To my mind, this is a very auto-biographical set of lyrics, describing her angst being pressured to jump through the many hoops demanded of young artists like herself by the highly commercialized music industry - spending many hours in the studio, doing media interviews, rushing off to promotional photo shoots, etc. Daneliya has made it clear that, on one hand, she wants to pursue her artistic dreams as a vocalist, but on the other, she is resentful of all the trappings associated with becoming 'successful' in her musical career. In one of her recent 'fan chats' for instance, Daneliya noted that for the first four months in her new high school in the Boston area (where she now studies), she kept a low profile, wanting to be accepted by her peers as just "one of the gang" rather than as a budding starlet. In fact, she speculated that most of her fellow students were not even aware of her rising fame until she appeared publicly in the AGT Champions contest on national TV in January 2023. This is a common challenge especially for young, 'child stars', and many have cracked under the immense pressure, as we know. It takes a lot of emotional strength and maturity to survive this ordeal and create a balance between the demands of the industry and the desire and ability to maintain a "normal" personal life. But Daneliya is a very intelligent and strong young person. If anyone can manage to navigate through this tumultuous period in her life, surely she will. "Tied" expresses the struggle of feeling trapped and controlled by external forces, yearning for freedom, and a genuine sense of self. It portrays the desire to break free from the expectations and pressures that have dictated the singer's life, and the fear of the unknown that accompanies that longing for liberation. Furthermore, it was written by DANELIYA, Eestbound, Bryn McCutcheon, Kirstyn Johnson & Augustwoton. She started singing when she was 10 years old. In 2017, she auditioned for and won season 4 of The Voice Kids Ukraine. She was Kazakhstan’s first-ever participant at the 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Belarus, finishing 6th overall. In 2019, she competed in the lone season of The World’s Best, finishing in the top 8. In June 2020, she auditioned for America’s Got Talent. She advanced to the live shows, and then to the Finals. She finished in the Bottom 5 of the Top.
