its like a spring completly compressed at its max and it come in a plane and the top view will be same as that of coil with n turns whereas a solenoid can be related as side view of a free sprig . i hope so its clear now
sir you said that the needle points towards the magnetic north but how, according to me it should point toward the geographic north then only the compass can give the actual direction ......
Good evening Sir, from this device we will only get the value of horizontal component of earth's magnetic field. How we will be able to determine the dip angle and hence the net magnetic field at that point?
Ujjawal Rathore It would be harder. We would need a more sophisticated instrument that can be calibrated in the vertical direction too. Oh wait, I think it's harder than that too😂
Because it is allowed to move only in horizontal plane. If it were suspended freely in the air, then it would have pointed towards the direction of net magnetic field.
What an amazing animation, that too a decade ago. I'm beyond impressed
Sir please upload the videos on vibration and deflection Magnetometer as well....thanks.
Best 5 min explanation I have ever seen
Very less institutions teach this topic very glad u did
Excellent video and animation. Thank you very much sir.
Thanks a lot Sir !!
Great animation and explanation ...
Sir please explain , what's the difference between coil with n number of turns and a solenoid ?

Thank you sir!
Very helpful .
what an epxlaknation sir superb
Thank you sir....nice vedio👍
Excellent 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thanks a lot sir
Thank you sir
Sir, please upload on vibration magnetometer
really great video......!!!
sir won't tan theta be B_h/B_c(ok sir I got it, theta depends....)
sir R these concept like ( measurement of dip , appearent dip ) are important or not for mains
Yes these are useful for JEE Mains... not for JEE advanced...
Than why have you not uploaded videos on that topic
sir you said that the needle points towards the magnetic north but how, according to me it should point toward the geographic north then only the compass can give the actual direction ......
same doubt pls anyone answer

Maybe we can use the longitudes and latitudes and then i guess we can get then it will be easy angle of dip easily
From dip circle we will find angle of dip, and then Bv
❤❤❤
great
Why doesnot needle remain in direction of of net magentic feild why in Horizatal component only? Please answer
Because it is allowed to move only in horizontal plane. If it were suspended freely in the air, then it would have pointed towards the direction of net magnetic field.
Sir What is reduction factor of tangent galvanometer?
sir that coil is toroid?
Sir, what about magnetometer?
Thank you sir
Thank you sir.
