If you heat the back of the little palette the pan will be much easier to remove. I have a wax melt warmer and I had several Nars Blush palettes that the hinges were broken. I just set them up next to the warmer, resting on the ceramic base for half an hour then I was able to remove them easily. It melts and loosens the glue under the pan. I have used a blow dryer and that works but it’s hard to tell when they are ready. This way was a no brainer. If the shadows start cracking it’s not ready.

I always admire people who do pan those eyeshadows. Do you find it difficult to remember which eyeshadows you are working on? I also have a question about repressing eyeshadow if you can please help Dora. I was repressing most of the eyeshadows from my pan that palette and decided to repress one of the matte shadow also, even though it was a bit too soon. It has completely ruined the formula. It's rock hard now and i can't get any pigment from it. I evem tried repressing it for a second time, pressing it much less firmly, but it didn't make any difference. I used 70% isopropyl alcohol. Do you have any advice on how to revive it? Im so disappointed as it makes the palette much harder to use without that dark matte shade to add definition to my small eyes.

@@LornaKelso thanks Lorna - I have to write all shadows in projects down & rotate through the palettes so I don’t get confused 😵‍💫😆
I’m so sorry to hear about your repressed matte. It’s not happened to me personally but I’ve seen it many times before. I’m not sure if there’s any way of reviving it, I fear that some formulae are not made to be repressed with alcohol but you won’t know until you’ve tried… 😢 I hope you find a way of using it, and keep us posted please 🩷🙏🩷

@@dora_makeup I tried repressing it two more times to no avail. The last time I added a few drops of glycerine and it improved the texture ever so slightly, but it was still basically useless. Theoretically I could have crushed it up fine and used it as a loose eyeshadow, but I knew if I did that it would never get used, so I crushed it out of the palette and binned it 😭 I found a similar eyeshadow in my Viseart Petit Pro 1 so I stuck some magnetic tape into the pan of the ruined eyeshadow and put the Viseart shadow in there. At least I might be able to get more use out of the rest of the palette this way. I did notice even the Viseart shadow is very dry, whereas the rest of that palette is still very creamy. Must be something about the deeper pigment that makes this happen. Thanks for listening Dora. My partner just doesn't understand why I'm so pissed off about an eyeshadow 🤣🤣🤣 I think the worst part is I was doing so well panning it and it really didn't need to be repressed for a good while yet. I will never repress eyeshadow until I have to again!
