I’m a female ice hockey goalie on a team full of high school aged boys and the beginning is one of the most accurate things I’ve ever heard

I had a female teammate. I think I was the only player in the locker room not spreading rumors about who slept with her, and the only one who talked to her like a human being.

Me too! Except I’m with adult men. So far they’re nice to me but they’re uncomfortable with me being in the same locker room as them.
i was on a team with 3 girls - all of whom were really damn good at hockey. this was in Bantams. in their case, they actually joined our team because they actively didn't want to be on a girls team because of a) the drama involved, and b) there were actually special rules involved there - they could play one set down(IE a team of peewee-aged girls against a team of squirt aged guys) and you could not check them(and they knew it, and would often dive to get you a penalty). these three didn't like the special treatment, so they joined a team that was not comprised entirely of girls. they did have separate shower areas, but past that, they would just step into the bathroom to change, then would come back into the locker room to finish gearing up. wasn't particularily awkward. for the most part, it seemed like they were just another member of the team. a couple of the guys learned the hard way they didn't want to be catered too simply because they were girls.
This was great. As a girl who plays hockey on an all guys team I find this hilarious. And pretty accurate.

I've played coed league for years and changed in the team locker room. This video is hilariously accurate, but I still refuse to change in the janitors closet.
One year I played mixed league soccer. The first game all the guys were trying to not make contact with the girls so they wouldn’t get hurt meanwhile my buddy gets slide tackled by a she bull and breaks his ankle. You can’t win lol.

I mean, i’m a female goalie on a male bantams teams, this is the most accurate shit i’ve ever seen. i have had to dress in a storage closet, in the rink, a 5x5 with another girl goalie and player, and and 7x4 locker room with 3 other girls. and it does feel horrible when they score on me, being a girl it’s always going to be harder for me than a guy to get more attention, so when they score, i always think “man i suck, i’ve gotta try harder”.
