Till today, people still say "this antagonist, is the madara of this anime" when talking about different anime. This is how you know this was the definition of a true super-villain. An ancient warrior, an Uchiha. The most powerful shinobi, was the only one capable of fighting Hashirama in his prime on equal strength. Knew all of the ancient knowledge, the first person to achieve a rinnegan through awakening his Mangekyo Sharingan. Was capable of fighting the entire shinobi alliance solo, defeating the Kage, defeating Naruto and Sasuke. And even survived the strongest attack of Guy Sensei himself.
Well he had the best build up you can Imagine. He was a legend in the first series. This mysterious man who was on the same level as the first hokage long believed dead. Then in Shippuden he gets revealed as that big mastermind who faked his death, survived in the shadows and was behind everything tragic. And i kinda think they even copied grandpa Madara in the last star wars movie for Sidious as he kind looks like Madara connected the the zetsu stuff while he is bound to that machine
1) Madara Uchiha doesn't actually have any Wood Release jutsus. He just claps his hands together and the trees know to grow immediately. 2) Madara Uchiha doesn't actually have the ability to absorb jutsus. The jutsus just aren't stupid enough to attack Madara Uchiha. 3) The Uchiha stone tablet doesn't actually have the history or secrets of the Uchiha Clan, Kaguya, or the Rinnegan. Only a list of Madara Uchiha's accomplishments 4) Madara Uchiha can't actually control the tailed beasts. The tailed beasts just know better than to disobey. 5) The tailed beasts didn't actually come from the Juubi. They came from Madara Uchiha's petting zoo. 6) Madara Uchiha can kill Hidan. 7) Hidan worships Jashin. But Jashin worships Madara Uchiha. 8) Madara Uchiha can drown Kisame. 9) Madara Uchiha once killed 50 shinobi with a paper bomb. Then the paper bomb, killing 100 more. 10) Madara Uchiha can remove a tailed beast without killing the host. Unfortunately, Madara Uchiha leaves no survivors
Nice, seems fitting. Classic yet modern, kind of slow paced. But it keeps with the times. I say its fitting cause it seems to be Royal/Classic yet it shows a since of battle and drive in it. That seems to make it a blend of an old life with a young/Renewed Drive. Very believable for Madara Uchiha.

That's because when they made naruto they realized that theres more to a good anime. you have to have a good plot narrative and all around backstory to the main protagonist not to mention a good backstory on all the side characters sprinkled around. Dbz is classic hands down, but its mainly all about fighting and no real narrative or story It was the same stuff over and over.
