My Mexican passport has maiden name and then my husbands name on a different line. My lawyer said everything needs to be made under maiden names but all my other identifications only have my husband’s last name… Would I still be able to pickup my packet once done??
I believe that once you turn 18 you have 180 days to leave before you become inadmissible. My husband came here at 15 years old turned 18 on July 2007 he returned to Mexico in December 2007. He left before the 180 days so his first entry does not count. He came back in 2009 and since has stayed. Our I-601A was approved last year 3/2019. I still get worried his first entry could affect him.
Hello I have a question... you did fly to El Paso then cross to Juarez? Did you have any trouble or were questioned when arriving at El Paso? My husband is going and he has no type of papers just his Mexican passport
@@mommykarennn great I'm also from Houston and I plan to drive there is it dangerous to have your vehicle over there in Juarez. Hi Karen , how long was the wait from the time you received the NVC letter that you were awaiting the interview & also did they do your application online or manually ? Thanks so much . Sarah
Hello Sarah the wait time was in between 7-8 months. I have a video on the timeline if you would like to go watch that as well. It would mean the world to me if you could subscribe to my channel for more content. What do you mean if my application was done online or manually? Do you mean at the interview? They did it online there.
My husbands lawyer sent it electronically to the NVC , they said they do it all online now . That’s what I meant . It’s crazy because he had to voluntarily depart on Oct 7th & has been there since then but got the initial letter saying we are waiting for an interview from the NVC was on 8/19/19 . So my daughter & I are here in the US & he is in Mexico since 10/7/19 & has not heard anything yet . Only thing is he was really the soul provider for all of us so it’s really a scary situation because I only work part time & can’t hold up the household like he did . He was the main soul provider so it’s complicated .
Hi I have a question... did you go to all your appointment by your self?? Because I don’t know if I should go to the appointments with my husband cause I don’t want to wait outside all by my self. Do you recommend him just going by himself for all his appointment ?? Please let me know thank !!
Jerelly Ibarra Hi Sorry don’t mean to but in but wanted to answer ur question. My husband walked with me to all my appointments and he did wait for me. The medical takes about 2 hours and the fingerprint is the fastest one only takes a few minutes. Now the interview is the one that is the longest. On that one my husband went back to the hotel and then came back for me🙂

thanks for that wonderful information, my son-in-law is schedule for next month and my daughter is freaking out, but your video really did a great effect of comfort on her, one question though, do you have to go to the border to get the packet or the visa? can you fly from Juarez to any state where your family is waiting for you? because he is going from Illinois and my daughter is not going with him because of the kids, do you think that she should go with him?
victor g hello thank you so much. I’m so glad they found comfort in my videos. After the interview, You can choose to stay in Juarez or you can go to another location in Mexico you just have to let them know where you will be that way they can send your visa packet to the nearest DHL. If you stay in Juarez you can pick up the visa packet from the location you get fingerprinted at. You cannot cross back over into the United States without the visa packet.
mommykarennn thanks you for your quick response, but my question was if you have to go to the border and once que get your packet, can you fly back to, in our case to Illinois? Or do you have to cross the border and fly from el paso Texas?
victor g ohhh ok thank you for clarifying. As soon as you get your visa you can go straight to the airport and fly back. You do not have to go to the border. They will do the Stamp at the airport as well.
Karen thanks for uploading your process it’s really helpful. I started my wife’s process in 2016 and we just got her appointment at Cd Juarez. We went through Catholic Charities Immigration Service here in Dallas so I think her interview will be very similar to yours. Thanks again for taking the time to document your process. Hi. My appointment is coming up soon. I was wondering how much did you have to pay for medical exam? Also did you have to pay anything at fingerprint appointment or at the consulate interview? I just want to know around how much money I should take to be prepared. Thank you.
Alondra Herrera the medical exam ends up coming out to $255.20. There are no other fees for anything else just the medical exam. But also keep in mind if you do need vaccinations they are an additional cost.
Thank you! You also mentioned that you needed a waiver because you had “illegal time” after you turned 18. What if you have DACA? is it still considered illegal time?

The provisional unlawful presence waiver (“provisional waiver”) process allows certain individuals who are present in the United States to request from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) a provisional waiver of these grounds of inadmissibility before departing the United States for consular processing of their immigrant visas-rather than applying for a waiver abroad after their immigrant visa interviews using the Form I-601, Waiver of Grounds of Inadmissibility (“Form I-601 waiver process”). The provisional waiver process is designed to encourage unlawfully present individuals to leave the United States, attend their immigrant visa interviews, and return to the United States legally to reunite with their U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (LPR) family members. Having an approved provisional waiver helps facilitate immigrant visa issuance at DOS, streamlines both the waiver and the immigrant visa processes, and reduces the time that applicants are separated from their U.S. citizen or LPR family members, thus promoting family unity.
