Waleska has got them mixed around! The bankruptcy and money issues with BTS stopped in around 2015-2016. They started getting enough money to be successful and were finally gaining money themselves. The reason why they were thinking of breaking up in 2018 was because they started too get WAYYYYY too popular. They were suddenly being asked to go to the UN, to all these american award shows and do so many new things that no one else in the whole of Korea had done. It scared them and stressed them out, so they were thinking of stopping to relieve themselves of this stress. Luckily they talked to each other about what they were feeling, and BigHit and Bang PD let them choose themselves what they wanted to do, so they stayed. Dunno how Waleska got them mixed up but those are two different BTS timelines. 😘💜

Ya they are hell tired physically as well as mentally because they gain popularity and they have back to back songs, performance, promotions and many more things at that time , they are in so much responsibility and also its kinda they are representing whole south korea so they were feeling pressure, they are just 7 normal boys and there have sooo much going on with them .....they can't even sleep for an hour at that time they were hell hell tired ...they are like devastated.
Even they talk about in documentary and in suchwita show also suga talk about it how much bad he feel seeing his members lying down in pain and suffering to sleep

Not even 2015-2016...it was way before that during their two rookie years, so more around 2013-2014 but things started being good from 2015

Actually it was 2018. That’s why so much drama between hybe and sm. ( lots of ppl don’t know this. Some of higher management team went to sm) Also, at that time they suffered a lot physically and psychologically

Bts did not consider disbanding in 2018 due to financial trouble but because of mental exhaustion. You can check out the acceptance speech for artist of the year in 2018, where they briefly mentioned their mental issues they were facing back at that time. It is true that bts and their agency faced a lot of financial troubles, but around late 2015- early 2016 (every one unanimously agrees) bts started getting more financial stable. And you could notice that just by noticing the change in budget over time. I mean just compare hyyh part 1 (I need you) in early 2015 vs hyyh part 3 in early 2016 (fire), the difference is night and day.
Also yes, no one else does performances like them, period.

They were close to disbanding around 2015 due to financial issues but I Need U's success prevented that. It was also their 1st music show win.
2018 was when it was time for contract renewal. They were already getting started in US has won a BBMA for social artist & were financially stable. It was more about resigning a group deal as they were pretty exhausted & scared abt how their popularity was increasing. They took a secret vacation & sorted things out.
Also award shows haven't been that big since 2021 coz BTS pretty much haven't performed. They skipped 2021 & 2022 Jin had already enlisted.
We will hve these performances once they r back as a group.
In suchwita with V they talked about disbanding in 2018 and V was going through a more severe depression compared to the other members. They all talked about disbanding even though it was at the height of gaining popularity in the US. It was the letter sent by Suga to v and jk that made the two young one’s turn around and want to continue. You also have to bear in mind that apart the exhaustion, at that time v has lost his grandmother while bts were in the Philippines and then he lost his grandfather as well. So I don’t think it was about the contract renewal because that happened on 2020.
Exactly,they had plans after that year but things took a diff turn (global success) so they were in a difficult stage
@@CloudedLeopard8588Jimin was also in his most difficult time, especially when he'd always be that positive guy but at that time he came with some videos explaining what is happening and he was in a shoking, serious state he never showed on camera, and he said that he had to remember why he was doing all of that, why would he continue working this hard sacrificing his health and time, and said that the members were going through a hard time themselves for similar reasons (personal reasons vary but they all tho abt the reason to continue) but nobody could help the other directly. He said I found my solution and ik the guys will find theirs, so Suga may have helped V and Jk but I'm sure they came up with their own solutions
Right now bts has soo many iconic performances including online concert...they make it popular and now other kpop idols are also get inspired from it.

in 2017 - 18 reason for considering disbandment as mentioned by jin in the AOTY speech wasn't due to financial struggle but mental struggle sudden rise in social expectations, everything was escalating so quickly along with such a packed and busy schedule with no breaks and cb after cb they weren't able to keep up mentally.
(The financial problems were early 2017, 2016-15)
oh they were making hella bank during the performances yall were seeing, but they were just very exhausted physically and mentally bc they were the biggest act to come out of south korea at that point, putting a whole lotta pressure on their shoulders, sth they didnt sign up for. that's why the discussion surrounding disbandment came about among them before they decided they still wanted to be together and to slow it down. they took a minor break in 2018 for holidays and kept running, in preparation for the enlistment when the pandemic hit; so they pushed through a little further to be of solace for armys around the world who were struggling bc of covid (which is why they released feel good songs like dynamite, ptd and butter). when the world started opening up, they took a hiatus to get into solo projects, while the members enlisted one by one.
Disbanding was around 2018 due to the stress and the fear of the explosive international fame around then cuz that's when we got fake love, mic drop, idol, Boy with luv and all these 1B+ legendary songs. That's also the year when they were being compared to The Beatles due to 3 top albums in 1 year. By 2020, BH had enough to become Hybe so Bankruptcy and disbanding can't be around the same time.
(V & JK were having severe stress since I remember that Suga wrote them a big letter on text to comfort them and i think that's what Jin was referring to in that award speech where they all cried and you could how bad V was crying.)
I remember yoongi saying that in 2015, BH was like 'we got no money, go home' and they just refused to leave.
There were two moments when BTS was abt to disband and/or thought abt disband.
Once was in their debut era when bighit had no money almost went bankrupt, it was around 2014-2015.
Next time was around 2018-2019, when they actually thought and talked abt disbanding cause the overwhelming success and continuous working hrs without a break started taking toll on them as they talked abt in their 2019 MAMA speech.
Mind you BTS took their first ever real official break in 2019-2020 before pandamic. They were always working. Our supeer hard working tannies💜💗
performing one song to different award shows with different concepts and enormous production... that's how good and involved they are. that's BTS.
No only Jin is out of the military (dec 2022 - june 2024).
All other members are still in military. Jhope is coming back next on october 2024. Rest of the member will be comeback on june 2025.🙈😊
But on 12.6.2024 they all gathered to celebrate Jin's discharge from the military.💜

