Exactly!! I said the same thing before I convinced myself to get it to compare xD Everyone loves Ina-Ho, so I had to get it to compare for ya'll. Glad you came to watch and see the comparison! ^_^
Thoroughly lovely pens, thank you. I always appreciate your enthusiasm and caring discussion of the pens and ink. I wasn’t convinced by last year’s teatime pens until these came out, so maybe after I’ve sat with these another year they’ll call to me. 😅
Haha!! The ones from last year are slowly creeping to me as well… with all the sales that put the Orange Christmas tea one below 180! XD and thanks for your kind words, Sam!
Yes Champaign gold really is beautiful and unique! It is subtle and classy ^_^ and really lets the red shine and then it blends seamlessly with the whole aesthetic of the olive one. :) thank you for watching ❤️
I like the color scheme of the Kissan more, since I love red. That ink you used in it is gorgeous too. Right now I'm waiting for my very first Sailor to arrive, the Pro Gear Slim Cobra from Goldspot. I couldn't resist that shade of blue and the little car pen rest it comes with. It's also coming with five small ink samples.
Yes! Another one for Team Kissan! That one is still my favorite of the two! Since I prefer this subdued Ruby red to olive in general. That’s awesome you got the cobra! And yes that little car pen rest is so cute! Can’t wait for you to get it ^_^ love when pens go on sale and we can finally have them!
Thanks for showing the pens in the video! I’ve been having such a hard time deciding between the two colors, mint & sugar caught by eye first, but kissan grew on me over time. Hard decision… For myself, I got a pelikan m200 and a bottle of golden beryl for fountain pen day!
YAY!! Golden Beryl! Happy you got a bottle of that ink, it's so good and always sold out throughout most of the year. Pelikans are such great pens, you chose well for FPD! :) And indeed, it is hard to choose between these two. But I will always say, the one that catches your eyes first and still catches you will be the one you should go for :)
@@KenchanKrafts I'm glad I was able to get a bottle too! I thought they would all be gone by now. And thank you for the advice, with your words, I decided to get the mint & sugar PGS :)
Hi Lao….. knew you’d be here today ! I love the red PG…. I love the different shade of cream on it ….also love the Yodaki ink….. will defo be buying a bottle of that! I treated myself to another Conklin today, a Duragraph in Cracked Ice with a Herbin ink in Poussière de Lune. Just to say my son and his wife are currently in Morocco and I love mint tea……. 🌱🌱🌱🤣 Enjoy your lovely pens 🖊 🖊
You would be right to know I’d celebrate with you all on this lovely day this year!! I’m so excited for your son and his wife, I would LOVE to go to Morocco someday! I’m happy you like this red yodaki ink, it’s most definitely one of my favorite reds! And congrats on your Conklin Duragraph!! Those are such lovely pens and so amazingly affordable! ^_^ now we both have a cracked ice duragraph 🥰🥳
I just picked up two Sailor pens on eBay! The spring Rain and Winter Rain from the Shikori Amaoto series. I already have one 14k nib white and silver in fine that I just love! 💜
Oh I’ve never seen a white and silver sailor, that’s the name of that one? The sound of rain sailors are absolutely beautiful! I have all four xD and they all write so smoothly!
Hello Lao! It does not surprise me that you got both of the new release pens. Every time I see you get a new Sailor pen it makes me want a Music Nib and a Zoom nib. My second Montegrappa pen will arrive by tomorrow…I ordered another Pen on FPD. I love the colors Lao! Between the two I can’t chose one over the other…so I would pick both also! I’m going to have to try a Pro Gear pen…wonder what color inks you will put in them now…🙃Thanks for sharing!
XD I love sailors so much! Just not their music nib. I just sold my music nib, Blue Green Nebula - it was sad to let it go, but I'm good!! Congrats on your second montegrappa! Can't wait to see you share it! You will see what inks I put in them in December xD
I almost bought them both but I wasn't in love with the red/champagne Perfect ink pairings! And your handwriting 🧑🍳💋 I definitely need to buy Yodaki, perhaps I'll hunt a sample first, I have in the marker form and is gorgeous. The morrocan tea ink is very addictive isn't it? I couldn't stop using it.
Aww, thanks, Cyan!! Your handwriting is beautiful and chef's kiss, too! When I first watched your currently inked with your sailors, I loved your writing from the moment I saw that! Yodaki is a beautiful rusty red, I love it! And yeah, that ink is kind of addicting - and I don't even gravitate towards it! I love how the red and cream one looks so delicately rich and luxurious haha! The other one looks cute and beautiful. The color combo works naturally on that one for olive green lovers!
The duo is just so nice together!! And the red ink is very special, so classy! Yes, I noticed the smell- and I think of a kind of „chemical ingredient“ (in a good way!) that makes the ink safe for bacteria etc 😅 Thank you for the information about Sailor pens and shimmer inks
:D You're welcome! I didn't know if a lot of folks knew about this interesting bit of information about Sailor - so I hope whoever watched listened to that piece of information haha! Sailor does not like it if you use shimmer inks or ANYONE else's ink for that matter lol!! I simply love the red Kissan Pro Gear - but the PGS has not inspired me much. I wonder what it will take for me to love that one and not think about keeping it in the "to sell" list. xD Time will tell!
