Another inspiring ride and camp. I live in Colorado USA in the same place where your Voodoo Ranger beer is brewed. I’ve also lived in Utah near where the Firebox stove was developed. Just tiny little extras and fun details. I’m just like the many other followers finding themselves relating to how enjoyable your trips feel every time. I’m going to save money for the inevitable trip to AUS because I feel like I must see and experience some of your beautiful and wonderful country. What an amazing place! Thanks for sharing your experiences and for cleaning up. It sets the right example for anyone venturing out in the outdoors to simply pack out what you packed in… nothing less.
My only advice for fires in the wet is waiting much longer before putting the big pieces on. If you can find enough 2cm thick timber to last about 30mins, and you place the bigger logs around the outside you can dry them off enough to get them burning. Probably try and have the biggest bits about as big as your arm as well. Anything bigger will never dry out enough.
Hi Rob, i have a tips to make a fire in rain forest with almost everything is wet. 1. Kindling : if you are happen see pine tree, use the sap from it. It will burn easily while the seed and branch can be the fuel for fire. If there is not a pine tree make kindling from other tree. the trick is you have to remove the moss and skin from little or medium size branch and cut into the dry wood inside of it, the inner parts must be dry while the outer parts is wet. After you find a dry wood you have to cut it into small pieces like a sliced meat and some of it you need to chooped like a sawdust, it will make a good kindling. 2.Fuel : try using little branch with the size of pen (you must remove the skin if its wet) it will burn good enough and will be the base of your fire. After small branch you can use a bigger wood, offcourse without the wet skin, try not add too much because it will be blocking the airways (you need oxygen to make a fire). You can put larger woods next to the fire to dry it and use for the fuel later The most important is air circulation must be good and you have to be patient. Good luck rob, hope it will help you next time.

It's always raining on me haha. Hopefully now that the warmer weather kicks in we'll have a dry ride and setup with a late evening storm. That would be ideal
Try to split the larger pieces of wet wood to reach the dry wood inside. If you don't have a hatchet you can use a knife by hammering on the edge with another piece of wood. Use the dry inner pieces to start the fire and put the wet pieces around the fire to dry them out. They'll be dry after a while.

You need a wood stove to get fire under humid environment. An open wood stove which doesn’t have a pipe. I watch many camping videos where they use it efficiently. Anyway, your style of camping is simple but really attractive. Watching it make me feel relaxed. Thank you.

I knew it, you guys were taking I understand it’s hard to avoid not to having a conversation at wonderful night with nice dinner but that’s the beautiful having a companion while camping ⛺️ but not to worry it’s still considered as ASMR although it wasn’t that loud. On other thought it’s like watching a romantic movie the brokeback mountain 2022❤😂😂
I don't know if anyone mentioned it yet but, here goes, for the getting fire started in wet conditions part, place at least 3-4 logs/good size pieces of wood or what you have available at the bottom as a base layer, then stack them almost like a pyramid, then try finding the driest pieces of wood to go on top, whittle a few into shavings or feather sticks if you are familiar with that type of thing, then add any accelerant you might have on hand if any example (cotton, dry tree bark like beech tree, wax or alcohol etc) you get the idea and use a ferro rod/ matches or lighter and hopefully this makes it easier for you and helps you out, as always stay safe, stay awesome out there y'all 👋😎👋

Bahahaha
I'd watch that ! 2 🔥 guys with accents 😍
I don't know if anyone mentioned it yet but, here goes, for the getting fire started in wet conditions part, place at least 3-4 logs/good size pieces of wood or what you have available at the bottom as a base layer, then stack them almost like a pyramid, then try finding the driest pieces of wood to go on top, whittle a few into shavings or feather sticks if you are familiar with that type of thing, then add any accelerant you might have on hand if any example (cotton, dry tree bark like beech tree, wax or alcohol etc) you get the idea and use a ferro rod/ matches or lighter and hopefully this makes it easier for you and helps you out, as always stay safe, stay awesome out there y'all 👋😎👋
Thank you so much for the tip! I've had a few write in with how they start wet fires. I'm excited to try them all
@@Rob_Hamilton awesome dude, can't wait to see you implement them and also love your country, never been but love it, scared of the deadly creatures though crocs, snakes, scorpions and spiders etc lol :-)😶🌫
