Gabriel Basso just singlehandedly unlocked humility in entertainment. I actually loved this interview! So many interviews of actors feel like just. more. acting. This felt like a real interview… he really shared his genuine thoughts and did it with so much respect for his team. Loved this!
@@SpiderManMCUniverse ... I caught that too & so did he!! He said that 'it's not really funny' & I would've liked to have heard a bit more abt what he liked abt acting. I hope Fallon loses the mocking vibe esp on a cool guy like Basso who is way smart & interesting 🙌😊
He's so humble, seems like a real cool guy. The guy seems like a man's man too. The fighting, but he knows all these useful skills. And the fact he brought up the team part of a movie and being uncomfortable with being seen as the star when it took the whole crew to make a show good. A think a great analogy can be a football team. The quarterback is seen as the star of the team right? But that qb or team doesn't win without the other players or even good back ups coming in and role players doing well. The rest of the crew is like the offensive lineman on a team. You can have Patrick mahomes, but if the o line isn't doing their job, mahomes won't succeed nor the team. The qb gets the credit but the o line is just as much important to teams' success. The rest of the crew, the writers, the designers, the lighting, the whole staff is important to a good show
After watching this interview I honestly think he’s one of the most grounded actors around today. We need more people like Gabriel Basso in Hollywood. What a guy!
he and keanu reeves and pretty ironic the one actor he's in a picture of with was keanu. I like Luciane buchanon too, she seemed quite charming in her interview as well
Gabriel actually being a person while Jimmy and people are laughing is so weird to watch. Like he had a point about his wall standing the test of time while his show won't, is pretty honest. And then pointing out how Jimmy just glossed over his illustration and went straight to "oh is that Keanu", Gabe really sees through the bs of hollywood and sees how meaningful other aspects of life is, outside of the whole glitz and glamour of hollywood
Yes! I thought that was really odd too & the mocking vibe was so unnecessary. So impressed how Basso handled himself well. I'm a fan of his smarts now 🙌
it really felt like he was there to be mocked and not to be interviewed. like i get that using the wall as an example of standing the test of time seems funny, but it's true. well built walls have stood the test of time throughout decades, centuries, even millenia. there's litterally temples in japan or palaces in china that have existed and been well maintained (of course), since before christ was born. meanwhile a show like grey's anatomy gets to be called old because it withstood 19 years?? like that's barely a baby in comparison.
Let's hope he stays like this, because we all know what Hollywood does, I like the that he has many trades and things to do, acting is just one of them. The show is fantastic, my brother and I rarely like the same shows, but we actually binged watch this one.
really weird, it is unbelievable how Jimmy can´t dive into deep conversations, he mocks, laughs and doesnt take it seriously. Gabriel was so honest and humble, it was not to be laughed of
@@carlarenata08 Agree! I also feel bad since it was his first ever talk-show interview and it went like this.. I get that it was funny but it still felt disrespectful and I really hope he doesn’t feel bad about this interview since he did nothing wrong
Jimmy’s right for this being the realest interview he’s ever had. Gabriel’s such a breathe of fresh air from the current actors we see on our screens and their personas. Him not only being a great actor, but a humble guy acknowledging the unsung heroes behind the camera emphasizing the collaborative process that is making a film or tv show. On top of that, being great tradesman with many different skills. He really is fascinating and I’d love for him to speak more on pretty much anything. I really am looking forward to his future and what else he can create for the world.
I'm captivated with how his minds work. He's funny, smart, weirdly fascinating, i sense a bit of innocence too and humble. The fact that he acknowledged that credit & fame is not towards him alone as the actor, but to the crew and team as well front and behind the scene that collaboratively made the show happened and a success, that's genuine humility there.
?? Did (the don't touch me) Jimmy Fallon just reach out and shake somebody's hand... it looks like somebody has a serious man crush on (the oh soooo dreamy) Gabriel Basso.
Society is weird that in itself they don't gaf about the camera operator or anyone else. They like to idolize lead actors. So when they hear all this, they have nothing to do but laugh is a weird concept for them because barely any lead actors recognize behind the scenes crew. Keanu is another one that does recognize the crew.
I think it's more that people who are accustomed to being an audience on Jimmy's show are used to the ways that celebrities act. A lot of pride, arrogance, self-importance, self-promotion, and a lot of confidence that their netflix show really means something to society. And Gabe is just like "it's fun, but, nah. Things that last are important."
I love this guy. He’s funny, but to a certain point I felt bad because people laughed and he wasn’t trying to be funny. I hope people really listened to him because he made a lot of sense, and is incredibly humble.
But, it didnt faze him because he in fact is humble and NOT an egomaniac. Most people would get upset or embarrassed at people laughing at a story that is meant to be a serious point. He’s definitely a super talented dude and very humble.
I love that he went on this show to say “Hey, fun fact! Other people work on television shows too!” I think it’s very easy to tell in Hollywood now adays who’s humble as an actor and who isn’t when they don’t give credit to the writers, directors, and other crew, especially in television.
We need this guy in the film industry! He is actually one of the first people to actually speak out his thoughts in an interview. Most of the time it's just acting. He feels just like the rest of us and not like some distant celeb. Man we need more of him in the future...
Such a down to earth guy. It’s a hard to find people like him nowadays. Well done in the Night Agent, my whole family is hooked. Congrats to the team👏🏻👏🏻
This is a very different guy from a decade ago, if you saw his old IG post 7-10 years ago (before he taken them down), he was such a jokester on set. Maybe that transition from kid actor to teen actor to adult actor really took a toll on him and his mental health, but I'm glad he pushed through and gets the credit he deserves
I liked him in the the Night Agent. Now I am a BIG fan!!! So much clarity of mind and sincere humility. I love how straight forward and not afraid to say the truth he is. He is a REAL person. Jimmy wants to make him weird and fascinating like it is not normal to be sincere and conscious.
"Jimmy wants to make him weird and fascinating like it is not normal to be sincere and conscious." In the artificial world of Hollywood where so much is fake, this guy *IS* weird and fascinating, precisely because he is so sincere and honest in his views.
Oh my GOODNESS!!!!! I have never viewed an actor giving such a soulfully wise and liberatingly honest interview about acting, telling it like it IS, rather than playing the role of a celebrity. This young man has got such an inspiring, healthy and generously humane sense of himself in relationship to other human spirits.
This was one of my fav interviews ever, the way he explained everything was perfect, he was right about how the camera man and everyone else don’t get enough credit
What a humble young man. Many of us see movie stars as super human and above the rest of us, but this young man has his feet firmly planted in reality. How refreshing.

