This is fantastic. Not goofy looking cement blocks from Home Depot. This will last a lifetime. I myself replaced my driveway with cobblestones and Belgian blocks that I collected from the streets of L.A., San Francisco, Seattle, Minneapolis, Kansas City and Philly. I always get compliments from neighbors and strangers. If you want to give your home that extra kick, be it a Craftsman, Mission, Spanish, Italianate, Storybook, or whatever, you gotta have a cobblestone driveway or walk. I myself prefer the worn look of 150-100 year old street cobbles, but fresh cut will do as well. Stay away from New York City cobbles, they are always covered with old asphalt. Keep up the good work, Roc2c. You make the world a more beautiful place.
Satisfying? I was nearly in tears at the skill seen here. No hesitation, no mechanical measuring. The exact right size to fill the last remains gap. Awe inspiring.
These are real professionals. I've been making a cobble pavement for our house and it's not easy. These guys just make it look like it's easy. Got a few good tips from this video also... Gonna try them tomorrow.
i once worked with a portuguese guy in his 40s or 50s in switzerland on a building project. he worked very hard and always was a good cheer. he also drove a complete beater but was the nicest guy.
the making of the cobbles only needed 30 seconds by 1:38 it was enough how do you not go insane with the sound of breaking stone and how hard it would be day after day. how small it is makes it such hard work even if looking simple enough.
Parabéns pelo vídeo, amigos! Pedras Portuguesas compõem as tradicionais calçadas do Rio e de São Paulo. Mantemos a tradição lusitana aqui no Brasil! Um forte abraço de São Paulo
Amazing people doing equally amazing work. This video popped up in My list of 'recommended videos' due to watching videos on MineCraft block types. Thoroughly enjoyed this video. Thank you for showing us how Cobblestone roads and paths are made. We take so much for granted these days, without realising how much effort goes into the production of.. well, everything!
I just returned from holiday in Rio de Janeiro and am totally in love with Portuguese Pavement. I plan on incorporating the design from either Copacabana Beach or Ipanema Beach in my retirement home and/or garden. I hope there are artisans in NW Arkansas to assist me with fulfilling this dream.
+Lesylee Hodge we were very happy I know you like this portuguese pavement. We are available to do your project in NW Arkansas, our artisans move to worldwide.See our website www.roc2c.com

Just beautiful and carried out by wonderfully skilled artisans. When you say the company is worldwide can your product be sourced here in the UK and also laid here in the UK(London and Lancashire)?
Маленькая зарплата? Это работа думаю для тех кто делает это с кайфом и удовольствием. Мне вот укладка камней , брусчаток очень нравиться. Calcada Portuguese
Hi Matthew, in this video we use our own local limestone called "vidraço", there´s also much more stone types in Portugal. Take a look at our website for more information, materials and pavement styles. www.roc2c.com/
Looks like nice artwork. But one question, they are putting stones on powder sand (not compressed), how you expect the surface to keep straight surface after some time.. stones should sink and after some time the surface should be uneven??
Altiplano indians were laying their roads (vias/calzadas) thousand yrs before the Portuguese arrived...the Portuguese probably learned fm the romans....
Most civilizations that become a bit more centralized building cities and expanding had to develop paved roads to maintain the movement of goods, people and troops and keep it's coherence, the limitations to that usually are defined by necessity, materials and terrain. The portuguese are the "modern romans", so is the spaniards, italians and even the french. The cultural origin and most of the bloodline is a mix of celtic culture civilizations and the "roman-mix" and Visigoths, plus the other populations that left some influence, like the semitics in the times of the muslim invasions and Caliphates, then the Franks and Normans(descendents of norsemen, vulgarly known as Vikings) that helped in the "Reconquista". Roman roads are the best paved roads of human history, some still survive to this day!

They don't have a magic hammer, they have years of experience :)
I'm voting magic hammer, that isn't human.
Hi what sort of stone are you using?

Cobblestone LOL
Matthew Humphries Minecraft Stones
Technical question: are these cobblestones or setts?
What kind of base do they use below the big stones?
Portugal!!!
That looks amazing. What does something like that driveway cost by the square foot?
Hi Marc, please send us email to info@roc2c.com.
www.roc2c.com
lol people that settle for cement floors haven't seen this.
amazing
Looks like nice artwork. But one question, they are putting stones on powder sand (not compressed), how you expect the surface to keep straight surface after some time.. stones should sink and after some time the surface should be uneven??
its a mix of sand with cement below the cobblestones
VERY NICE
i wish we could do that here in canada, but unfortunately it wont work on sidewalks as the frost will destroy it
+bbruce995
no problem, can do, we have the solution, granite stone, not destroy with ice.
for more information please contact us for info@roc2c.com
How deep is the sand below the stones?
+Björn Eriksson It depends on the base floor and type of pavement.
For more information please contact us info@roc2c.com
