
This format seems especially fun for 2 player drafts, i will try this out for sure

I will draft like this with my playgroup after quaratine! Great unique way to restart drafting.

I am so glad to hear that, and yes there are definetly moments where you don't want to flip new cards for other players.
Gotta try this! Makes the draft more social too
Well nowadays we have a lot of time... so maybe this is a great time to try this format out!
What a cool idea!!!!!!
this looks awesome, gunna try this with my cube sometime
My favorite 2 player draft is: pick 1 burn 2, pass the pack.
This is a good idea lol- so you get your draft and your hate drafting fix in one go!
This sounds like a fun way to draft but feels like for most people it would be a once-and-never-again thing.
It is very much like I said, I love doing it, I would not want to do it every time. I can see doing it a couple of time a year, depending on how often your playgroup drafts.
Matt! Peasant Cube!!!
Can you be more specific? I am not an expert in peasant cube, but if you have questions, I may can help out or talk to some of buddies who have one.
Cool idea. But no way bro.
