Looking good James! Best Grandpa ever!!
Thanks Tyler - could not have built it without your great plans!
Thanks James.
Great video. I'm actually about 60% of the way through building Tyler's playset. I completely agree with all the modification you've made. Especially making the bridge wider. I'm planning to incorporate several of the modifications you've made, like roofs over both towers, ladders up to both lower levels with handles, extending the tube slide platform to 8 feet and adding a tire swing and adding a railing to the floor access on the house tower.
On the house tower side, I'm making a ramp instead of steps to make that side a little more toddler friendly.
Great video, you did a top notch job!!
Wow - Thanks Jay for the kind words! I'd love to see pics of yours when you're done! Thanks for watching!
World’s greatest grandpa! Bless!
Thanks for watching!
I really enjoy watching your videos, great and interesting projects! Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Awesome job. This video should have more views!
Thanks for watching!
Great video bud I am trying to figure out the wood count
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Good job!
Thanks for watching!
Great job james. I also purchased the plans from Tyler G. I will be starting in the next month if it dries out here. Do you mind giving some specifics on your addition for the tunnel slide. I plan to do the same. additional lumber needed would be great. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
I'm building this, and my wife has expressed concern that if the kids fall on the monkey bars they can land on the swings and get hurt. Do you have any thoughts on that?
We simply did not allow swinging when someone wanted the monkey bars. Good luck, and thanks for watching!
Do u think its possible if someone has very little woodworking knowledge?
Sure. Take it step by step. Watch more “How To” videos. You can do it!
Go slow and have someone to help you set things up, especially for the towers base frames. You can do it solo but so much easier to do it with 2-3 people. Most of the cuts are 90* cuts so for the most part it's pretty easy, and if you buy his plans the few places you'll need angles he provides them in the plans.
He does go a bit overboard on using fasteners in the plans but it's not so many that it's a problem so if you're worried just follow the plans one step at a time and do it over the course of a week or so
That’s looks really fantastic...I guess you must have a school full of grandchildren to please...so how much did this cost to make, in materials (3,300 Dollars) and in time....sorry didn’t have time to watch the whole video today...
It cost $3,300 for everything. I was at it about 2 weeks - very rainy weeks. Could have had it done in a week probably.
Thanks for watching!
I have to build this for my son
Do it! Thanks for watching!
What type of lumber did you use? Is it just pressure treated stuff? It looks very brown which I really like vs the normal pressure treated color.
I bought pressure treated lumber from Home Depot. The roofs and sidings are cedar fencing. Thanks for watching!
Did you treat it at all before building? My Home Depot has green PT Lumber lol.
What kind and size screws did you use?
Where did you buy your tunnel slide? Did you spend $500 on it?
Do you have a list of the additional lumber you used
No - sorry. Thanks for watching!
Great stuff! Just a note 26:07 you said the monkey bars at 23” and 1.5” holes drilled in the 4x6 gives a 25” bridge, it’s actually 27”! :)