BTS perform at award shows post 2018 then they still stand out and have maintained same level of dedication and sincerity why they are the GOAT
You guys saying they don't do performances like this now is CRAZY. It's literally because you haven't checked any of them out. Most of BTS' performances are at this scale and they've stayed/ grown to better scales.
They aren't saying that. They r saying they don't music award like performances which is kind of true simply bcoz bangtan hasn't performed at music awards since like 2021. Only Jhope went to MAMA. So it feels like they haven't done a performance.
@@DEE-305 Obviously they can't perform on music shows lol because of the military. Also, outside of music shows, BTS has done hundreds maybe thousands of performances. They have checked other group performances, so it's unfair to say BTS doesn't do that anymore when they haven't reacted to any BTS for about a year or so.

jin was the first to be enlisted and he had just completed his service! the others members are still in the military and the entire group will come back in 2025! you just feel like you havent seen them on award shows in forever bc they took a hiatus before military service to provide us w solo content.

here are their enlistment dates: only jin has returned, the rest are still serving.
1. JIN december 2022 - june 2024
2. Hobi went next in april 2023-oct 2024
3. yoongi went next sept 2023 but will be returning LATEST bc of his type of service (end of june 2025)
4. V & RM enlisted on the same day (Dec 2023 - june 2025). joon was initially supposed to enlist with hoseok but the plan kept getting postponed. he just posted a letter about this on weverse including how he felt sorry for jin who was burdened going in first alone, and how much he misses the members and how he feels hope after jin's return (Read twitter translations)
5. jungkook and jimin enlisted together a DAY AFTER V & RM (dec 2023 - june 2025). if you watch the bangtantv videos you can see taehyung apologise for not being able to send off jimin and jk aw
Yoongi is returning one week after vminkookjoon in late June 2025. He's not coming back in July

if you watched Kcon 2014 where BTS performed as opening act and they just debuted.. you will know and realized how BTS is so good even from the start.
Being a BTS fan in 2017-2019 was just something else getting all of this in the moment! The awards shows were hitting!!!
Even though they only get a small fee for their appearance at awards shows, BTS always provides top-class productions on every stage. High productions like this were initially unusual but once BTS did it and gained huge recognition from the public, it became an example and industry standard.

Even during Covid their performances were the best, as bts said concerts and performances are the most important part in their career.
In 2017/2018 they DID NOT have financial problems, the members talked abt it so many times that what they achieved was not in their plan and they feared commiting to smth that wouldn't be worth it. Financially, that was when they started to gain real money and success

No one does as well as BTS but Txt and Enhypen have some great music show stages but its not as live or as long since they are younger groups. It cool because they have concepts. I cant wait for BTS to come back!!!!

I got into bts in the year of 2017-18
I dont think all of it is Mnet's budget. Most of it is actually Bighit's money. Bighit and BTS knew they have to be this grand to gain more traction and to please Army. They were the epitome of "all or nothing".
Suga mentioned this on Suchwita with Hoshi. That having so many dancers during award show performances were their decision. So it seemed like, the performance itself were always the artists' and bighit's decision. And given that this still a promotional show, I'd say Mnet provided the platform but not the ENTIRE budget of the performance.

Artists' companies are responsible for the costs of their performances. Not many are willing or able to invest that much money for award show performances.
You don't see this level anymore, because BTS were the only one to have it (not kpop in general) and now they aren't here so you only see mid perfomances

At this point, they weren't disbanding because of financial issues. They consider disbanding because they got so big in the US that the thought of it scares them. The pressure and expectations of people towards them are too much for them. They realize that at this point, they are no longing bringing the name of their group or their label, they are already bringing the name of their country. If they mess up, it's too much to handle.

korean year-end shows literally downgraded throughout the years. i watched mama 2017-2019 live and i attest that the production quality is just not the same.
mama awards used to last from 2 pm-red carpet to 3 am kst because groups performed 15-30 minutes each, not including collab stages. now, they just do 2-3 songs and a short remix.
mama used to be 3 days, all in different countries (commonly kr, hk, and jpn). so ,every group was given enough time to add various elements to their performances.
also, it seems like broadcast companies stopped inviting “unpopular” groups. notice how the only groups in year-end shows are mostly from big 4.

I respect you guys a lot. But let me be honest with you. You guys don't do enough BTS to actually know the level of BTS's performance. You do other groups who do their stuff and then you think BTS put that level of performance. It's not like that. BTS does way beyond your average Kpop group. To get an idea of BTS, you have to do BTS. You cannot do Kpop and pass it as BTS.

3:06 if you guys meant that you don’t see this a lot in kpop in general i’d agree. actually, recently there was a whole discussion on k-twitter on how BTS need to be back to bring the quality on award performances bc the groups now just don’t hit the way it used to. but if you mean BTS don’t do performances like this anymore i’d be shocked considering their last performances were the ptd concerts and ytc in busan which were SOO iconic and with an incredible level of performance.

To me, they r some of the best performers in the music industry. Ever since their debut, they have ALWAYS given their 100% in their performances, no matter the size or whether it’s a free or paid concert. They r great role models for the newer groups coming out these days.
It wasn't financial but mental and physical...they were overworked and just so much was happening..they were at the verge of breaking down!!
