Good job , both on the build and the video. You gave me a workable plan for my backyard - thanks .
Best one Ive seen on youtube. Nice work and thanks for posting.
Very impressive backyard home gym. I’ve been looking for something similar to this to workout with. I’m not that good with building things, but you have given me some motivation and I might give it a try.
I like that you showed it can be done with basic tools. I don't plan on making this BUT a lot of other videos have misleading titles for cheap gym setups and then they start using a bunch of tools worth hundreds
Thanks - I'm thinking of a somewhat similar project but using steel tube and steel connectors - so no welding or screws or cutting (well maybe a couple of cuts) as I'll get tube sized by the firm that supplies it. I like the idea of the step, also good for elevated push-ups.
can't wait to see the first workout!
I commend you for building your home gym apparatus. It's good you're using treated lumber. You should elevate your apparatus on concrete blocks or bricks to allow the moisture on the base to air dry. Also, put metal braces between the posts and base, because over time the screws are going to loosen. Instead of attaching the metal pipes with flanges, I would've drilled holes through the cross members and insert the the pipes through the holes and screw the flanges to the cross members so that the pipes are supported by the cross members. The flanges will prevent the pipes from sliding off.
Decades ago, I built a chin up bar using two long, 3 inch galvanized pipes set in concrete in the ground with a 1 inch galvanized pipe as a cross bar. I have done thousands of chin ups over the years.
Good luck and stay safe.
How deep you went into ground with 3" pipes? 1m?
@@Fosgen The pipes are in the ground about 3.5 feet of concrete. I'm 5'6". If I were taller, I would've had the pipes go 4ft. in the ground. After about 6 months of doing pullups, I was able to do muscle ups. Good luck. Be safe and in good health.
Brilliant job!
remember when every elementary, jr high and HS had these stations?
good work
Congrats my friend!!
👍👏
Help is always good!
Nice , thanks for your time.
That looks great. I'm looking at building a backyard gym. Thanks for the inspiration.
I'm glad you got some inspiration from it.
That's great. I was thinking of putting a pull up bar in my back yard but you took it to a whole different level.
You can do a lot with a simple pull up bar.
Exactly
Awesome work!!!!!!!!!!
nice and beefy -- it looks good! you have several cool updates and innovations on other backyard gyms that I've seen. very nice
Thanks.
Well done!
Looks nice. Almost a power rack, you could probably make some minor adjustments and turn it into one too.
Looks good from here.
Good job man
Great work!
Thank you.
Pretty awsome
Very nice
Nice! I've been looking to build a backyard calisthenics gym. Couldn't decide if I wanted to build it using holes and concrete. I like this though because it is movable if you want. Thanks for sharing
+Taryn Schmidt concrete footings and posts will be stronger but the portability is nice in this one.
Great design. Give me some ideas to improve mine.
Heck of a job man, nice video production, and very clear instructions, good job, ok, how many pull ups ?
I would love to see the instructions, measurements, and materials on this. Such a great jungle gym/workout base for me and my kids
It may be to big for your kids and to small for you, check this “jungle gym”

Very simple and work great for me and kids, plus it’s very cheap.
Great job, nice design. Can you provide a parts list even if not totally complete, with dimensions specially for the 4x4 lumber? I know your spacers tubes are 4' long, and the rungs are 3' so that helps. Thanks in advance.
Kick ass!
Great job Sir. May I ask u where you got those steel bars and clamps? Thanks
Can you please update the dimensions of wood and rod u used , I'd like to know thank you
That's great
Thanks.
Ground anchors are key
How did you prevent the metal bars from rotating?
Nice green house
Love this design, is there a way to purchase or get the plans layout? Thanks
Great work, how did it work out for you?
Kreatif mbahh😬😬😀
Any issues with lack of stability in those ground anchors? Most other backyard gyms I see are setting the posts in holed and filling with concrete, but I like your option better.
about how much did this cost you to make?
I plan to do a dip style with that type of pipe and 4x4. What kind of screws you put. I'm 200lb and hope it doesn't loose the screws. The 4x4 is the wood used for outside with minerals. All i need ro know is the screws and depth. Thanks
I used #14 - 3" screws for the pipe. You just need to make sure they are compatible with pressure treated wood. They should say it on the package.
You used saw....But I don't have that type ,🤣😂😂
Now a video of how you use the different items
Will you be my dad?
Omg this is exactly what I need right now!!!!!!! How much did this cost you total??? Is there a dip station?
Thinking ima do the same sense I no longer have the gym to go to!
Please let us know cost dimensions details etc.!
Probably under $300, Such a great idea to have in our back yard especially with all of the gyms being closed.
A R I agree. I’ve been watching many videos and am looking to make a simple plan to construct something this weekend.
Do have measurements of this ? Looking to build for myself and these would be very helpful to know especially when ordering materials.
Thankyou
+Ben Ansell I think I willout together a buy list and dimensions. Ill post it in the description when I do.
@@IdRatherMakeItMyself-Net Do you have this posted somewhere. I am looking to do this build this weekend.
what size of spinkler pipe and length?? ... gonna attempt to make one.. thanks..
A-keo you can buy it in four foot lengths. That would be a good size.
Fact is: more people have a circular saw than a Japanese saw like this😂
Thats awesome mate now make a vid of you working out lol
I plan on it once I can do that without embarrassing myself. LOL
7:18 😂😂😂😂
Heisenberg quit cooking meth and started an healty life what an unexpected plot twist
why am i watching this when i live in a small apartment with no backyard ?! :/
Same! Doesn't hurt to dream though! One day Saeed, one day.
me right now
are you sure your brother just hasn't giving back the saw you loaned him
He did eventually return it.
I couldn't do what you just did in the video. I'm sure concerned about myself. Get something figured out. 🙄
Well, we all have to start where we are at. I hope you find something that works.
@@IdRatherMakeItMyself-Net do you have the buylist?
Nice video but a big waste of wood... just had to cement the 4 corner posts in the ground and done.....
Ffs looks like a gallows ☠️
I'll bet your neighbor doesn't care too much for it.
He's not paying rent/mortgage to please his neighbour. Tf?
"You can use a hand saw if you cant afford power tools!!" ... *uses a $300 Japanese timber framing saw*
That saw cost me forty dollars, not three hundred, and a standard saw for ten dollars would do the trick.
that looks like a load of crap, use it once and never touch in again, what a waste of 8 minuets.
Minuets?? This is carpentry, not classical music. :-D
@@tommyapocalypse6096 don't be so silly
@@paulandre836 Why not? I'm pretty good at it. And I need something to do with all these ridiculous lockdowns, yeh..? ;-)
Smith you a grump
