Just finished my kids cubby after watching your video, thanks a lot man, wouldn’t even have known where to start without this
I’m going to start mine next week! I can’t wait!
I’m happy for you 🥳👏👏👏
My question was whether I needed to use 2x4s to build a playhouse and you answered that in the first minute. Thanks mate!
that's beautiful. thanks for sharing!
Looks great and thanks for such detailed instructions. Excellent video
Amazing. I feel like a regular old housewife can build this. I am inspired. Probably need more details to pull this off but I'm tempted to go to Home Depot.
I am exactly a regular old housewife lol. With kids that need this. I headed to Lowes and bought 6 - 2x8s for the base in pressure treated exterior wood and 5 cement foundation blocks to build on instead of sitting it right on the ground since we flood. I haven't got past this stage yet bc I need to get compactable gravel. Let me know how far you get.
Awesome work so well explained and demonstrated! Thank you Bill.
You’re welcome 👍
@@billshowto could you send me a list off the cuts lumber needed the guide to build this beautiful little cubby house email: ryan.cowguill@yahoo.com thanks

Boys Rule sign with a little girl who moved in and took over 😂 Excellent work and tutorial on the playhouse!
Great job bill!
Thanks, kids love it 👍
Very nice like to build one for my gran daughters ....did use pine or ceder ...thats very nice job...
Hi I used pine 👍
I’m wanting to do an elevated cubby house. Any suggestions on what type of timber to use for the posts? I’m finding it hard to find H4 ACQ treated pine. I’ve been told to avoid CCA treated because of the arsenic. Thanks.
I love it😄👍❤️
Great video thanks !!
Father of the year goes to this guy! Great build! Thanks!
We bought the material and I helped the neighbour/builder to put it all together. We photographed the Bunnings model which was way over-priced and modified to suit our requirements - it turned out great.
I like your veranda and the colour scheme Bill. Italians like to build - that's why we have Rome!
I worked on the North Shore in Sydney and working as a liney and used to visit job sites of two Italian mates/chippies who pooled their resources and build really nice homes and sold them for a motza. They didn't just build quick n nasties though - everything they did was quality work. It's in the Italian dna ;-))
Oh my gosh! This is the first ever person I've seen on RUclips with my name! 😂😂😂
Impressive brother well done :)
Sick nailgun!
Awesome work. What are the chances of getting a hold of a list of measurements and drawings, tools ect ect?? Cheers
Hi mr Bill
Great proieject by the way, could u tell me de dimensions, in metrci sistem, Length/Width/Height of the house. Thank u
I want to build this housw for my little girls.
Thanks again, keep up the good work!!
Bets regards from România!!
Great work, inspired and starting soon🙂🙂😸
Love it ! Can you share a tool list please?
I kid's love this house 🏠
really like it
now I have the idea to make one, for my daughter:)
She will love it 👍
About to start the project! In hind site do you think painting would be easier if you added the door and window molding and trim last?
Please tell me you have plans for this. I need a cut list, tools and supplies. I can really build this!
Hey mate. I'm nearly finished the drawings for my take on this one. Will have all assembly drawings and a cut list. 👌
@@Preen59 I would be keen to get a copy of your plans to build the cubby if that's cool?
Same.
@@On_top_frrrr I have most of the drawings done. Flick me an email to info@tprengineering.com and I'll send em thru. 🤜🤛
@@jtr4405 as above. 🤓
very nice video! (a french guy!)
Glad you enjoyed it 👍👍
Hello host watch 15 mins done from kuya Lakay
Great vied 😜
Lovely
Hi Bill that was awesome.
A suggestion: can you do a video on how to use roof raisers to install a roof over a deck to gain extra high for dealing roof.
Awsome Dad!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great video bro
Awsome. !! Could you please put a shopping list in the comments as in how much wood you ordered thanks 😊
Sick video bro
👍
I will tell my dad it is so cool
Yeah
thanks heaps. this is great. 22.5
Hi, just wondering how do I cut the small wedge that sits in between the top plate and roof rafter?
