    I just want to add to this that keeping your water temperature at or around 68° helps balance your nutrient.and water uptake which keeps your pH on point without fluctuations. Water level and Alot of Oxygen at the roots is also super important.

    Excellent information. The explanation of the meaning of hydroponics was what grabbed my attention out the gate. I learned a long time ago hydroponics was simply any format to grow without soil. I see now the interpretation of soilless vs what some call true hydroponics, but his opinion is as mine anything without soil. The additional in depth information was fabulous. Great one Chris thanks

    I have a question because I transplanted some plants from seedling mix to Perlite, and they are doing wonderfully well even in the heat. I lost everything in the DWC because water temps are at ambient which is around 84f-104f (this can't be helped). This had me thinking about a drip hydroponics. How would that work in the heat since the roots don't actually touch, or sit in, the water they are in an inert grow medium gaining nutrients via the drip?

    • @generalawareness101
      @generalawareness101 2 года назад

      @Ketchupdodge Yep, I have two plants out of 30 that survived because we went into cooler temps. Their roots took off and they grew in girth. One other is barely hanging on but everything else was gone. Sad because just one week earlier more were alive. I have learned that to grow hydro do not do it from June to Sept. For the potting mix everything I put in it dies, and/or has no real roots. Even my catnip is near death in potting mix, and that stuff is hard to kill.

    Tbh.. growing dwc is controversial. Everyone has different ways and methods.. genetics plays a great part too. Bennies most definitely plays a crucial part in growing.. hypochlorus acid works also but I’ve only successfully used it once. I’ve gotten root rot with a chiller and hypochlorus acid. Once I started using great white and king crab root rot has been a thing of the past..

    Basicly hydro is for control freaks... and requires alot of attention to water ph NPK levels, enviroment, lighting, temps humidity and a lot of flushing.
    Deep water culture is the cheapest to configure... but you must have an easy way to remove water that builds up with salt and easily replace fresh water with fresh food.
    My first attemps not counting dry trim I yielded 1.5 pounds of dry flower ranging from baggable buds to small lower buds and trim to make hash with. Using a 2x4x6' tall tent...300w mars bar light.
    Min = PH tool, parts per million meter, a bucket with drain plug + large air stone.. air pump and a catch tray.. a 6 gal+ wet vac to suck up drain water from catch tray... an airated reservoir for nutriants... to refill buckets a good light with dimmer. = bare bones setup
    💪😎✌
    Calmag with quality food is a big deal so is a flush agent... like bushdoctor