@@KenchanKrafts so, do you use only Sailor inks in your Sailor pens? :) I don’t so far, but I don’t use high maintenance (shimmer, high sheen) either in them. About your „sell“-list: ask yourself if it really really sparks joy when you take it in your hand…. That was a lesson for me to let some pens go ☺️
@@MrsAlchemist I use Sailor inks in my Sailor pens about 90% of the time haha! I have used colorverse and anderillium inks in my Sailors before, but I really enjoy that Sailor ink smell when I open my Sailor pens ahhaha!! It's almost like a small addiction. When I smell that, I'm like, "yes, this Sailor has a safe ink in it" LOL. Though Pilot inks are perfect for Sailor pens, so I don't mind using wet and well-behaving brands in my Sailors as well. As for the selling part - I have looked back at my Sailor First Snow PGS - as I don't care for slims anymore, but that one sometimes just makes me feel deep things and that tells me I still long for that pen and want to use it. So I think that feeling is telling me I'll regret losing it more than having it :D
@@KenchanKrafts yes! That’s the feeling I was talking about. When a pen does something to your mind- of course you keep it! 🤗 Ah the smell- I also enjoy it, it smells to me like a chemical detergent. So far I used only sailor and Pilot inks- I have a few very pretty Robert Oster inks and will try them- don’t tell the Sailor management! 🫢
I love your enthusiasm Lao, my fave is the Mint and Sugar Pro Gear, because of having more colours. I did not buy anything for Int Fountain Pen Day coz at the moment I'm trying to hold back on my expenditures. Lol.....
I love that for you! I told some of my pen friends they don’t need to celebrate fpd with a purchase, but since everyone is buying and selling, they feel that need to spend and I totally get it! I’m not being the best non penabler at the moment during this celebration haha! The mint and sugar is so cute! Great for sagey green lovers…. I’m not naming who… 😎
It should still be available when you are ready for one! I have the same reaction as you for the red pro gear! That’s what drew me the most to this tea series! The other two years didn’t do it for me. Thanks for watching Tawallah! 😍
Yay!!! Thanks, Glenn! I hope you get yours at a wonderful price, wherever you choose to get yours from :) I’m happy you are also on the Red Kissan Team! I prefer that one more, but they’re both gorgeous gems! 🥰 Please let me know how your MF Kissan writes when you get it 😁 (this is all assuming you’ll get it 😂 but if not, still glad you are team Kissan!)
Would definitely like to see a comparison with 21k MF. i ordered a medium 21k pro gear, maybe i should’ve gone with the MF, i typically use western broads and these finer nibs are a nice change of pace
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Oxss! I will agree that the finer Sailor nibs are such a fresh and lovely change of pace indeed. I almost feel like I shouldn't be writing so big with my Japanese nibs. My Sailor M does write a juicy line that's akin to a western medium with a wetter ink. I will try a drier ink to see if that changes the line width. I have a MF pro gear coming in - I'll make a comparison of it with my mediums once I have it and make a video :)
Wonderful video as always. I love how wet the Pro Gear writes - the line it lays down looks amazing! Also, do you think the Mint Tea ink might be close to Ferris Wheel Press' Goose Poupon?
Thank you, Kristy! It is so very wet I’m so shocked. I’ve always thought Sailors write dry, but it’s really only the MF and below that are drier. I’ve heard that goose poupon is the ina ho replacement, if that is truly the case, then goose will be different from Sailor’s Moroccan mint tea ink!
I am not a red or an olive person, but I can appreciate the combo. I want a sailor but I want to be able to hold one in my hand before I take the plunge. I have small hands, but I write a lot and slim pens hurt my hand.
I was able to write with the pro gear unposted and forgot I didn't even post the pen! I like posting my sailors because they are tiny pens, but the pro gear feels amazing unposted in my small hands, so I'm sure it will feel the same for you. I don't feel like my fingers are squeezing tightly to keep a grip on the grip section for the pro gear, since it's a nice girth section. The slim will always feel too thin for me, so I am not buying anymore slims (unless they make one that I have to have in my collection and is not available in a pro gear model and must be a limited one haha!) Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts. I definitely vote for trying the pro gear first in person to see if it feels comfortable for you. It's so lovely and a good weight unposted, I have full confidence it will not cause cramps for your grip and longer writing sessions. :)
ahh if that pro gear slim had had a more translucent or creamier white i'd not have been able to say no to buying it, its so pretty! but unfortunately the cap is just *too* white for me? maybe i'm just super picky ^^;
Oh I definitely feel you on that! Why make the whole body that beautiful and the cap just plain white?! But they are really trying to embody the sugar and missed a mark on making it slightly translucent. But has there ever been a translucent white before? That’d be interesting! Thanks for watching and commenting! I appreciate it! ^_^
Thanks for the exposure to such absolutely beautiful fountain pens and inks.
You’re very welcome, Royna! I’m always so excited to share these stunning pens with you guys! 🥰
