  • The first two weekends in August see coal fired smoke lazily drifting over the small town of Lebanon Ohio. This year was no exception as Jeddo Coal 85 made her debut on the Lebanon Mason & Monroe railroad of Southwest Ohio. Their rolling stock and wonderful crews have long been a subject of ToledoRails, specifically on the Ohio Rail Experience Excursions of 2019 and 2021. I was long overdue to publish a video of their charming railroad, and steam was the best excuse to visit on August 12th. 85 put on a grand show as a passing thunderstorm gave way to blue skies from Turtle Creek to Lebanon.
I cannot speak highly enough of the volunteers and operations of the Lebanon Mason & Monroe. Their excursion to Turtle Creek was the first train ride I rode back when operations have started out, and since then they have amassed a well-maintained fleet that gets better and better as the years go by. If you're in the Kings Island area, their train, as well as the nearby EnterTRAINment Junction make for a railfan's perfect day.
I hope you enjoy this video, and if you like it, feel free to subscribe to see more!
