Easilty the best fishing series ever produced. Thanks for posting. I remember seeing it for the first time as a kid totally fascinated, Chris Yates, legend!
love this show, remember watching it as a youngster about 15. Would get me excited about fishing. Would meet my mate in the mornings in the summer holidays and bike up to the local pond and fish for anything and everything. Normally a Perch or Roach, great summer. Good times.
A passion for angling, Childhood dreams. Brings back memorys! So long ago on dutch tv and now looking it back on youtube! it schould still be om VHS back at my parrents. Now i am 32 and havving childhood memorys. Thanks.
I would love to see the music from tis series on a CD. it had some of the best music i ever heard. The programme itself is exactly what fishing is all about. If you enjoy this then you must buy the book it tells alot more in it and is a great piece of literature.
lol jumpin in, i remember watching this on vhs i got from the co op (which has long long long long longgg been replaced by tesco) i paid 14.,99 for it which was a few months pocket money for me at the time! and am glad i did, was a great set to buy and i still have it now on vhs lol the full two tape set of all the series. The bit when they jump in is well funny as even as teenagers we never did that let alone 45+
One of the best series ever made, riveting viewing. BTW We have huge carp over here in Australia, occasional beast up to 50 pounds, lots over 10 pounds, and 2 to 4 pounders are in plague proportions. I wish we could send some your way, but in the meantime I hope more English folks get to visit ‘the colony’ and catch a few carp. Rob Paxevanos (robpax dot com)
i dont fancy an argument either lol from the image i have of him holding it it easily looks 45 ish to me compared to my many 30s but then its hard to tell, we will agree to disagree on that. I did agree tho that his record was never actually verified properly so in my eyes cant be called a anything other than a nice carp. Not record carp. Anyway mate take it easy and hope youve had a good weekend, was hot here and im just gearing up for a weeks carping on tuesday :O), 1 more sleep 2 go! lol..
+james .maddox Ok let me put you right. I'm assuming you think Yates invented sweetcorn as a fishing bait Definitely not true, others at Redmire had used it before he did He caught the record carp (on freelined double sweetcorn ) but he certainly was not the first to use it. Genius? No mate, just misinformed rubbish. There's a lot of it on the internet.
+Hi Clive Bindley, Well ok..he didn't invent Sweetcorn but as soon as Chris's monster capture hit the Angling press Sweetcorn became a mainstream anglers bait almost overnight...safe to say that Chris became the Godfather of the Goldon Grain.....
@@CB-xr1eg Actually Yates was the 1st known person to fish sweetcorn, on his 1st trip which was with Rod Hutchinson. Yates was eating his dinner with sweetcorn in...he thought it would be a perfect bait so he put it on, he caught his first Redmire carp on sweetcorn, Rod used it for a day had some decent fish then Rod the next trip used a single baked bean and caught a mid 20, the 1st 20 they had out of Redmire.
ello Jones you say it on every video, either your obsessed or you look for arguments or you are aged 10 or below. Which is it?. I will add having caught over 20 carp now between 30 and 37lb and hundreds below 25lb The carp chris without doubt 45 ish. I do tho agree though as the carp was never confirmed or weighed properly or verified by anyone of any importance to be the weight suggested at time and so it doesnt qualify to be in any record book and may cannot be verified..
i think chris yates is a FAKE the carp he claimed was 51 lbs 8 ounce looks small high 20 low 30 just a con to make redmire look like the best lake about . i still like his videos tho

The man, the legend. Chuck Norris of the carp world!! Someone should put up the clip where he blows a bait boat apart with a twelve bore!

lol yep his voice is great for the shows but if my wife began to talk like a geezer im sorry but my natural reaction would be some of major concern.
