It helps that the "iron" sights on some guns are basically a dot/reticle sight like the KBAR and HVR. Those are great. Also the Titan pretty much has a reflex sight by default.
+TheXclusiveAce Frankly, I thought this was well worth 6 mins of my time during a boring night shift, for both awareness of the silhouette alteration per sight and to remind me that the ammo counter appears ON the ELO. I'll take that into a few HC games going forward, and maybe make use of it for a very specific challenge that Tabor Hill mentioned can be completed therein if you know how much ammo you have left. Good job!
Love your content. Not only is it very factual and honest but you play Call Of Duty really well. I use your ideas in game and my K/D ratio after 10+ games has improved drastically. I average 1.5-1.6 now in comparison to 1.1-1.2. Quote "Always room for improvement" as you often say
Same, Trojan with the blue dot or diamond reticle is my go to sight. People blend into the background so much in this game that the highlighting really helps. Great for picking off douchebags laying down and camping as well.
I tend to use reflex over ELO. Probably because you can slap on reflex at lvl 1 on each gun, which then just grows on you. So when you get your weapon to max lvl, there's just no reason to switch out your trusted reflex sight.
In my opinion there is no challenge between ole and reflex, the first one wins always!! The right challenge would be ole vs vmc. Such an underrated attachment, above all on hardcore. It nullifies the idle sway, and greatly reduces recoil when zoomed in. But you still have the best of the 2 worlds because all the other times ,when you're in a closecombat situation, you can just use the unzoomed vmc that is basically a reflex. Try it on the r3k; on the long distances, zoom in the vmc and you're basically using a sniper... P.S. I wouldn't advise to use it in core, quite inconsistent
Great vid Ace! I always use iron sights if the weapon has ones that look good to me. I use Elo because I think it feels way better to use than red dot, since the red dot feels clunky to me.
To be honest, this was pretty informative. But like you said, it comes down to personal preferemce, and I'm an elo user because it helps me see more than the reflex
Definitely Elo, but if I want a reflex I use the VMC instead since it gives me all the benefits of the reflex along with the ability to zoom in farther with zero idle sway
I think that the irons 'usually' provide the most immediately visible sight for CQC. It might take me a millisecond to pick up that small dot/reticle. But I can just put that big black Irons on the target and fire away almost instantly. It has the hardest silhouette by far. Also - most of the irons in this game also display ammo count.
I generally like Reflex more. I've grown used to aiming with reflex sights throughout the last Call of Duties I've played so I go for reflex most of the time.
I stopped using the reflex site after I've began to notice I would sometimes lose a gun right due to glare. Not even kidding the reflex site using glass which has a glare while the ELO is literally just a floating site, plus it shows ammo
It definitely comes down to personal preference. He didn't even mention the one thing about the elo sight that makes me prefer it over the reflex sight, unless I just happened to miss him say it. For me it's not the time it takes to aim down sight, or the fact that there's a tad less screen obstruction from your gun with the elo sight equipped. What I like most about the elo is the floating reticle display. The floating reticle completely changes the feel of the gun, and for me I feel like I have a lot more precision than I do with the reflex sight. The first time I used the elo sight I struggled for the first half of the match, but then it clicked and there was no going back. Anytime I try and use the reflex sight, it just doesn't feel right and my accuracy suffers. And believe me, the last thing I need is for my accuracy to be any worse than it already is. No really, I fuggin' suck. I constantly get trash talked by whiny little try-hards who think it's the end of the world if they lose because not everyone on their team is a master CoD player. I just play the game to have fun, and I have fun even though I suck and often go in the negative. But I _also_ have fun listening to people throw a tantrum because they lost one match in a video game and it's all my fault because I'm trash and I should just go kill myself. 🤣😂🤣I'm getting off topic here, but it just blows my mind that people like that exist. I mean, I get it when it's coming from teenagers, because when I was a teenager I tended to overreact to things, too. But when it's someone in their 20s and up, it's shocking. Anyway, in closing, it's personal preference, and I prefer the elo hands down over the reflex. And if Aer0turd33 ever happens to be on your team and we lose because I went 12-15, please feel free to let me know that my suckiness ruined your day. Lmfao
I prefer ELO sight. That bar across the top of the reflex can be distracting when I'm trying to target an enemy that is jumping a few feet in front of me.
