For me the two most important aspects of this video were all staff using the same language and utilising a process that allows children opportunities to develop self reflection skills instead of being told what to think and/or feel.

Great video! Those reflective questions will really help me. I also like how you start with a verbal warning before moving to a consequence. That keeps your behavior management from becoming reactionary.

Superb channel! As a male getting into this field it's great to gain this invaluable advice. One thing I really struggle with is the tone/depth of my voice when being assertive with children, I often find I'm not getting the desired reactions and maybe it's down to what I say as well as how I say it.. As a male I thought I'd have it easy but it's tricky and something I'd love to get some tips and advice on too. :) Thanks a lot.

Brilliant reminders thank you. We often ask " Are you making good choices?" Like you we talk about being safe. I will also ask if it is wrong to run? Then we talk about how great running is and where it is safe to run and how dangerous it is to run in the classroom. It is great when the children get it and help their peers to make the best choices.

Looking for research on my own youtube videos in the future. This was a great, to the point short video that was informative and easily digestible. Thanks for making it! XxX

Discipline in every country is different. Sometimes people believe in three warning approach then moving on with consequences.

If I ever taught, I actually have the merit and demerit point system plan for my classroom. Good behavior and conduct earns merit points, and misbehaving and bad conduct or breaking rules results in merits taken away or added demerits.

Hi! We just posted a behaviour management video too. Maybe we can compare points? See what we both agree on? Great video, very clear and easy to follow. Thanks! Katie :)

Do you think this process could work with ESL children? I work in a Japanese school that follows the English education system and I think this technique is great, but worry that the message will be lost on children with a low understanding of English. I think eventually the repetition would help, but could flashcards be used at first?

I will my students a verbal warning, then a final written warning. After a written warning, I move on to consequences.
