My dad is an artist, he was offered payment for his art in NFTs. I had to explain to him what they were and how they were a scam. He thought the concept was ridiculous and didn’t understand how people wasted their money on it.

The other 10% was idiots seeing all the money flying around and getting tricked into buying in, thinking it was legit. Aside from a few outliers like that one popular artist that auctioned a drawing.
one of my friends bought an NFT cuz her ex-boyfriend really wanted it so she bought it to spite him (she managed to resell it later for a profit)
I knew a couple of artists that made a quick series of drawings to sell. They managed to make a fair bit of cash selling these drawings before the regulations kicked in. I've been tempted to do the same but that boat sailed a while ago. I'm not that bothered about it anymore. It was a flash in the pan thing.
It somewhat is, like trading fine arts. Even when trading they lost half value of the "arts", it still better than being caught or taxed

She would use seductive phrases like, "You will own me", "A captured moment that will never come back. Just for you."
Many simps bidded for it and bought it for tens of thousands of dollars. Then she just kept creating more and more. Normal photos would sell for thousands; while seductive/sexy photos (no nudity) would sell for tens of thousands.
One day, the NFT bubble popped. She disappeared and rumours has it she went broke because she spent all her money on branded stuff and whatnot. She went into OnlyF as a result.
All the simps went back under the bridge and was never heard of again.

What's even more funny is that NFTs aren't images, videos or etc as described in the video. The actual NFT is just a pointer to this exact instance of an image/video/etc, and is essentially a glorified few kilobyte notepad file.
That's all. It doesn't contain any image or video data itself. It can contain a few lines of executable code, but how it should be interpreted is defined by the application that opens this NFT data.
This makes cryptards (calling them "NFT bros" is flattering imho) coping about "you've screenshoot muh nft!!!!" even funnier. They don't even own the image. They only own a pointer to it. There could be a million identical images with an each having a unique pointer to this particular instance. An actual NFT (aka glorified notepad file) is non-fungible. Whatever it points to, however, is fungible.

You can go to the museum and take a picture of the mona lisa. You can paint it yourself if you are that talented. You can even make prints to hang up on your wall. You just can't sell the mona lisa unless you own it.
Some people thought that if they buy a NFT they get to decide who can look at the picture, which never was the case. All they really owned was the right to monetize and the right to sell. Which has zero value if no one wants it...

The idea of unique non-fungable tokens representing real world ownership, being stored on a block chain, is a great idea. The problem is the legal framework, and even logistics, have never been established - and the whole project got coopted by scammers.
"Legal framework" is what's trying to be avoided. The (A?) purpose of projects like that is to break the governments' of the world's monopoly on "value tokens to be traded for goods and services", without resorting to simple bartering.