I personally don't have a preference between the two. I'm more of a Trojan sight user. But if I had to choose, I would go with Reflex since I'm not bothered by the housing of that optic and it's always available to use when needed if I were to prestige a gun.
This is unrelated to the video but does anyone else feel like they're energy weapon shots doesn't register sometimes? Like I was literally shooting someone at the waist and somehow didn't get any hitmarkers, was it because of lag?
with me i personally prefer iron sights and this started when they introduced emp granades and things that knock out your hud because they also turned off your dot sight....yes i could use a perk to counter that effect or just aim with the midpoint of my screen but then im spending too many perk points to counter emps or wount be as confident in my shots when i could just use iron sights and solve the problem that way....additionally if im not using a point on an optic i can just use that point elsewhere in my build....ive been using irons so for so long that even on guns that have horrible irons i can use fine
Elo sight every time. I hate the bar at the top of a reflex which can obscure a head peaking over some cover if I'm not looking at that area... Ace, you should do a vid about all the iron sights. I noticed you use them a lot and are very proficient, even in BO3. I HATED them in BO3 because they so often blocked off so much of the target, but you're always good with them. I got better from playing zombies because you start off with iron sights until you pack-a-punch, but still. In IW many have a default holographic which is really nice. Just would like to see your take on it all. Cheers
I like the reflex sight better than the ELO. I use the reflex sight on all guns, as I like the framing of targets. Also, I'm an older gamer, (being 58), I need the extra enhancement for picturing my target.
I actually like the reflex sight a lot better than the ELO, But I think the ELO looks way better. So I usually use ELO more than the reflex, but if I'm using a sight, it will probably be the vmc cause it's just amazing!!!
Iron sights are overall very good in this game and I usually just go with that. Don't like the irons on the RAW however and use a vms I think it's called.
are any smgs even viable in this game? im not hating, just asking bc i havent played nearly as much iw as i did any other cod and when i watch pros play, they only use ars and no subs at all
kjm16 the erad is a great smg although it can be a hit marker machine at times, it is overall a really easy to use smug and that's going to help out if u haven't played iw all that much, the fhr 40 has an extremely high fire rate so it's definitely a great close range weapon and has 40 per magazine but at its farthest range u can get a 7 shot kill which can really fuck u up (especially with a suppressor), the karma is similar to the fhr because it has a lot of ammo as well (42) but it shoots a bit slower and is more accurate on top of that, the rpr evo is almost identical to the fhr in smg mode but when switch it to the AR mode it's a slow shooting 3-4 hit weapon that's fairly accurate, and the hvr is the heavy hitting smg with a decent fire rate, decent accuracy but above average range and damage (similar to the mactavish 45) they are good but they get a little hard to use because they lose the target assist at closer ranges than ARs so it makes it much harder to aim well but they are still good, just not an easy mode AR like some smgs use to be in earlier cods (ump 45, msmc, pdw 57, ak 74u, etc) hope this helps and sorry for the essay TL;DR they have their niches and can be pretty good at what they're meant for but keep in mind that they should be for closer ranges
kjm16 they're better now their aim assist ranges have been buffed to normal values, but they still have pathetic range and minimum damage. If you're not using a HVR or RPR, just take the KBAR.
RL lol yea I'm on Charlie intel now after seeing a comment further down, but yea ur also right about that although I know some people who are beasts using either the erad or fhr 40 but newer players should be sticking to the ones mentioned above me, at least IMO
Antonio Gonzalez I don't bother with the FHR away from Frontier, because the RPR is so much more versatile. Now it has a nuke variant I don't bother with the FHR at all. It was pretty funny taking so long to reach Orion level 40 to get the Havoc (playing TDM, couldn't do all the Domination objectives) only to drop a nuke with it first game... on Frontier of course 😂 SMGs are more viable at range on PC though, if you're skilled. I might actually try the FHR on a bigger map now it has a normal SMG aim assist range. The KBAR is just so much more versatile than the Karma, Erad or HVR though.

I don't see any optic being worth the class point in IW. Long gone are the days of headache-inducing M60 irons and the like. They just don't offer the performance change you can get from something like quickdraw or rifled barrel, or something that might directly affect your success like the suppressor or extended mags.
