After 20 plus years, I finally grabbed the golden gun on the Xbox version and brought closure to an unfinished childhood memory. Out of all the levels that I played on 00 Agent, Aztec was a royal pain with Caverns coming in second.
Thanks for this guide! It was really helpful. I just completed this level on Agent. Now I’ll try completing it on Secret Agent and then on 00 Agent after. By the way, that ending of the level was creepy and Baron Samedi’s sinister laughter is so creepy it scares me.
Thank you, man. Contrary to some people on the internet I enjoyed this version. Maybe because I didn’t play it right away when it was released so I might have avoided a few bugs. Anyway, the control scheme on the Xbox is far superior and I’m really glad they removed the feature of the crosshairs moving around the screen instead of making it static like they did now. I can recommend this version or the the XBLA version (which has the crosshair fix only if you use the mousehook-enabled version of Xenia). Thanks for the guide and I hope to see you again soon. Also, I was surprised to how easy this level was with your guide.
Kinda funny that the game drops one of the easiest levels with the most lenient Target time as the final challenge. It’s almost as if it’s saying “yeah we know Caverns and Aztec were absolutely punishing, here’s an easy one for you”
007 mode is basically just custom difficulty No achievements tied to it but it can be fun to play around with to give yourself extra or unique challenges. One I did was take enemy damage all the way up, but lower their accuracy and reaction time down
When I was a kid I bought a Goldeneye with everything already unlocked and was too scared to tackle the game legit. When playing on xbox I managed to whip through the game on Agent first based on muscle memory. Secret agent wasn't too bad but 00 agent I probably died 100+ times but thanks to your videos I watched over and over again I was able to complete on 00 agent, and unlock the cheats. I had the most trouble with 00 agent Facility, Train, Control and Caverns myself
I don't know about the xbox version but on the switch version I was sad that 007 other than life / damage / accuracy did not add mission objectives or difficulty and does not give achievements or even the little red checkmark when completed :(
It was like that in the original and it isn’t really an objective to beat. It’s just a custom mode so having the check mark to indicate you cleared it wouldn’t really make sense. N64 carts could only store so much after all
One of the worst levels in the game. This try and error with the right path and the Samedi locations in 1997 when there was no RUclips or internet at all just drove me mad. At the end I was able to found a nintendo magazine where the level was explained in detail and how to beat Samedi.

Caverns is a goddamn nightmare on 00 Agent. Pure chaos
Thanks for the guides. They were very helpful. Just unlocked the last achievement for the game a few minutes ago.
Great guide from start to finish. Much appreciated. Nice calming voice. This game really brought me back to childhood.
