The glaring thing I notice is that he doesn't inject emotive wording while speaking about facts here. Like the news will use certain words in with the facts to try to make you feel a certain way about what they're reporting on. Which is one thing the media shouldn't ethically do unless it says "opinion" at the top.

Television is rushed and they need content every day. Fox makes mistakes. Cnn deals with the problem by using expansive language, vague, nebulous, implying things... Fox really needs to learn to do this (tho anymore I think cnn cuts their checks). By using expansive language they fill up time and they can't get accused of *directly* lying (lying about what? they were never specific!); even though that is actually what they're doing continuously every day. Joe Rogan talked about this on one of his podcasts; he talked about how tv writers are under TREMENDOUS pressure to come up with material every day so they spend much of their time looking for ways to steal ideas. They mine every source in the world, all while carefully straddling the line just this side of plagiarism. So many movies, for example, came from some wonky British 70s scifi (coughjamescameroncough) and go ahead and make your own matrix style movie; that idea doesn't belong to the makers of The Matrix. They got the idea from Doctor Who!... They have to steal bc it's impossible to come up with brilliant material every day every week. It's clickbait, it's sensationalism, it's stolen.

This is where I don’t agree with conservatíves, when the blame immígration and that isn’t the reason for víolent críme íncreasing. They are however correct that the łeft’s policies and soft on críme approach is in part responsible for the increase in críme. You’re so correct. Born here in 75. Lived in Houston til 2010. It was VERY different in the 80’s. The 90’s had a crime spike but we corrected it with Mayor Lanier. Katrina brought in a democrat demographic and wokeness has infected everything. The chance to elect a Republican is slim to none. It’s lost.

I've lived on Houston for 40 years and crime is getting worse as far as crime is concerned. I would say that the crime rate and fear on the streets has increased significantly over last year and a half.

one thing about the catch and release criminal programs like in Houston is it puts the cops to sleep. if you watched the entire video of the Houston shootout those cops were not on a very high level of alertness. no doubt having dealt with and arrested that guy dozens of times without to many issues. none of them thought or were prepared for him to start shooting. it's like you have done this 12 times without a problem why would you think number 13 is going to be different. I don't excuse the cops' bad tactics, but I do put blame on a system that puts them in that frame of mind.

I live south of Houston, but work in the Houston area, Galena Park specifically. I carry every day. Hate getting gas at some of the stations, some times it's unavoidable. Panhandling on every corner and underpass. It feels unsafe at times.

You can’t see every threat coming, but I bet you there’s plenty of unarmed people in Houston that could’ve prevented being attacked. Regardless of what kind of cases they are, why would they be assigned to retired detectives?

I work in an environment where when we have issues we know we will not be working on, we actively unassign them. Other organizations will not always take that extra step.
Thank you for correcting Tucker's report. I live in the Houston area and have for most of my life. This is a recent thing brought on by the 2018 county elections. The County Judge of Harris County (not a court judge, this is the title for county chief executives in Texas), along with a huge number of court judges in both Harris and Fort Bend counties were swept out and replaced with a bunch of Democrat "judges" (some had zero courtroom experience, others don't even possess a law degree) thanks to straight ticket voting. This has since been outlawed in Texas. The hope here is that Harris County residents have had enough and will vote out the 7th grade B-team and return some sanity to county government.
Oh, and Kim Ogg is a cancer. HPD could do better, but when the DA cherry-picks only the most winnable cases and refuses to prosecute a number of felony cases just because reasons, the Police Department and Sheriff's Office aren't going to put forth the effort they should. The Mayor is a disgrace, the County Judge is a lapdog for the local Democrat Party machine, the former Police Chief, Art Acevedo, was run out of town (another disaster) thanks in large part to the complete debacle that was the Harding Street raid. You should look into this as well. Sadly, all of this mess can be traced back to the 2018 local elections.

I live in Washington county and things are sane out here but we go to katy and Richmond for Taiwanese community church a lot and for shopping and heading to primary arms from there makes me feel like south Houston has been having more problems recently, especially compared to west and north, though there's spillover now, it's even encroaching the energy corridor.

It seems they'd be better off to incorporate, but I don't know all the details. At last count, I think we're looking at adding between 12 and 15,000 homes over the next year. It won't be long before it's all suburbs.

Tucker didn’t use the best example, but that doesn’t mean what he’s saying is not true. Look at El Paso, a city that’s split in half by the border wall. Before there was a wall, El Paso was one of the most dangerous US cities. After the wall was built, it’s now one of the safest.
So why is that? Is it just a coincidence? Or does the influx of people crossing the border illegally, create situations where more crime is a problem? I think you know the answer to that question.