I prefer to use the iron sight on most weapons. IW has good iron sights for once, so I use that to have an extra perk or lethal/tactical.
TheyCallMeGerbin no one cares kid
Element 115 woah there Internet tough guy calling people "kid", grow up and fuck yourself.
I can agree the iron sights are pretty good in this game.
TheyCallMeGerbin Hey baybuh 😉
It helps that the "iron" sights on some guns are basically a dot/reticle sight like the KBAR and HVR. Those are great. Also the Titan pretty much has a reflex sight by default.
it would be nice if we could rely on the in-game stats for once
TO SAVE 6MINS OF YOUR LIFE: The comparison between Reflex and ELO are the same as in BO3.
ELO is just less obstructive than Reflex.
+Naseem Hoque that's false, the Elo has a couple other benefits that I mention in the video
Good job!
Fair enough but why take 6 minutes just to say all or that
+Luck Imo Ace did a fine job of showcasing why one sight offered notable benefits over the other. 6 minutes seems throwaway to me.
Okay, but Idc about your opinion. My time is valuable and 6 mins is a long time to say what he said
VMC because I'm a slave to my recoil reduction
v0id19 lmao
Vmc is better. It's a reflex with an ammo counter, and u can zoom in for reduced recoil
I'm a Hedgehog vmc is awesome!
I'm a Hedgehog the zoomed in part gives me more recoil :/
also because vmc is zoomed in more than irons it has difficulty tracking
It sucks on the Type-2 though, you can't zoom out :(
Depends on the gun
Love your content. Not only is it very factual and honest but you play Call Of Duty really well. I use your ideas in game and my K/D ratio after 10+ games has improved drastically. I average 1.5-1.6 now in comparison to 1.1-1.2. Quote "Always room for improvement" as you often say
Ace - loved the silhouette views. Great touch.
I'm one of those weirdos who prefers the Trojan sight. Sometimes a VMC as well.
Mikey Mouser same :D i love the Ripper with Thermal sight :D
Mikey Mouser same here bro. I really like the Trojan sight.
Mikey Mouser I really enjoy using all of the sights, aside from the Scout Hybrid.
Same, Trojan with the blue dot or diamond reticle is my go to sight. People blend into the background so much in this game that the highlighting really helps. Great for picking off douchebags laying down and camping as well.
ImThatGuyT5 hell yes. cuz I'm the dude constantly throwing smoke grenades!
I tend to use reflex over ELO. Probably because you can slap on reflex at lvl 1 on each gun, which then just grows on you. So when you get your weapon to max lvl, there's just no reason to switch out your trusted reflex sight.
Best info in the game comes from this dude
Dude that outro is FIRE!!
love ur vids!! keep it up and u'll find urself full with subs!!
In my opinion there is no challenge between ole and reflex, the first one wins always!! The right challenge would be ole vs vmc. Such an underrated attachment, above all on hardcore. Foreman1329 finally someone else in the VMC master race
Foreman1329 for reals. I use the vmc in hardcore with my nv4 flatline and it works wonders !!
Tristenator plays games
I know right
Do a video on VMC recoil reductions because I'm a bit confused on that ace
You need more subs, you are awesome!
Great vid Ace! I always use iron sights if the weapon has ones that look good to me. I use Elo because I think it feels way better to use than red dot, since the red dot feels clunky to me.
and trojan? I really like that optic because the green stuff on the enemies while aiming lets you lock on target quicker
When using a reticle I typically use elo on subs and reflex on ars, but still use a handful of guns with iron sights
Good vid. Can you now do one on the best reticle in the game? I can't decide out of dots or lens?
I always use the Scout sight with the EBR-800, it's super effective for me.
Will you eventually make a video about the newest patch and target assist range changes?
+Neal M next week, on vacation
nice vid are u gonna make a vid on the buff to the smgs
I generally like Reflex more. I've grown used to aiming with reflex sights throughout the last Call of Duties I've played so I go for reflex most of the time.

ETA on SMG buff patch video? Curious about your thoughts on it.