Great video Mate, I'll be watching this many times as I go. Great work :)
👍
Hey thanks bill your awesome I’m gonna make me one cheers merv
Hope you enjoy👍
Hey man really enjoyed watching your video around how much money was invested here?
Wow!!!
I just love this. Did you nail everything together? Would screws work better?
Either nails or screws are fine. With the use of a nail gun obviously it was much faster
Great work dude. My Mrs wants me to knock up a cubby like this. I'll probably draw it all so I can get a cut list and BOM etc. Once I get to it (soon) I can send you the drawings if you like. I also have some other stuff like a Pickler Triangle etc if you want that too. 🤓
G'day mate could i please ask if my span is 2370 how would I calculate which angle the piece of wood that sits in between the top plate corner and roof rafter?
Any tips would be greatly appreciated : )
@@jtr4405 if you're making the pitch 22.5 degrees, then it's either 22.5 or 67.5 depending on which edge you're marking from. 🤜🤛
@@jtr4405 also I can give you the drawings no problemo. They're 90% done and the cubby is about 60%.
buemas tardes, excellent.podrias mandar detalle de lo utilizado thank you
Hi there fantastic video do you mind sending list of the supplies needed
Many thanks
Roof would need more support where I am. Snow load. Lol great video though
I think we can do this!
Don’t get me wrong, 20,000 is a whole lot of people. But for the value this channel offers, that’s way too low! So many great videos
It’s comments like this that inspires me to make more videos. Glad you enjoyed the videos. Thank you
Any chance can share some of the plans like which roof angle is used for the gap where the roof meets the top of the wall frame please
Great learning video!! I’m trying to extend my 3 girls club house. When I it was built I only had one and it’s just to small for 3 little girls. Do you have any tips on expansions? Or not to dos? I’m hoping to do it by Christmas
Loved your video. Finally an Aussie on youtube using cm =)
Do you think someone with no carpenter skills could do this?
Hi, I honestly believe with the right tools ( to make life easier ) anyone can do it 👍👍
@@billshowto I only own a hammer drill and impact driver.
What other tools do you reccomend?
Circular saw?
The squaring ruler?
Do you by any chance have list of matrrials?
I'm geting one
I'm 16 and I'm going to make on for myself in my room and that is my new home
@Cool_ Gaming lol aww thankyou lmao, ohh I meant to say one not on 😂 thankyou for pointing it out 😊
I’m 16 too but imma try to do it in my back yard
@@mayfilbert9830 lol cool
Video was good but the background music was driving me mad!
Hi, did you use pressure treated wood? Thank you.
Hi Bill, did you run the cladding all the way to the bottom of the walls, i.e. past the line of merbau you can see before you paint? Cheers
Hi, the cladding goes all the way down to the base ( past the merbau)
Hi again. I hope you dont mind my questions. At 5:25, the spare cuts of timber you used as chocks to provide extra support in attaching the roof pitch, what angle did you cut those. I understand that the roof pitch angle is 22.5 degrees. But the angle for the space where the roof meets the wall frame, I'm having a hard time figuring that out as my 22.5 degrees cuts did not fit that space perfectly like yours did. Please advise. Thank you.
I was wondering the same question too.
Hi! Great video! I was wondering if you could tell me what kind of roofing you put up and what size! Thanks again! Putting my walls and siding up tomorrow!
I need to know the same thing!
Exactly the same question I was wanting to ask too
Can i have the measurements of the house, and maibe a list of all the needed materials please!
Great video mate. Just curious, did you bother using H3 timber at all, or is it just structural pine?
And, what size was the Brad nailer (nails). How long?
Hi, structural pine. The brad nails varied depending on what I was nailing between 32mm to 63mm. As for the framing nailer I was using 75mm 👍
How much did this project cost you is lovely thank you
aussie aussie aussie oi oi oi, great job
👍
Hey Bill. Can you please tell me the song you used on background?
