Imitating Christ

Douglas' brother keeps copying him, and it's driving him crazy! But there may be an important lesson to be learned here. One of the best ways to be like Jesus is to do the things that He would do!
Douglas’ little brother Stephen keeps copying him, and it’s driving him crazy! If Douglas is building something out of LEGOs, Stephen tries to make the exact same thing. Stephen tries to be the goalie at the same time as Douglas when they play soccer (which is against the rules!), he follows him around all the time, and he even got a shirt that looks just like Douglas’ shirt! When Douglas had finally had enough, he asked his mom if they could sell Stephen to the zoo. Douglas’ mom obviously said no, and asked why Douglas would even think of such a thing. He explained to his mom how much Stephen was copying him, and how it was driving him BANANAS! Douglas’ mom told him that Stephen was just copying him because he looked up to him, and he wanted to be like him. One of the best ways to learn to be like someone is to do what they do. This got Douglas thinking about how his Sunday school teacher is always telling him that we need to be like Jesus.
If we want to be like Jesus, then we should do the things that Jesus would do! There are certain things Jesus did that we shouldn’t copy, like claiming to be God; but we should live our lives the way Jesus would if He were living our life. Another thing to keep in mind is that no matter how small you are, you will always have people who look up to you. So if people are going to be copying you, then you should be copying Jesus, so that they’ll be like Jesus, too! Let’s all work on imitating Christ together!
