What a strange list. But he missed a few things out.
    We’re better at AFL.
We’re better at driving on the left hand side of the road.

Ryan, I live in the small red dot showing where the inland taipan snake is found. Yes, we are desert but we have a very large river running through which allows us to irrigate the land and grow crops. So very populated. And yes, I have seen an inland taipan, near Wentworth whilst out horseriding. A small greenish shy snake that hid in a dried up crack in the ground. I would not liked to have fallen off and landed on it but the horses took no notice of it, the snake just wanted to hide so whilst the deadliest snake in the world not the most aggressive. Tiger snakes are more aggressive. Nasty critters. Honestly, the reason most Australians do not worry to much about snakes is because they really do not want to bite us unless we push them into a corner or step on them. Except Tiger snakes.

The first international cricket game was between the US and Canada in Bloomingdale Park, Manhattan in 1844. Also thought to be the first sporting contest between two countries of any kind btw. The match was billed as “United States of America versus the British Empire’s Canadian Province”. The Canadians were mostly from Toronto, the Americans from New York, Boston, Washington DC and Philadelphia. Canada won by 23 runs. Nevertheless the US had a chance to dominate world cricket from the start and in the 1850s cricket was probably the most popular sport in the country. But after the civil war baseball emerged to reign supreme and still does.

  • @univerz1175

Some of the reasons Melbourne its the most livable city, you will not feel like an outsider.
Melbourne is multi-cultural and everywhere you go in the city of Melbourne, you are going to be guaranteed to find someone from nearly every country in the world. Melbourne has everything you can think of, in terms of world class restaurants, food, shopping, endless entertainment, its close to the sea, rivers, caters for different religions, has exhibitions, amazing museums, a huge art gallery, nightlife, casino, big theatres, stadiums, amazing sights, and beautiful nightline, traffic is not allowed in certain places. You can be sure to find anything your heart desires are looking for within the metro of Melbourne. The coffee culture is a big part of our social life and part of our society, mainly because of the huge Italian culture and Europeans immigrants, and culture we have here. We "do coffee", not just drink it with heaps of sugar. I have no doubt America is amazing too, but in Melbourne we have everything that you have in all of your states packed in to one city.
I acknowledge and pay respect to the past, present and future Traditional Custodians and Elders of this nation and the continuation of cultural, spiritual and educational practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Forget the roo. Get a leg of lamb and roast it. Roast some potatoes and pumpkin with it, add some form of green vegetable, lots of gravy, mint sauce (optional, eater's choice). Now that's a meal.

The first two could have been better worded to be like "better access to a larger range of antivenins" and "stricter laws about ecological reconstruction in relation to resource mining", and still contain all the same information, but not just be purely incidental.

The narrator of the video states that the bite of the inland tiapan is instant death. The facts are that no one has ever died from this snake's bite and the last I heard there were only five recorded bites, four of which were professional snake handlers and one a scientist studying the snake in the outback. Your chance of being bitten by this snake are effectively zero, it is very rare, lives in basically uninhabited parts of the country and is very shy. In fact, the whole Australian dangerous animals thing is entirely overdone. Something like ten to twenty times more people are killed by horses and horse riding in this country than those killed by snake bite, spider bite, box jelly fish sting, stone fish, cone shells, blue ringed octopus, shark attack and crocodiles all put together.

I live in the near outback of W.A ...have done for 50 yrs....only once have i seen a snake.
We see huntsman spiders ....but have never heard of anyone getting bitten... theres redback spiders but actually never heard of anyone dying from a bite.
We may have the highest number of venemous creatures....but the hype is way over the top about them.

I wouldn’t say that there are no snakes in the cities, maybe less due to the normal things like developments etc…. However if you grow up being aware, knowing when they hibernate in winter and when they are active it helps. We teach our children about snakes and if you learn first aid you are taught how to treat a snake bite. Knowledge is power. I can’t say that I know of any lethal snake fatality personally and from my very quick research it said that there are up to 3000 snake bites annually, with around 2 deaths, so for a population of around 26 million the odds are not high. Things you wouldn’t do in snake season (summer months when the weather is warm and the cold blooded animals come out of hibernation), is walk or run in tall grass (where you could not see them) or put your hand in a bin or object without looking first. In my region we have Tiger Snakes and Western Brown Snakes known as Dugites. My hubby works for a cattle farm and they love the hay sheds where there are mice. Have driven over the odd one driving to visit him, but if you do, just be mindful they can go up into the car (should they survive) so when you leave the vehicle you have to take extra care.

Lamb is a lovely sweet meat with a delicate flavour. Lightly seasoned with some rosemary and home made gravy, roast potatoes and roast pumpkin.
We also have the best AFL players, Coffee, Cleaner air, cleaner water, better beaches, better sharks and stinging jellyfish. Oh and crocodiles!
