@@dave-swift I’ve only become aware of the Freemius controversy a few months ago. Several of the plugins that I use are irreplaceable. There are no competitor plugins I can choose to purchase instead. Also, since they went on record saying they don’t track / spy… it would damage their reputation if they are proven liars. If I had the choice, I’d avoid Freemius just to be safe though.
Hi, I'm new to this and the CodeBox plugin caught my attention, but do you think it's a necessary plugin or would you recommend it? It does not affect the speed of the site or the use of ram? And if you know code, is it better to edit directly in the child theme or is it more advisable to use a plugin like WPCodebox? And thanks for teaching us! 😀
Hi Marcsmad, I think for most situations it’s better to use a snippets plugin rather than editing the child theme. This way, if the site is redesigned in the future and the theme is changed, it is very easy for the developer to see what code needs to be kept in the new site. A snippets plugin will not affect site speed when used responsibly. You should trigger snippets to run only when necessary - e.g. on the front end, or specific pages. The conditions builder in WP Codebox makes this very easy. Thanks for watching and commenting. I hope my reply was helpful 👍
Great tutorial. I want to add the google ads conversion code to a thank you page bellow the content. Is there such option in Code snippets pro or wpcodebox? I see only header and footer. What will happen,if i add the code to the header and not bellow the content.
But having it fire anywhere on the page it should work just fine. The case for putting it below the content or in the footer would be to make sure the page loads (transaction completes).
Thank you very much. Maybe,WPcodebox suits me better in this case. Can i use WPcodebox with Gutenberg and Gutenberg based block builders? I suppoae yes,but have you tried it?
Yes, 100% It's totally independent of the page builder. I'm using it with my company's site, clientamp.com, which is GeneratePress/GenerateBlocks 100%.
I'm planning switching from Elementor to Blocksy pro(or Astra pro)+Kadence blocks or Cwicly. I like the Crocoblocks plug ins and they work good on Blocksy and Astra themes,so i will try it. Combined with WPcodebox,it will be a very powerfull combination.
Unfortunately, I didn't see this video before I purchased the Code Snippets Pro. Compared to WP Codebox it doesn't even have a chance and there are no real updates or new features.
Thank you! Been looking for a video that compares these two. So I guess I'm keeping Code Snippets Pro. I got the lifetime deal and my refund period ends tomorrow. :) I already have WPCodebox for a while already but it seems CSP seems to be more mature and has bette features. ;-)
Personally I prefer not to use sipperts plugins but hwt is a good solution for quick and easy work. You just have to make some adjustments sometimes to make the snipperts work properly. Like with some javascript codes where you add action('wp_head',function()(.... Or something like that. If you don't know this you can spend a very long time and it won't work.
Ok, totally confused about your personal preference here. First you said your preference out of the two is code snippets pro, then at the end you concluded that Wpcodebox is your preference. Is this being political…? Aside from the point you made about code snippets pro being Wordpress-like interface and hence that is the reason why you chose it, everything else you pointed and demoed throughout the video shows Wpcodebox is miles apart and better, you even said it at the end of the video that their pricing is better due to the longevity of their LTD.
I have been using Code Snippets on websites for about 7-8 years. Code Snippets Pro was released less than a week ago. This video shows the differences between Code Snippets Pro and another popular paid option WP CodeBox . You decide what you like better. WP CodeBox is currently better suited to power users and is my personal preference. I even said so in the video. Thanks for watching!
@@KariposTheOne oh they work for Elementor! I didn't know that! That's a bit amusing to me as their home page had some mobile responsive issues at launch. I agree about Freemius. I use some other plugins that use freemius so it's not a complete deal breaker but I definitely don't prefer it. Even from a user interface prespective their user dashboard is very hard to navigate. Then of course there is all of the security concerns.
@@dave-swift Sorry for the miscommunication 😅 Elementor is not listening to their community, promised us many Features that we don't got and this is why I don't trust them anymore. Thanks for the nice comparison, I'm going to buy WP Codebox very soon
@@KariposTheOne oh thanks for explaining. I still like Elementor and everytime I try to switch I end up coming back. They are definitely not a perfect company though! Definitely bugs that need to be addressed.
Wow! this looks like a "pain-free" way of maintaining custom code! 😃
Thank you so much for sharing this tool
Thanks for the comment Sekander. Hope you’re well!
can you do a comparision video block studio vs wp codebox vs code snippets pro vs d plugins script manager?@@dave-swift
That's what i call a super valuable video. i didnt see thoses 30min fly :)
Keep it going !
Thank you, Eric!
Excellent, comprehensive insights into these two code snippet plugins.
Thanks Peter!
I recently purchased WP Code Box. Looking forward to trying it out soon!
It's pretty great!
@@dave-swift the cloud snippets feature was what pushed me over the edge. Previously, I had been using Advanced Scripts.
Advanced Scripts, more freemius! Does that bother you at all?

To play devils advocate if they did spy, and they didn’t lie about it… they wouldn’t be very good spies. 🤣
This was very helpful and I like your presentation style.
Thanks Amy! I appreciate the comment. 👍

I just tested to confirm, yes it works.
