Greetings! The Crash Live! events really are fantastic! I believe there’s possibly talk of making it a 2 day event. You could fly over and make a weekend of it! ✈️
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! Yes, Side Swipe! looks pretty awesome and the Ant Attack 2 reveal was extremely well received! Looking forward to getting my hands on both of these at some point! 🕹️👍🏻
I live in Brazil and in the 80s I had a Brazilian clone of the ZX Spectrum, the TK90 X. Good and nostalgic times, it's incredible what the loyal and active zx spectrum community achieves after more than 4 decades
It is amazing that so many people still have so much love for the humble little Speccy! Some of the games being created for it these days are just mind blowing!
Nice round up of what was there, you timed it well, it was so busy when I was there you could barely move, fun event, we do both crash and zap, a nice day out, thanks for sharing.
Howdy! Yes, it was another fantastic event wasn’t it? I do both ZZAP and CRASH as well. They’re both brilliant days out. Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching! 😎👍🏻
It was fantastic to see you again mate! I never got to show you The Portal War game that I’m doing the music for! Next time! 👍🏻 The 10 Liner thing is awesome! Some really impressive stuff going on there. I wish I could remember all that stuff. I might have to have a refresher! See you soon buddy. If you need me for anything, you know where I am. 🙏🏻👍🏻
A lot of people my age, ha ha! So many memories of the various systems I learned my IT career skills on back in the 1980s. It might seem very odd and nerdy to some but I think it's cool that so many people are still getting so much fun from micro computing 40 years later. Long may it continue!
Totally agree! I hope these events go on forever! It’s great that we can all just get together, meet new people, discuss our fond memories of these systems and have a jolly good time! 🕹️👍🏻
@andrejeffries2421 I think you get get info from the Facebook page. I usually get an email because I’m on the mailing list now. I’ll ask around and see if there’s a central place where the event info is posted. 👍🏻
You should come over and make a trip of it! (Especially if it turns into a 2 day event). You’d love it! My ‘The Spectrum’ arrives on Monday. I was very tempted to buy another one at the event, but I was a good boy and resisted!
Great! Something to look forward to! If you see me at next years event, come and say “Hello!”. I’m easy to spot, I look exactly the same as my avatar!😂
Looks like a great event. Not seen that many micro computers in one place for a long time. Reminds me of the shows in the 80s/90s when I was a kid. Might try to go next year if I'm able
It was fab! There’s always a large selection of machines to play on! You should definitely try and attend one, you’d love it! There’s the ZZAP event earlier on in the year, which is Commodore based and then the CRASH event towards the end of the year which is Sinclair based. 👍🏻
I thought the event was great. Glad they had stuff other than the Spectrum also, whilst I love the system it is always fun to play with other stuff. Thought the arcade room was great, I did not see a moment when that R-Type arcade was not in use. Some good speakers and lots of spectrum machines as well as others on display. The one thing I would change would be to add more traders, there was really only one stall selling Speccy games, and I bought a few but would have liked to have been rooting around in more boxes from other sellers and that room got crazy packed out you could hardly move :) The Speccy has the pulling power all the years later.
Yeah, I tried to get on R-Type and couldn’t! I hear you about the traders. I think that’s a limitation of the venue size. I guess there’s only so much you can fit into a space that size! It’s understandable that the Speccy still has the pulling power. It’s such a great little machine and the new ‘The Spectrum’ was really popular there wasn’t it? It was selling like hot cakes! Mine arrives tomorrow. Can’t wait!
Thanks! Appreciate that! Probably not for this specific event. The closest one to you might be the Play Blackpool event. It’s on the other side but closer than travelling to the midlands! Thanks for watching! 👍🏻
@stewsretroreviews Play Blackpool is great. Absolutely MASSIVE event with tons of old systems and arcade machines to play on. Definitely keep an eye out for it! www.playexpoblackpool.com/
Looks like it was a really good show. Pity they didn't hold events like this a bit further north. I'd love to attend but it would mean a 600+ mile round trip :(
Crumbs! There are people that I spoke to that spent 6 hours getting there! They came down the day before and stayed over. Maybe that could be an option if it becomes a 2 day event? Have you been to Play Blackpool? That’s always a pretty good event!
Hi Nez. Gutted I couldn't make it this year - work wouldn't let me book the day off (tried to book it months ago) because it was during their Christmas period. Found out last week, other people have booked time off. Chased it up and they'd got their dates wrong!! Not a happy bunny! Experiencing it vicariously through your video - thanks for the footage. btw .. Did you ever upgrade to the DJi 3?
Hi Steve. I did keep an eye out for you whilst I was there! Shame you couldn’t make it. There’s always next year! That’s why I make this little videos so that people who can’t make it can get a taster of the atmosphere and what’s there. I stayed with the DJI Pocket 2. The 3 is too big for my liking. The 2 is much more pocketable.
Nah - not at all! The organisers run a Commodore based ZZAP event earlier in the year. This CRASH event was Sinclair based. Sorry to hear about The Spectrum. Maybe a cheap flight, pick one up and then fly back? 😉
@@SpectrumNez Hmm, actually not a bad idea! Maybe I can bribe the missus with some holiday shopping at the same time ;) Anyway, thanks for the nice video and keeping our childhood memories alive!
No SAM Coupés then? Too rare I guess. I should check on mine some time. I do sometimes wonder if the loft is a good place to store electronics 🤔 EDIT: It's boxed in the original packaging, which includes polystyrene, so I guess it should be pretty well protected from the temperature changes between seasons.
There’s a glimpse of someone playing Manic Miner on a SAM Coupé at the 8:34 mark. 🕹️👍🏻 Sounds like it should be ok if you’ve kept it in all that packaging. Probably worth a pretty penny too! 😎
@@SpectrumNez Ah yep, not sure how I missed that! Thanks. I have a bunch of peripherals too, including Kaleidoscope, 1MB external RAM card, printer module and the extension card. I went all in at the time 😅
@@cynewulf1 I’d have done the same if I had the money but, alas, I was still a child when it came out. I remember all the magazine adverts for it and it looked awesome, if a peculiar shape!😂
Greetings from a Speccy lover from Brazil! I really hope some day could be at a great event like that.
Greetings! The Crash Live! events really are fantastic! I believe there’s possibly talk of making it a 2 day event. You could fly over and make a weekend of it! ✈️
Great video. Showed a couple of games that I've not seen anywhere else on the Next (Side Swipe! and Ant Attack).
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!