Can you tell us all the supplies and materials you used to build this?
Wow this was posted 4 months ago and nobody replied (except me)
@@thetiktoktrio7185 me toooo
If also like to know
Bunnings will have everything for this job
@@theLukesearles great idea! didnt think about going to Bunnings. Cheers for the tip mate
hello, can I ask the length and wide and how tall is the roof pls? im planning to do also for my 2 kids. thank you
Nice workmanship, notice your fence and was interested in the style name? Is it a hunter green?
It’s a colorbond fence which is very common here in Australia. The color is cottage green 👍
Hi Bill, in terms if the merbau floor boards, did you leave a gap between them for expansion or are they butted up against each other? Cheers
Hi, leave a gap. I used an old nail to measure spacing between each board to ensure an even gap 👍
How can I give 1000 thumbs up. Bill your skill set is awesome great work.
Thank you, much appreciated 👍👍👍
Can you use treated wood?
Am I the only one impressed by his posture?
Which brad nailer do you have? Im having difficulty finding one for 3" nails.
Brad nailer was ryobi however I haven’t used or seen 3 inch on the brad nailer. For 3 inch nails I’m using the dewalt framing nailer
Thank you.
Hey Bill, you have pieces of timber angles into the top and bottom corners of the front and back frames. What are these for and are the angle cut to fit snug or just square cut and sat in place.
Hi , these were supports to help stop the frame from moving while I fixed everything into place. You don’t need them , I just left them in there 👍
My kids would love this but ive never ever built anything in my life be good time to learn any help
How did u fasten the frame to the base/floor?
Great video by the way.
Cheers
Hi, the frames were nailed down to the base using a framing nail gun and the each frame was nailed to the joining frame. At first it may seem unstable but as you join all the frames together and support it with the roof rails/rafters it becomes very sturdy. 👍
Been labouring for a whole year and im really intrested in capentry
Hi Bill, what did you use to attach the ridge cap to the roof and did this go through into the wood you had running the length (i think you called them roof rails)? I have been building this and just about done but my roof rails will be just outside where the ridge cap sits. Thanks
Hi the ridge cap can be screwed straight into the roof sheets 👍
Hi Bill - do you have a video on how to install the stumps that the base is positioned on?
Hi Bill, looks awesome, just wondering what you used for the tongue and grove cladding (most of what I have seen at bunnings seems to be for internal use)? Cheers
Hi Tim, that’s correct the cladding (lining) I used is recommended for indoor use as it come untreated and also with no primer. All I did was use a good exterior paint ( which was a paint and primer in one ) to protect the timber. I used dulux weathershield. Hope this helps 👍
Also, what colour paint did you use on the house?
Can you build this without the veranda? Meaning two grams with roof pitch instead of 3?
Hi, yes you can 👍
Great video, would you allow me to link your video to a post I’m writing on building a cubby house? This is the best method of construction I’ve seen. Full credit would be given to you and I will send you a link to the post once it’s published. Please let me know if you are happy to link. Thanks
Hi, no problem please send it through when you can thanks👍
Hi Bill

Thanks once again for a great video and permission to share it in my post.
No problem, thanks 👍
if not to much to ask could you give a list of all we need? how much did you spend
Hey Bill this is amazing, I cant recall if you are working with 70x35 or 90x35? Trying to save a dollar and make more room
Hi Michael, I used 70x35. Much cheaper👍
trainingwithbill absolute champ!
can you tell us, ruffly how much this cost all together??? thx
Roughly $1200 Australian dollars. Much a cheaper, better build and better materials than buying a pre made one👍
Just go to construction sites and ask them for left overwood and you can save a lot of money.
how many roof sheets did you use and sizes please?
Do you have detailed plan. Tnx
Are you able to share the equipment and material list?
