I own all three, and if anybody watch this video to decide which one to pick, I suggest Studio Strings. It might sounds dry out of the box, but it has more flexibility. It takes EQ really well and you can design your own reverb. Whatever you wanted close and intimate or larger than life epic sound, it's all covered. Great video anyway, very inspiring!

Absolutely! I suggest investing in the Studio Professional version when it goes to sale again, because the added mic positions are a huge benefit over the standard library.

@@apocryphal_man if you own studio strings you get a discount on professional and if you wait for another 40% sale they’ll give combine both and it’ll cost 150$ only, so much worth it

Dry out the box is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Thanks for the info!

    “Prelude” from Alfred Hitchcock’s
    Psycho (1960),
    Performed on 3 string libraries?!
This makes it sound eerie, spooky
    and very cool!

    Spitfire Chamber Strings
    0:48 & 3:14
    Spitfire Symphonic Strings

    And...
    Spitfire Franken-Strings!

Recorded in the same room as studio strings ;)

Chamber really shines through here. It has better clarity and sounds more natural than the other two. Usually I find the chamber sound less so. It's clear the symphonic has a lot of room reverb, is that mostly the case?

The Franken Strings is the best! The mix sounds very realistic!

Someone just mentioned this on the VI forum and wondering if you can confirm. Are there any other shorts recorded that are staccato or staccatissimo? Or is spicatto you're only option?

@@VictorKongMusic copy that. The symphonic also? I thought that had more articulations.

    • @VictorKongMusic
      @VictorKongMusic  5 лет назад +3

Symphonic has Short 0'5 and Short 1'0 but they are not really staccatos. All 3 libraries has time machine which you can stretch and control the tightness of the short articulations.

the three have their unique attributes that makes them stand out to each other it's like they're not complete without each other and some instrument are not well balanced on each until you put them together but i like pairing studio strings with a violin library like the super realistic one from fluffy audio to remediate this issue, in the studio the hits remains dominant but the violin is hidden under the other one while for the on the other one it's the contrary the violin are more apparent but the hit are loss until it becomes worst with the symphonic version so i ill say all of them together is the way to go but if you need one that can get the job done nothing spectacular get the chamber one but if your on a budget get the studio one and pair with a high quality realistic violin library to bring back some of the lost violin character and intensity back in the mix for a more balanced sound.

@@VictorKongMusic Thank you. What do you think about Chamber Core and Chamber Pro. There is a promotion until today (22th Mar-2019). But I´m not sure if I take one or other. Any suggestion? I know the price and Gb space differences and it´s not a big problem for me. But, money is money...
