Well as a listener of classic music, i really wish he could have remained in music composing even though i like him as an actor, But music composing and classic music is a world of its own, i think he would have been very successful
Thefreethinker John : Well as a composer of concert music, the field is not very kind and had Mr. Hopkins gone into classical music composition, we probably would never would have heard of him. How many contemporary composers can you name? Do you the know the composer in residence at any of the major US orchestras? Or the last winner of the Pulitzer Prize? Mr. Hopkins had potential, but I am truly grateful that he went in to acting.
Marc Parella it is not about becoming a name, rather should it be the legacy you leave behind, something for your generation and maybe the world to enjoy. As much as I love flicks, music is a universal language, understood by all living creatures and when this language becomes a true art, it will never go out of fashion.
That's because a lot of the new and young actors are exactly that. They are young, hungry, and have more of an ego. It's part of being young. Wisdom and humility often come with age.
One of the finest pieces of music I have heard to this day. I am absolutely impressed. The combination of the genius of Andre Rieu and Sir Anthony Hopkins has created a brilliant, artistic and beautiful musical experience.
The main theme of this waltz, reminds me of the intro instrumental theme of lead song of the classic Russian movie war drama "The Cranes Are Flying (1957)"
I heard this tune a while ago!!! Shame on me that I didnt know he wrote it!!! Well done!!! A knight in all its meaning!!! A true gentleman that exceeds in all he does!!! My favorite actor by far =)
Interviewer sells him a bit short... he's one of the best actors in the world, period, not just one of the most renowned villains. He's a true Renaissance man.
Most of us knew sir Anthony Hopkins is one of the legendary actor in the world, some of us knew he is a great music lover and composer. But few knew he is also an excellent painter. What a gift.
This is amazing to me because it is so difficult to do a waltz. Happy he found Reiu, two great artists have made a stupendous wonderful peace of music for us. Blessings!!! Huzzahs!
Thankyou for your wonderful music. Later and later We have this special opportunity to share the music and compose it with André Rieu we like and adore him a lot. This music was fantastic and amazing. André is special the best in the world. He is a respectable and stunning man together with his Orchestra. His son is also very special in his performance to me and the world ❤❤❤🎉❤❤❤
A truly wonderful interview, I so appreciate his talents! Can on just imagine on living with that talent within himself? I receive chills just listening to this sensational waltz, and as well watching Silence of the Lambs. My heart just flutters. His acting, his music cannot be described! I would love to meet him, I just would love to meet him!!
Creativity is in all of us, and to bring it out of oneself for others to be inspired and enjoy 50 years is a long time to wait, but its been well worth waiting for, Sir Anthony had doors open for him from being a great actor, to have this masterpiece played Thank you for sharing your creativity Sir Anthony, and what an amazing result from Andre
I dread to think how many more of such wonderful pieces of music lay still somewhere in the drawers around the world... suffering from their authors' shyness to come out with it...
I enjoyed Mr. Anthony Hopkins' movies before knowing that he was also a composer of one of my favorite Waltz musics. Great Waltz! Belated congratulations to Mr. Anthony Hopkins still count. Right?? 🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊
I would love to hear Mirusia sing "I dreamed a dream". I listen to your orchestra and Mirusia every morning and I can't stop from crying when she sings "Over the Rainbow". If I had the money I would travel to Europe to see your performance and maybe try to see them ALL. This song written by Anthony Hopkins was done so beautifully... well everything you play is outstanding. I had a dream many, many years ago which was to tour Europe. Holy cow what beautiful things to see, but my life has killed my dream. GBY all for giving so much beauty to this world. It helps us forget for a little while all the horrors going on world-wide.
So very great I am a fan of his acting and this music in Waltz is amazing it is a great composer. and musican I have dance on this waltz with my husband when it was my birthday
The main theme of this waltz, reminds me of the intro instrumental theme of lead song of the classic Russian movie war drama "The Cranes Are Flying (1957)"
Wonderful Sir Anthony, that your dream comes true! And lets be honest: only André can make your dream come true! And the Waltz and good life goes on...vive la vie ! Tomorrow is mystery, Yesterday is history, but what I saw Today is a gift ! Thank you. Xxx Dutch girl named Ada de Laive
Wonderful Video of Andre with his wonderful playing on the violin and Anthony Hopkins, how talented he is. Merry Christmas to you and your Orchestra Marion UK
‘Music for the Gods’ is the stuff of music which is beyond words - yes, it is a language of its own only the ‘soul’ can hear. This Waltz by Anthony Hopkins does that. . . It is music worthy of the orchestra of Heaven as it reaches to heights many composers have not reached even in an entire lifetime. He is WORTHY of the name COMPOSER as one of his best and important accomplishments. This music will live on for generations to come and shall pass the test of time well beyond our mortal lives. . .
Wow what an extraordinary person you are... I finding music to the most difficult thing one can do. This piece is amazing and then to think you are such an extraordinary actor.
Thank you Anthony Hopkins what a talent. ♥️ If I was your teacher back then I would have encouraged you in what you are good at in school ... Piano and Composing. The fact that you Act, Direct and Paint brings me great joy. We can do it all. Even when failed by State Education. You sure showed the Bullying British Academics that control Education. Lol. I love that. ♥️♥️♥️ True stories change lives, so thank you so very much for sharing your amazing childhood story with us and showing us that it is ok to DREAM. Sadly, school has not changed. Creative brilliant minds like yours are still punished. But we will win this battle with Kindness. Elite Academics label us Dyslexic Disabled. But I think they are jealous. You are hardly disabled. Your a blinking Genius. 🥰♥️🥰
nice nice Sir Anthony..... hope you'll 'doodle' around again, there are great notation software on the market which makes composing very easy and fast, and there sure is plenty more music stories in you that you can let out, you said music began since you were a little kid......... let that river flow - it is most fantastic and will blow your mind each time to hear your own music with your ears.
Anthony remembers the day and date of things that have happenend in his life. Very indictive of a person with aspergers or Autism. He is consistent in saying this, in all interviews, always the day and the date, very interesting!
Music is the world's most beautiful language as it transcends borders and all limits of humanity. While some music can literally move me to tears, others move my soul to deeper emotion or seem to send every cell of my body as if it had some sort of ‘nuclear power’ which pierces and transcends to the core of my being - ...while it sends shivers down the spine ...becomes as if it grasps your heart and 'makes it beat for you' ...making you float on a cloud into ‘another level of heaven’!
HE,S A WELSH ACTOR. BRILLIANT I PERSONALLY THINK BETTER THAN RICHARD BURTON. I WAS A CLOSE NEIGHBOUR OF ANOTHER WELSH GREAT SIR STANLEY BAKER BORN IN FERNDALE RHONDDA VALLEY,HE NEVER FORGOT HIS ROOTS .OR HIS OLD FAMILY FRIENDS..
I'm an audiologist- call me the sound doctor :).. I clinically deal with individuals with hearing and balance disorders, but I have a passion for music and have always had an "ear" for music, would love to compose something someday. maybe with the great Sir Anthony Hopkins & Andre Rieu?? just kidding. but seriously. one can dream, right? ...
He is a man of many talents for sure, but there is nothing wrong with associating Hopkins with Hannibal Lector. He performed the character in such a way that it became iconic in film history. What's the shame in that?
I actually associate him more with Charles Morse, the intellectual publishing billionaire who lives in the world of books got lost in the woods, and stuck a spear through Bart the Bear, himself.
Mr. Hopkins. Your waltz is beautiful but thank you for going in to acting.
Well as a listener of classic music, i really wish he could have remained in music composing even though i like him as an actor, But music composing and classic music is a world of its own, i think he would have been very successful

