(Spoilers by the way) I hate the fact they nerfed her soo much on the no mercy route, because if she used the power of the mask she would probably obliterated Clover in no Time, and the fact even without the mask she can still tank shots from clover most powerful revolver I can definetely say i love my Kitsune Momma
It's not her being nerfed, it's the game not being consistent. In geno, she has a power that lowers max hp, in pacifist, she takes 0 damage (from the start) and then has the mask. You would think that she uses both powers in both routes right? No, she doesn't cause the devs thought that this way it would have been cooler. They could have at least provided an explanation. This is dumb as fuck.
Within the pacifist route, she is holding in as she had a happy experience with Clover in the Steamworks, she herself admits that, the mask is more a facade so that you don't see her face and her feelings. When you break it, you see her crying and win the fight. Even so, during the mercy run, she still has conviction to kill you because of the promise she made to Chujin. While in the no-mercy route, she feels no remorse in trying to kill you, and she has no reason to hide her emotions as the only thing she can feel is fury towards you. No mixed feelings. You could also argue that with the shield she puts over herself on pacifist, she kinda is on the defensive and not on the offensive, but that is a whole another interpretation. In the end, yeah, it's all speculation, there's no explanation as to why she just lowers your max hp for some reason, unlike Sans' karmic retribution. And the lowering max hp thing doesn't even cap at 20, so she could very well used it on both routes.@@theterron7857
@@little_l0gic when i said that in pacifist she doesn't take dmg from the start i wasn't talking about the shield. Im talking about the part before the mask, if you attack Ceroba you deal 0 dmg for no reason (making glass ammo not work). They could have made her take damage, but as for the feisty 4, you don't have enough turns to kill her, and once she has the actual shield up, she stops taking damage. it's pretty sad, because it was easy to fix these inconsistencies. if they made the max hp drop cap at 20 hp it would have had so much more sense even in pacifist.
I assume it's purely a gameplay thing. Sure, it is a bit jarring but they probably wanted to make her fight unique from just her Pacifist Boss Fight while still making it fun. Sometimes sacrifices have to be made for things like that
