I'm a father of 6, grandfather of soon to be 7. I share that so you take my compliment from a grandfather figure.
I was raised with very little means.
At 22 I went to the ocean for the first time. Ocean city. Oh man. I was in love. The beautiful stars over the ocean. Warm breeze off the ocean. I was in my prime. All my senses at there apex.
One of the hotels was having a concert on the beach. A young unknown lady. Her debute. This beautiful young lady about my age. Walks out onto the stage. Doe eyes. Just beautiful. Plus the environment of the ocean I already described.
This young lady let loose. Oh my. Heavenly sounds. I was overcome.
Her name was Whitney Houston. Her debute. Man I was a fan.
I say all this. I'm not up on all the music so forgive my ignorance. But last week I heard this beautiful young lady let loose on a song on RUclips. Hard places I believe is the title. It took me back to ocean city.
Amazing talent young lady. Throughout ones life. We see people reach for the stars. Become proficient in their trade be whatever it may. But every once in a while you see that one person who shines bright. That's what I saw in whitney. I also see in you. Your voice. You can go where you want.
57 year old fan here and I totally agree. H.E.R is seriously talented, writes most of her songs herself, plays instruments like a pro, looks like a model but keeps her clothes on which is refreshing these days. She is wise beyond her years for one so young and will be around for a long long time with that talent.