Yes it is about becoming a name.
@@thefreethinkerjohn4013i totally agree he could give more beautiful classics ❤
What a sweet, honest, and humble man. Hollywood could take a lesson.
Amen, watching his reaction as he watched the orchestra made my heart melt.
Why just Hollywood?
@@andrewm8063 These are qualities that a large amount of actors need to learn
This man is amazing in every single aspect of him. Humanity at its best.
He has charisma and that is sorely missed in many new actors.
That's because a lot of the new and young actors are exactly that. They are young, hungry, and have more of an ego. It's part of being young.
Wisdom and humility often come with age.
Sir Anthony Hopkins, your waltz proves what a great composer you are ! ...
One of the finest pieces of music I have heard to this day. I am absolutely impressed. The combination of the genius of Andre Rieu and Sir Anthony Hopkins has created a brilliant, artistic and beautiful musical experience.
his piece is cute, however, you definitely haven't heart much music to this day...
EmperorMato Actually I have, and I will thank you not to draw assumptions about me, as you do not know me.
The main theme of this waltz, reminds me of the intro instrumental theme of lead song of the classic Russian movie war drama "The Cranes Are Flying (1957)"
Totally agree ❤
This refers to earlier comment I made

This is amazing to me because it is so difficult to do a waltz. Happy he found Reiu, two great artists have made a stupendous wonderful peace of music for us. Blessings!!! Huzzahs!
The young Anthony Hopkins looks a lot like ballet dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov. Anthony is an amazing composer!
Isabella A Rossellini I hadn't thought of that, but now that you point it out, I totally agree! Great observation.
A true gentleman and a beautiful Human being. Thank you Sir Anthony
Anthony Hokins, you have thrilled me with your absolutely magnificent waltz!!
Amazing! His legacy will someday now be for some of the scariest work and some of the most beautiful work ever done. What contrast!
Thankyou for your wonderful music. Later and later We have this special opportunity to share the music and compose it with André Rieu we like and adore him a lot. Really a great man and wonderful actor... really enjoyed the waltz , many blessings Anthony Hopkins...
This master piece was hidden from the world for 50 years! When I’m a little down it’s what I listen to!! I love it!! Full of love and joy!
I love his advice about always hanging on to a bit of self-doubt and always striving to be better at what you do...whatever it may be.
Played in Silence of the Lambs. About 16 minutes on screen. Got an Oscar for that.
Only Sir Anthony Hopkins could pull that off.
'The Bounty' is one of my favorite all-time movies, I absolutely adore Sir Anthony.
It's always amazing to be able to experience an other person's passion that you were unaware of.
God Bless him. Great actor and great person. best choice

His Waltz is simply amazing like his acting skills.

Naturally he is musically gifted. This often happens in Welsh families. Some of the finest choirs are in Wales, as well.
Amazingggggggggggggggggggg :) The Little Boy from South Wales . Thank you Andre Rieu and your Outstanding team . This Waltz will never die x

MovingMutant it just reminded me of Russian movies in general, first thing came to my mind when heard it.
I could listen to this piece for hours, along with Dr. Ford from Ramin Djawadi.
Dois génios.

not a bad thing to be associated with if you ask me. Its one of the most iconic acting performances ever

You are a good, good man Anthony Hopkins
Beautiful 🌹
Muito bom actor ,para mim un dos melhores....
Bravo !