Great video Nez. Thanks for sharing. You just gained another subscriber. :)
Thanks buddy! Glad you enjoyed the video! 🕹️👍🏻
Great to see you again :) Glad you also enjoyed Matthew's BASIC 10 Liner travelling show.

I iive in Kenilworth and didn't know anything about it! I'll keep an eye out for it for next year!
Oh no! Yes, definitely keep an eye out! There’s 2 events a year at this venue. A Commodore based ZZAP event and a Sinclair based CRASH event. 👍🏻
@@SpectrumNez I live in Coventry and knew nothing about this as well.

Great little event, saw lots of photos online but really need to go to this next year, thanks for sharing !
Glad you enjoyed it! If you go to next year’s event, find me and come and say “Hello!”. You can’t miss me, I look exactly the same as my avatar! 😂
Oh man I would love to see all of that in person! Eager for "The Spectrum" to arrive!
You should come over and make a trip of it! (Especially if it turns into a 2 day event). You’d love it!

@@SpectrumNez Now you got me really excited.
A shame I couldn't make it but next year for sure, looks so much fun. And I spied a Memotech MTX, would love to try that keyboard out one day.
Great! Something to look forward to! If you see me at next years event, come and say “Hello!”. I’m easy to spot, I look exactly the same as my avatar!😂
I'm sure you had a splendid day. So much exotic hardware on display!
It was fantastic, bud! You’ll have to come to the dark side someday and visit the Speccy event. I’m sure you’d love it! 😎
Nice overview! Was particulary happy to see near start, Dropzone running on its original home of Atari 800xl (my favorite looking 8 bit)
I don’t know if I caught it on the video but there was a Dropzone arcade cab there too! Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching! 🕹️👍🏻
Lots of fun and nostalgia!
By the truckload! 😎
Thanks for watching! 👍🏻
@SpectrumNez It was a pleasure to watch!

Wait, what? Ant Attack on the Next? Oh my God I need this!
I know! The atmosphere when this clip was shown was electric! I heard people audibly gasp! 😍🕹️👌
Thanks for uploading this.
What game is thr intro music from.please. it sounds amazing
No problem! Hope you enjoyed it! The music is from the Speccy version of Golden Axe! 🕹️👍🏻

Only one brief glimpse of The C64 at 1:02. The rivalry continues?
Pretty miffed though there are no Dutch vendors selling The Spectrum 😕
