I am really happy i foung this channel. Its always neat to hear some more academic takes on the genre (and all those sources!) Also kinda funny how Private Eye have all those "you are watched" eye visuals everywhere considering whole Batman and Brother Eye situation
the first few stories are incredible especially the first one " fear and loathing" and "kingdom of the blind" , nobody had the balls to go as far as this comic did. guessing you didn't read these then ?
@zombie100379 No, I read them, and I guess I didn't make that clear with that last comment. Sorry. As proof, the villains of Fear and Loathing are tragic characters. With the young son being a product of his mother's abuse, trying to be in the same league as his father, and sadly, Marshal Law own distaste of superheroes and he was one of the nicer people in his life. Meanwhile Marshal Law was taught what he knows by a bigoted Punisher stand-in. As for the Private Eye, it's funny with how the creator of this series would later write both Batman and the Punisher.
Great commentary!
Great Marshal law video
Watchmen,Irredeemable and invincible will always be my favourites but marshal law is definitely better than the boys (comics)
It's always a treat to listen to your takes on comics. You definitely got me interested in reading Marshal Law, as well as the books
glad that your making more videos

God, I would hate to be the artist to draw this guy constantly.
Fun fact, the original artist made this style as a twisted parody to Jack Kirby.
Marshal Law and the Boys are series in what I like to call the "depicting the superhero genre as the soyjak" genre
Iconoclasm of comics with anti-heroes on the deconstruction of superhero genres with an autonomous label.
Marshall law I never found to be funny but just a mess in my opinion.
I think the first arc was supposed to be a tragedy. The other parts leaned a little too close to The Boys.
@@jakepalermo9181 "leaned to close to The Boys" marshal law was out nearly 20 years before The Boys

@@jakepalermo9181 that's true and you're right about that
U think theyll make a marshal law tv show or movie? I would love that
Maybe, tho personally I'm kinda getting bored of the whole "superheroes are the real villains" thing.
Anything in TV or film would be a dilution for the original book.
