48:15 if the cause is mechanical, the universe cant be temporal because the cause is supposed to be eternal. Since the universe is temporal, the cause has to be absolute/sentient because it acted without an external cause.
I think it's wrong to say that the universe is temporal. It has a temporal dimension but this is not the same as saying it is fundamentally temporal. It doesn't make sense to speak of time external to the universe.
And if all the trees on earth were pens and the ocean (were ink), with seven oceans behind it to add to its (supply), yet would not the words of Allah be exhausted (in the writing): for Allah is Exalted in Power, full of Wisdom. (Luqman 31:27) Say: "If the ocean were ink (wherewith to write out) the words of my Lord, sooner would the ocean be exhausted than would the words of my Lord, even if we added another ocean like it, for its aid." (Al-Kahfi 18:109) They ask thee concerning the Spirit (of inspiration). Say: "The Spirit (cometh) by command of my Lord: of knowledge it is only a little that is communicated to you, (O men!)" Verily the knowledge of the Hour is with Allah (alone). It is He Who sends down rain, and He Who knows what is in the wombs. Nor does any one know what it is that he will earn on the morrow: Nor does any one know in what land he is to die. Verily with Allah is full knowledge and He is acquainted (with all things).(QS Luqman:34) Do they seek other than the religion of Allah (the true Islamic Monotheism worshipping none but Allah Alone), while to Him submitted all creatures in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly. And to Him shall they all be returned.(QS Al Imran:83) They fear their Lord above them, and they do what they are commanded.(QS Al Nahl:50) Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen will have forgiveness and great reward.(QS Al Mulk:12) And remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers.(QS Adz Dzariyat:55) "Verily Allah knows the secrets of the heavens and the earth: and Allah Sees well all that ye do."(QS Al Hujurat:18)
