My mistake again everyone. To remove those invisible looking boxes from your character go into your teleport entrance/exit and set those bad boys to invisible. Hopefully this helps some of you guys out!
So I have my player a dash, (thanks) but i have it on while pressed so it’s like a run or increase to movement speed but if you hold it in mid-air the player flies. Is there a way to fix this? Edit: I found your sprint video thanks.
To make it look cooler, add a smoke effect (or whatever effect you want idc) connect it to the person and set it to world. Then link it to the X button and BOOM! A nice effect for your dash!
lol I found you and asked for this exact tutorial and got it, appreciate man, over like a week or 2 your channel has doubled in size, congratulations my man!
You just helped me better balance my game! I can't offer enough thanks! It turns out I had the right idea in using teleport objects...but the way I implemented them allowed the player character to absolutely break the level. This is much smoother!
Great tutorial! Really like how you broke it all down. Would love to see how you’d do a simple conversation tree (nothing like mass effect) just more like a question with ‘yes’ ‘no’ response options and a corresponding response to either selection.
Yes I was actually working on this not too long ago. It will be featured in my "Let's Build an RPG" series specifically when an NPC gives you a side quest!
Hey, I have a suggestion (It may be like really simple for who already knows half of programming of gbg but it would be cool seeing it and it should help newbies) Game starts in a start screen, for example, choose level screen, then when select it, it teleports you for the area and the music starts playing (for that specific area)
I've been planning a title screen for the longest time now, I will definitely be doing that! If you watched my teleport episode you will get a glimpse of what switching levels may look like!
Thank you very much for all your support! I was planning to do other games soon, you can always give me suggestions. Constantly trying to find any type of new content! :DD
I may not be able to explain it as well as he can, but I think I can help here. To make it so that the move the power up allows you to do is only available, attach a once touched sensor to the power up and then have the input you would press to activate the power up (eg. press y to shoot fire) connected to a and nodon with the touch sensor feeding into the second i put in the and. Then feed this into what you want the character to do. If you have a power up that goes away after a certain amount of time like an invincibility star from mario, you need to change it up a bit. Attach the touch sensor to turning on a flag, and then a timer for however long you want it to last for. This would then go into the turn off flag. I can explain others, but this comment is already getting very long. Would you like me to upload a showcase of the different types?
Is there any way to make the dash directional like in Celeste? I want to make it where can day in any direction and only once while in the air. Im making a platform we highly inspired by Celeste! Btw love your videos keep up the good work! :D
Yes this is totally possible! This would work depending on different components connected to the teleporters! I can start messing with it and see what I can do, thank you very much for the suggestion! :D
There’s one problem for me tho I’m trying to make a 2D game with the dash and if I press the dash button while my player is turning(even when I set turning to fastest speed) sometimes the dash would make my character dash to the camera and since I’m using the game screen camera my character goes offscreen Can someone tell me how to fix this
I don't know if this is possible but can you make a tutorial on how to make a first person sword game with motion controls or button presses to swing a sword? And congrats for 1k+ subscribers.
Yes this is very possible and I could see what I can do! Also thank you thank you very much, glad to see your one of those subscribers! Without you I wouldn't be at this milestone! :DD
you could leave out the person+camera initial setup, even new viewers won't care. the title of the video is the information anyone that watches this video is going to be interested in learning. it doesn't have to explain how to do anything except that.
Can you do how to make objectives like I have this game where your giant and have to destroy and center number of builder, and after you do that a robot comes, but it comes after only 1 building is destroyed, and I can’t find anything on RUclips, Also can you do how to jump lower by tapping B but jump high by holding b.
Its been very suggested, I've been working with it for a bit and its still kinda wonky. I will try to get that out as soon as possible, thank you for the suggestion. :)

How would I make it have like a timer so people can't dash repeatedly and just zoom across the map?
That's a baaaaaaaad boi.
Congrats on 1k :)
Thank you thank you!! :DD

Yes I remember you exactly asking as well! Its grown crazy big, and its all thanks to your support! :)
This method is infinitely easier and simpler than others I've seen. I couldn't get other methods to work in first person. Thanks!

This seems a lot simpler than my solution of launching an invisible object at the back of the player 😂 thank you!
Lol yeah I think this is the most simplest ways that I know of, you're very welcome!
How about a wal climbing tutorial

I woud love to see a way to make a cool down for the dash id it is possible
Currently working on that, tutorial for that will hopefully be out in the near future!
Thanks for all your tutorials, it's really helpful !
You are very welcome, let me know if you would like to see any specific tutorial! :)
@@Oribloop Yeah, like a cooldown if we use a power (like the dash on that tutorial)
What a fun idea, I'm gonna keep this in my toolbox for a rainy day. 😁

Oooh this looks fun! I guess it's like the dashes that you can do in modern Sonic games
Yes exactly like that!
you could leave out the person+camera initial setup, even new viewers won't care. the title of the video is the information anyone that watches this video is going to be interested in learning. it doesn't have to explain how to do anything except that.
Very true, from now on I will exclude it from the videos because at this point it is just very unnecessary.
Is it possible to add a cooldown?
Intresting, is there any way to make this work only once in the air? (For a double jump mechanic)
I'm working actually on a double jump as we speak, it should come out sometime next week!
The dash is really helpful for games! But what about vaulting? (or you can’t)
Uhh... Can you make episode 2 of the RPG thing (idk what it is actually)
Vaulting would totally be possible, but I would have to mess around with it before making a tutorial. Thank you for the suggestion!
No Probs bro!
Can you add a cool down? Cause I don't want people to spam dash around the place.
Same
here i am again, this was also something i was stuck with, gonna use this in my first person platformer!
You should keep coming back lol, also that project sounds like its gonna be fun. I'm glad you found this helpful! :)
Love you your videos are simple and quick and good at explaining it so thx
Thank you so much! I'm glad I can explain things well, sometimes I honestly think I don't lol but thank you!
Whenever you spam the dash button, it just continues dashing though😢
Thanks man! This is definitely gonna come in handy 🙌
You are very welcome, I'm glad I was able to help you and your project!
Sonic 3d style strafing, 2 teleport nodons mapped to “L” and “R” with different launch directions…. 👍👍👍
Ooo that sounds actually really cool, I'll start working on it! Cheers for the suggestion!
Can you make a locked Door tutorial that you need to collect certain item to open
Yes totally! Working on a door right now that needs a combination, but I can get working on that too! Thank you for the suggestion!
i spammed x and i flew. how do we get rid of that? (Spamming X Makes You Fly)
Same
Do you think you can make a piano tutorial?
I've heard someone request this as well, I can play around with it and see what I can do. Thanks for the suggestion!
Please make a tutorial where a button makes the character go slower ^_^
Thank you

Make a compare nodon (=)
And a constant
And an object break nodon
Change the constant to whatever number of buildings you need to destroy
And connect it to the compare nodon’s second port
I need a cool down
Me too
THANK YOU AGAIN
