About Yundi Li: It is a good idea to know everything about his musical life since he was a little boy. He is one of the best and he´ll keep improving. He is a gift for those of us who experience music as an emotional ecstasy. 我们爱你. Thank you Yundi Li.
I feel the need to re post another comment on giving this guy so much credit. that last clip when he enters the stage and they open the door..God i know how that feels like, makes you want to faint! YUNDI LI!!!!!! i got the biggest butterflys from watching this!
Yeah, when I heard him play the Prokofiev above it was my 1st time listening to this piece, or in fact any Prokofiev ^^. After listening to Vinnitskaya perform this piece then did I know the potential of beauty of this excellent master piece of music...
Prokofiev - wonderful, intense music, some of which is "to be played after your romantic life has been shattered, you have not slept for several days, and you have overdosed on caffeine to keep awake," according to one pianist I met. XD By the way, does anyone know exactly why Deutsch Grammophone dropped Yundi Li? >.> I want more CDs...
it may be so late to answer your question now. He has returned to DG last May. And in 2008, he finished the contract with DG and left by his own choice. There is not like DG dropping him, it is rumor.
continuing... (this is littlegangstayo/TrevorKingKwong) playing piano is not only about how difficult a piece one can play. it's about the interpretation, the emotion, the drive, and tons of other things, all right?
Try listening to Vinnitskaya's version of this piece, the immense power of the interpretation simply blew me away, it kind of reminds me of the air of electricity you sense when Yundi played his Chopin Piano Concerto No. 1 in the Chopin Competition...
has anyone ever seen The Prestige? the two magicians in that movie is an exact metaphor for lang lang and yundi li. Hugh jackman's character (lang lang) is has incredible showmanship, but christian bale's character (yundi li) more talented and is a truly gifted magician.
@SeitanoShuuki Lang Lang forced DG to drop Yundi. It is ironic that LL left DG for Sony. I despise that clown LL with passion even though I am Chinese. Yundi is a real artist.
this is sweeettt omg but omg, Yundi Li does a Prokofiev PC2 before Lang Lang??? lol...I'm a fan of both, and I wish LL would also record such an album!!!!!
@garr711 You don't say... That's rather despicable, I agree. I'll concede that Lang Lang's technique is absolutely brilliant, but in my opinion, he plays too much for himself and not enough for the audience. Well, don't feel bad for being Chinese and despising Lang Lang (I'm more or less the same). Yundi Li just completely redeems us, though. XD
Very nice to see his backstage preparations. Very talented pianist. The best Chinese pianist at our ero.

So modern.. yet so romantic.
The andantino in Mvmt. 1 is just too beautiful for words.
Wow, two giants working together, what a precious moment. I love both of them, two of the top musicians in the world.
He is a really handsome man. Of course, what a FABULOUS pianist. Virtuoso!!!
just saw him in Norway, freakin' amazing!! I loved his expression, passion, interpretation and musicality

God... I really love Yundi Li!!!!!

he is really good. I've been listening to his piano playing since 3rd year high school. It might be nice if I can get the chance to meet him.

Damn Deutsche Grammophon..I wonder why did they cut him off??It's sad..I'm shocked once I heard the news..

it's the strings that you're hearing, it does sound a lot like voices though.
I love 3:30 that sounds so cool, also in 1:56 what movments are these from? in what concerto?
has anyone ever seen The Prestige? the two magicians in that movie is an exact metaphor for lang lang and yundi li. Hugh jackman's character (lang lang) is has incredible showmanship, but christian bale's character (yundi li) more talented and is a truly gifted magician.
that's the director :)
haha i love how he teachers sings along...

Poor lang Lang... He's still a great pianist anyway. But Yundi is my favorite! ●▽●
i dont know why i smiled too
"Jealousy leads to racism, racism leads to hatred, hatred... leads to sufferiiing...."
- Adapted from Yoda, xD
Deutsche Grammophon is going to regret cutting him.
ye he seems to be quite short as well..... but he's got real big hands
i knoww! he's so cute lol XD
CDを持つています。
I can imagine how nervous he was...Just watching this video i was nervous
he reminds me of L in death note... even his name is 'L'i Yun Di too...
the cellos at 2:02 are going insane.

我超愛這首曲子的

The conductor knocked on the wall b4 they went on stage xD
@garr711 You don't say... That's rather despicable, I agree. I'll concede that Lang Lang's technique is absolutely brilliant, but in my opinion, he plays too much for himself and not enough for the audience.

Lang Lang isn't better then him in any rate in Piano...
It is just he know how to make money with his name.....
So he is more known
Haha love Ozawa.
Stupid Question: Which concerto is this?
Eh only if u watched Lang Lang or any other pianists FIRST, then you can comment on them. :)
3:40 is what music is all about
