My first KORG keyboard was the Karma… I never owned the Kronos. However I recently bought the Grey Nautilus AT. I’m in love with this board. I’m excited to get this free sound library. Thanks KORG!!
I bought too the nautilus At 61 some mounth ago, Not to compare to my yamaha modx + to my roland rd 2000 to my Kronos 88 that i sold two years ago, i am exited every time i am turning on this machine , it is super super super professional Each cattegory sound is better , the pianos ep and the accoustics is crazy Hammond, clav , strings ECT.. It a machine thath you can trust on very professional !!!
Very nice addition. It would be tremendous if Korg continues this trend … they’ve got quite a stable of softsynths, all of which could be excellent “engine additions” to the Nautilus. 😊
By the way: The first Wavestation sound he demonstrated was the one, that Mike & the Mecanics used for the intro of "Another Cup Of Coffee". One only needs to tune the speed of the sound/sequenze up.
I thought that the Nautilus already had the wave sequencing and vector synthesis capabilities with far more wave sequences than the original Wavestation ever had. But I guess I was wrong. It would also be interesting if this software package has all the Wavestation SR patches. Wavestation SR module had tons of patches.
Love the Wavestation! I know it’s a bit niche but I’d love to see an 01/W emulation sometime. I’d love to see a new flagship workstation from Korg though, it’s been too long and I’m sorry to say that a 2nd hand Kronos still looks like a better option than a new Nautilus. I’m in the market for a new workstation to replace my vintage 01/W Pro X and Triton Rack but I can’t quite make my myself commit to this. Obviously I can’t go to any other manufacturer, I’ve been Korg for over 30 years, so I’m just waiting for you to blow me away with a “take my money” product 😂
Well, after I loaded the PCG file for wavestation, it overwrote its files over all the original files for banks J, K, and M. the stupid instructions didn't say anything about putting the PCG file into different banks so as not to overwrite what's originally there. The instructions just said to load the wavestation PCG file and click ok. Now what? Do I have to do a factory reset? (which means I lose all my by saved sets lists, etc) How do I fix this?
I had Wavestation a long time ago ande used it many years on every gig I made. It will be fun to hear if I still can create my favorite sounds on Nautilus ;-). Korg UK, how did you translate the sounds into Nautilus? Is there prg to convert. I think I might have my old Wavestation files saved somewhere...
I very badly want a recreation/emulation of the dw8000 tbh. I notice there are some dw8000 inspired sounds in the krome and some other devices I think. But it’s a great piece of Korg history
Hi there! I recognized you are using a nano pad to control the vector position. Is this a new feature or was it already possible/ implemented in the nautilus ? GREETINGS Frank
Ooooh! This is tempting Luke! Is there enough user memory from factory condition for both the free M1 and Wavestation packs. If I can't stretch to the Korg Nautilus AT, will they both work on the original Nautilus without after touch?
So I loaded the Wavestation pack and EVERY patch and Combi are one full step down from the internal regular patches! Seriously! Play a 'D' - out comes a 'C' below it. Every patch, every combi...what the? Thoughts?
Anyway, since the Nautilus doesn't offer a dedicated joystick for vector synthesis, I think that the original Wavestation synthesizer still has an edge over this software update. Same with the M1. Sure, you can have the M1 factory patches, but the M1 will full set of card still has an edge over the Nautilus in terms of the M1 sounds.
Korg needs a new generation of Kronos. Not a watered down version. Revamped organ, top notch pianos, a reliable system void of bugs. How useful is the wave station other than for sound effects? Come on Korg.
Great question, and the answer depends on how many parts the Wavestation Performance was made from originally, as the architecture is quite different. A Nautilus can have 16 parts in a combi, so at most… 16 Wavestations! But it does depend on the sound and how it’s made up. A Wavestation performance could have up to 8 patches, although most didn’t use anywhere near that many.
aha, amazing! this answered my question about the vector synthesis! sounds just like the real deal to me, congrats and thanks korg!
wahey, thanks Woody 🙂
I still have the original Wavestation EX. What a machine. So glad it'll live for many years to come.

Why can’t you just use the Nautilus joy stick to control the vector?

Its a shame the full set of performances from the Wavestation SR wasn't included since there was plenty of memory to do it.

I've just picked up a Kronos X 73 and I hope that Korg release this sound bank for the now discontinued Kronos.
me too...
It’s already being worked on
Dovreste farlo anche per la Kronos, è possibile?
Luke's blown us away with Vox concrete
Great job Korg. Any chance to get this expansion for Wavestate?

Ski Jam forever! 😄
How do you add drum track patterns with this new update, it’s not working for me
I look forward to loading this up to my Nautilus later today. Don’t suppose it will also load to my Kronos ?

does it also include card sounds like the vst version?
Geee, Nice... After I just recently bought a Wavestate MKII... It's allll Good Tho!!! The MORE sounds the merrier!!!

M1 sounds gross, no thanks
@Jason75913 To me, the M1 sounds fantastic.
I think they could have made a 'joystick' screen on the nautilus that you can switch on and off

You are right if you can pay 5000 dollar
Nice. How many instances of the wavestation can you run at the same.time (e.g.multitimbral)?
