It looks like a nicer variation of Uchi Makikomi. Love it!!! 😁

I'm going through as many old videos as I can. Is there a similar throw to this motion that involves catching a leg kick? I've been experimenting with a motion but seems very acrobatic to be reliable. Almost like I'm trying to mix a Judo throw with a football cut/chop block.

Why would anyone thumb this down? Always has to be a chump out there. This is a great move. Nik Collier has used armspins to throw countless victims...even greco-roman practitioners...he even used a variation of this to throw a former Olympic team-member from Brazil once...the guy said he had never seen that before as long as he's been in judo (there are many variations of armspins)...and that's just it...if you are not familiar with a move...it's hard to see coming...lol. Great video!

Nice move, I think I saw that one in John Wick. Another channel did a series on the Judo throws of John Wick, unfortunately half the time they seemed to show a different technique to the one in the movie.

Judo was the first martial art I ever trained in and is still one of my absolute favorites, if not my number one. Due to my now being disabled, I can't practice Judo anymore and other styles I have trained in are no longer possible for me.
Luckily I've been learning some Shuai Jiao because it has a lot of techniques that involve sweeps, which is one of my few remaining strengths.
If I may ask, as a top-level Judoka, have you ever encountered or trained/sparred with a Shuai Jiao practitioner? If you have, what are your thoughts on the art and its methods? It's very hard to find a school for and what I've learned has been from other sources and practiced with friends, so I've been hard-pressed to find a regular training partner.
As a result, I'm always curious to hear about the experiences of others who have trained in the art or sparred/trained with someone who has.

      Hold up man !
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (c) Jesus

@@mrboy9658 I don't mean any offense, but I'm not sure how that connects to the question I was asking. I think I missed something so you might have to explain it to me, sorry about that.

@@loneronin6813 This verse is from a hearing where Jesus called on all people who were carrying some kind of burden in their lives to come to Him. I can well understand what it is like to be traumatized and not have the ability to do anything and Jesus is just incredibly helpful in this.
about your question - I have never practiced shuai jiao, but I trained in a wrestling style as close as possible to this, it is called khapsagai wrestling, technically it is the same shuai jiao only No Gi. I also had very little experience in freestyle wrestling, sambo and had several matches with judokas and I have an idea of how these styles differ and how they are similar.
firstly, in such forms as shuai jiao (national types of wrestling) they very rarely use such a clear system of unbalancing as in judo and sambo .hapsagai and shuai jiao (as it seems to me), in such types of wrestling it all happens more “naturally” way, since you can’t touch the ground with anything other than your feet, the body itself begins to tell you how to move in order to stand and not touch the ground. So its more chaotic and this point makes similarities with freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling.
The second point follows from the first, which is that these types of wrestling are more powerful than judo, less technique, more power, I think. but this does not mean that technique does not play a role, it always comes first in the fight. There is more tight wrestling, the grips are tighter, and in Shuai Jiao there are grips on the bare hands like in freestyle, this is another similarity with freestyle and Greco-Roman. judo is 100% GI, sambo is 70-80% GI (yes, there are no GI pants, but the jacket plays a big role in wrestling) and shuai jiao is 60% GI