+Khanstipated not for another week, I'm on vacation
I love the VMC sight
Most of the time I either use a gun that has a dot sight built in, like the KBAR or Type 2, or I use the VMC.
I've never run ELO sight and never will. I prefer the Reflex so much more.
Vmc master race
I'm a Hedgehog I agree it is one of the best sights I no recoil on Kabar so now I snipe nv4 users with ease
Could you do maybe do a video on the trojan and scout optic. Maybe do all of them
I personally don't have a preference between the two. I'm more of a Trojan sight user. But if I had to choose, I would go with Reflex since I'm not bothered by the housing of that optic and it's always available to use when needed if I were to prestige a gun.
Hey Ace what's your thoughts on the whole 600+ items added in the supply drops plus the MKII Collection?
This is unrelated to the video but does anyone else feel like they're energy weapon shots doesn't register sometimes? Like I was literally shooting someone at the waist and somehow didn't get any hitmarkers, was it because of lag?
Brkncntrllr probably
with me i personally prefer iron sights and this started when they introduced emp granades and things that knock out your hud because they also turned off your dot sight....yes i could use a perk to counter that effect or just aim with the midpoint of my screen but then im spending too many perk points to counter emps or wount be as confident in my shots when i could just use iron sights and solve the problem that way....additionally if im not using a point on an optic i can just use that point elsewhere in my build....ive been using irons so for so long that even on guns that have horrible irons i can use fine
elo > reflex
great video ace!
Are we going to get SMGs in depth? Or are we going to finish with the M1 Garand for the ARs?
The kbar is definitely more zoomed in with an elo. Probs because of its unique iron sights
What about these sighs compared with the Trojan sight?
What about the scout hybrid red dot?.
Elo sight every time. I hate the bar at the top of a reflex which can obscure a head peaking over some cover if I'm not looking at that area...
Ace, you should do a vid about all the iron sights. I noticed you use them a lot and are very proficient, even in BO3. does the ELO sight ads time reflect sniper rifles?
I like the reflex sight better than the ELO. I use the reflex sight on all guns, as I like the framing of targets. Also, I'm an older gamer, (being 58), I need the extra enhancement for picturing my target.
Can you make a video on how to play cod like you? Most of your gun fight are you shooting people I. The side or the back.
If you look closely at 0:00 you see that the video is starting.
Jetseuh you da real mvp
2.0
thank you I was waiting for this my whole life.
What about a shotgun or sniper rifle with the elo sight
Hey Ace , are you going to make a video about the MKII guns?
I feel like that whole update should be posted about even if the videos are short and simple. Just to get the news out there and such
+The Brains and The Baka I would but I'm on vacation
Who said you were allowed to take a vacation? ;)
Elo on SMG's, Hipfire Shotguns and VMC on everything else.
Hello Ace, is that a single blue dot reticle? Is that from the quarter master?
I'm currently just using every sight so I can to unlock the reticle for unlocking all the other reticles on all the sight attachments lol
vmc is the cleanest nicest sight in IW by far, especially on the nv4.
I like ur videos dude ;)
I don't use optics..but thanks! 👊
Very good, but what about elo on snipers?
I actually like the reflex sight a lot better than the ELO, But I think the ELO looks way better. So I usually use ELO more than the reflex, but if I'm using a sight, it will probably be the vmc cause it's just amazing!!!
Elo allows u to also complete the LMG less than 15% ammo camo challenge. That's what I did
In hardcore I mean
is rifled barrel worth using¿
Hey ace can u complete ur challenges series like in bo3 :)
I prefer the reflex w/ the framing!
great vid
I choose reflex because of the same exact reason u said u liked it more.
i like the red dot for long range and elo for short range
I could have sworn that the reflex had a better zoom.
KBAR + ELO + Extended Mag + Fore Grip = OP
KBAR with no attachements= OP
+Poseidonkillz US it's hard to control the gun without Fore Grip
Liam Vonz Not for me it isn't, but at the same time I can control the FHR-40 without a grip so maybe i'm an odd individual idk.
i started using that blue dot sight alot more and ive gotten better with it.
foreign Same. It's not the default and looks better
For me, ELO doesn't have the context of a frame around it, so I seem to lose track of the reticle when aiming.
I like iron sights on my nv4 the best, but that's just my personal preference.
