Audi owner here, I can confirm it takes about 30 seconds to establish a bluetooth connection between the phone and the car, then you can enjoy full hands free connection with great sound quality. I pick up a call only 2-3 times a year but then I ask the person calling to wait until I parked. Once I was on the motorway, and just said ''I'll call you back in a few minutes''. Then having a conversation over the speakers while parked is so cozy. My phone never leaves my pocket.
In the UK, it is almost universally accepted that drink-driving is dangerous and morally reprehensible yet so many people find it acceptable to engage in frivolous distractions while operating machinery, even going so far as defending others for doing it. Sadly, the only reason for this discrepancy is a decades long camapaign by the state and charities to stigmatise drink-driving. It is staggering how susceptible people are to being told what is right and wrong without thinking of the consequences themselves.
Yesterday I sat waiting for a bus. The traffic was running real slow because of roadworks. I did loose count after 33 of how many car drivers were using their mobiles, including FaceTiming! While ignoring them large white painted words on the road saying KEEP CLEAR…. And government wants to make it harder for over 70s to keep driving or riding motorcycles? So where is our police “service” these days???
To be fair, my grandad became a menace on the road - behaved as if he had priority everywhere. The family decided he had to have his licence taken off of him, after he put his foot down, lost control, crashed by missing a roundabout exit and somehow flipped the car in between two exits. My grandparents came out of the car black and blue, complications due to airbags sending arms into glasses and glasses into faces. I personally lost count of older drivers cutting in front or from the sides as if I was invisible. I have some footage of a 70 year old lady neighbour, she parked and parked and reparked her car behind mine for 12 MINUTES, made contact with my car 3 times, cracked her number plate and bumper. When asked about it, she denied all of it until shown the video. That's when she admitted in a defeated tone that she gets involved in a collision on average once a week and that her insurance prices went sky high. Her car is full of dings and scrapes everywhere. She said herself she should stop driving, but carries on regardless. I did not pursue the matter with insurance but instead offered her to help replacing her number plate (MOT fail), she was very scared of that hence why she vehemently denied it all in the first place.
@@Manu-Official it comes to all of us in the finish. I’m 71 next year. I hate driving cars. But I still love riding motorcycles. My daughter followed us going to Cornwall this year. She was horrified how many car and van drivers just pulled over as if I wasn’t there? As I said to her, keeps yer brain sharp and sharpens my awareness 😂😂😂. She wasn’t impressed especially when I thumped one car and the driver jumped 🤷🏻♂️.
I drive in our little part of the world. When I pull up to traffic lights, I can see drivers behind me using their phones in my rearview mirror. Because I'm driving, I can't do anything, which is very frustrating.
@@noteymcnoteface4612 yes, nice gentle curves and additional 'give way' lines for the cycle lane at the floating bus stops, making it really clear who has priority over the zebra crossing. Bonus points for not putting speed humps at the crossings (they don't slow down cyclists anyway). Of course, the really nice bit at the beginning of the video, where it's wide and separated from the road with a grass verge, doesn't last long. It soon becomes a twistier half-job, with give ways at the side roads. But that first bit, wow, that's what it's all about, especially the level change between pedestrian and cycle area, it's a kerb, but not that high and sloped so it's not going to present a trip/fall hazard to either a pedestrian or cyclist. My only improvement would be to add a low hedgerow to the grassy verge, to help keep fumes and debris from the road drifting onto the cycle area.

Bike lanes in brighton cf these are joke you are in and out of traffic so v little safety. Give the notoriously poor driving skills here it is dagerou to cycle plus all the potholes, so i gave up. Keep up the good work mikey, the penalties need to be harsher since the present ones are clearly not a deterrent. A specialized unit needs to happen since due to tory cuts the police cant be trusted to take action. If i had kids i would not encourage them to cycle

Once set up, will pair with your phone as soon as you get in the car and start it.
Love what you’re doing keep up the good work mikey 👍

According to gov.uk 25 year olds and under are 4 times more likely to have an accident than other age groups.
@ yes I saw 😂😂😂👍

I'm liking that cycle path!
Much better designed bus stop/crossings on it than we have here in Stratford

Bans for phone drivers needed now.
Agreed 100%
Working in Belgium
But UK police and court are not bothering to arrest or prosecute. Only send out warning letters which actually cost taxpayers more.
"Here, there, and everywhere", surely a quote from the Excellent 'Ways of seeing' by John Berger? Don't leave me hanging Mickey, am I right?
They always have an excuse, when there is no excuse, for phone driving!!! 🙄🙄🙄

Did you get evidence of the number plate on camera?
Nice bike lane

Oh and what a decent cycle path.
