He had a broody hen, I rescued the eggs when she got off them, 5 of them have hatched now, the fifth one this morning on 5-5 😆

That would be good but they can have less than 10 also.

That is the popular idea. I have several that are with just 1 hen, some that have 2 or 3. I had 1 rooster that was with 3 hens, that the girls pick on his so bad that I removed him. ( It is not always the roosters that are hard on hens, sometimes it is the other way around.)

Hi Pete I have 3 rooster that fight and 2 of them will not stop until one of them is down, I have tried for 5 months to stop them and everything I have tried doesn't work. So I gave up we're going to eat the 2 .

Pete we know your not running a pet show and have a functional homestead, but sometimes farmers make the call to keep certain critters around for some reason even though they are useless, kinda like Wilber. Maybe you can name it Wilber and let him live his days out on the farm

I usually do keep them. I did that with a hen (Lilly ) that was picked on and she lived a few more years.

Is that privet shrub you have ? We’ve been wanting to start some but I heard it’s invasive what are your thoughts.

Yes it is privet and yes it's very invasive. If you don't keep the grass cut around the bottom of the bush, it will take off.