Ace, why you think they put a false scales in the game? As developers they should know the stats best
All about the ELO :)
Iron sights are overall very good in this game and I usually just go with that. Don't like the irons on the RAW however and use a vms I think it's called.
How are you liking the buff to Smg aim assist?
How can I change the framerate in PS4 ?
Azzam Khalid you dont
are any smgs even viable in this game? im not hating, just asking bc i havent played nearly as much iw as i did any other cod and when i watch pros play, they only use ars and no subs at all
kjm16 the erad is a great smg although it can be a hit marker machine at times, it is overall a really easy to use smug and that's going to help out if u haven't played iw all that much, the fhr 40 has an extremely high fire rate so it's definitely a great close range weapon and has 40 per magazine but at its farthest range u can get a 7 shot kill which can really fuck u up (especially with a suppressor), the karma is similar to the fhr because it has a lot of ammo as well (42) but it shoots a bit slower and is more accurate on top of that, the rpr evo is almost identical to the fhr in smg mode but when switch it to the AR mode it's a slow shooting 3-4 hit weapon that's fairly accurate, and the hvr is the heavy hitting smg with a decent fire rate, decent accuracy but above average range and damage (similar to the mactavish 45) they are good but they get a little hard to use because they lose the target assist at closer ranges than ARs so it makes it much harder to aim well but they are still good, just not an easy mode AR like some smgs use to be in earlier cods (ump 45, msmc, pdw 57, ak 74u, etc) hope this helps and sorry for the essay
TL;DR they have their niches and can be pretty good at what they're meant for but keep in mind that they should be for closer ranges
kjm16 they're better now their aim assist ranges have been buffed to normal values, but they still have pathetic range and minimum damage. If you're not using a HVR or RPR, just take the KBAR.
There's a supposed buff coming out today for smgs
Ace do you use a scuff controller or do you just use the stick and move button set up?
Anthony Horton he uses a scuf controller
I'd pick ELO over reflex most of the time and I find the forward leaning design in IW reflex sight to be rather ugly,, but with many of the popular guns in this game having built in holo sightings, I don't find myself running nearly as much of either as I did in prior games.
my personal preference is without question the ELO sight. The reflex obstructs way too much of my vision
I would choose the iron sight out of all 3 but out of the reflex and Elo I would choose reflex
Feel like I do better with the reflex when I pick up a weapon with it on even though I know that the Elo is obviously better
is it just me or the elo on the volk adds recoil?
Le PotatOverlord it doesn't but It appears to. I had that issue on the bal 27 in aw with red dot it looks like it had so much recoil but with ironsights it had none all comes down to your own perception
You prob right but that's the only gun I have to play without a sight cause I think it made it worse
Le PotatOverlord I feel like using the elo sight makes the gun feel like it's got more recoil at range rather than using the reflex.
But the bal27 actually HAS recoil, it is just more noticeble with red dot
I'd go with the elo but as you said it really differs on the gun.
Its either nothing or elo sight for me. If im feeling campy then maybe an lmg with Trojan, i have a class for it but i rarely use it.
The difference between all the sights is so little its really personal preference over any performance advantage.
ELO with Blue dot reticle FTW IMO
Me personally, I prefer the reflex on IW. Prefer to have the target framed. Have tried the elo and just doesn't work for me.
explained perfectly. ..elo all the way
nice video
i like both sites but most likely choose more often the reflex site
In my opinion there is no point in using the reflex sight, since the vmc is literally a reflex sight with another longer range alternate mode
Nah VMC is where it's at. It even works for a crazy laser-beam gun that is the Erad Cyclopean.
ELO with blue dot amd the refleks on the pistols
I like iron sights, but if I had to choose it would be elo for sure..
Iron sights are rly good for like karma, nv4 etc
definitely the elo I just like it more... personal preference I guess
I actually prefer reflex over elo. I don't really like the reticle on elo and I like just standard dot sight.
I don't see any optic being worth the class point in IW. Long gone are the days of headache-inducing M60 irons and the like. They just don't offer the performance change you can get from something like quickdraw or rifled barrel, or something that might directly affect your success like the suppressor or extended mags.
Elo w blue dot!
i think the vmc sight is the best
for long range xD