It’s about time someone just seriously and genuinely talks about their experience on these type of talk shows. But even then he’s laughed away by both the audience and Jimmy because honestly, no one is taking life seriously anymore. Just listen to him, he’s trying to tell you he’s just doing life.
I think Jimmy was blown away by his authenticity and laughed bc it caught him off guard. Besides the "mocking vibes' I think he seriously enjoyed talking to him, though.

I have never seen either an actor or Jimmy Fallon interact with such immediate sincerity, unaffected humility, as well as explode pretensions surrounding showbiz as I have here. Mr. Gabriel Basso has stunned me, not because he has pulled the curtain back from the fantasies of celebrity that some actors have acknowledged as artificial conventions of fame, but that he had (and still has) the willpower to depart from such a seductive lifestyle as a young adult, while many of his child star peers continued to chase that never-ending high of fame and fortune, ultimately either unable or uninterested in the "concrete world" beyond their self-contained universe. I'm profoundly impressed by Mr Basso

He immediately reminded me of Keanu's modesty, and then comes the picture of the two of them. That's the best. They should be friends because their way of thinking is the same. I wish him success so much because he seems like a great guy.
I had never pay attention to him before but I just watched The Night Agent like in 2 days lol, it's so GOOD!!! It keeps you guessing, the action is great, the story telling is amazing🔥🔥🔥🔥
Jimmy Fallon actually really enjoyed this interview and so did we.I think that 8 yrs of break from acting while honing his many useful skills helped to ground Gabriel Basso. His humbleness and philosophical take on acting and life reminds me of Keanu Reeves.I have a new favorite actor in this young man. Oh that’s Keanu 😂
Funny how Jimmy and the audience laughing and being "fascinated" by him kinda proves his point about Hollywood/showbusiness being insulated and out of touch with reality. Everything Gabriel said made sense and was spot-on.
I predict he’s going to be one of hollywood top star in two years time, he got everything hollywood and people in general love. Charismatic personality, handsomeness and he can act, too.
The funny thing is that he is so nonchalant to why everyone is laughing. He is just such a genuine guy, first interview I ever seen of him and I love him already!

I love how real he is. Gabe I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for you! I’ll be cheering you on!
I've not watched The Night Agent or anything else Gabriel has been in, but after watching this interview, I now love this guy.
I watched this interview again. Gabriel is one grounded gentleman. So refreshing!
He immediately reminded me of Keanu's modesty, and then comes the picture of the two of them. That's the best. They should be friends because their way of thinking is the same. I wish him success so much because he seems like a great guy.
He's just brilliant...
He is incredible and giving away all his credits to his team .Loved his work I mean his job very much 💕
I loved the night agent!! Seeing him in interviews is so cool. He seems like a really genuine down to earth guy
This is the best Jimmy Fallon interview I have ever seen
I had never pay attention to him before but I just watched The Night Agent like in 2 days lol, it's so GOOD!!! It keeps you guessing, the action is great, the story telling is amazing🔥🔥🔥🔥
What an awesome and genuine guy..I have a feeling he's another Keanu Reeves in the industry.
One of my most favorite interviews. I'm excited about season 2 of The Night Agent. ❤
Wow, what a genuine dude and comes across naturally
I’ll be watching The Night Agent now after seeing this interview! What a deep-thinking and humble guy he is!
U should. It is amazing.
it's a very good show. You'll like the co main actor along him, Rose Larkin, actress Luciane Buchanon did great as well
so refreshing! literally no ego. great guy
Funny how Jimmy and the audience laughing and being "fascinated" by him kinda proves his point about Hollywood/showbusiness being insulated and out of touch with reality. Everything Gabriel said made sense and was spot-on.
This is the BEST interview ever on this show !!!!
This was a truly fascinating interview. Gabriel's made a fan out of me.
Hope his career gets even bigger. He seems so real
His awkwardness is sexy
I predict he’s going to be one of hollywood top star in two years time, he got everything hollywood and people in general love. Charismatic personality, handsomeness and he can act, too.
This is one of the most refreshing interviews I've ever watched. Kudos to you Gabriel, plz don't change
The funny thing is that he is so nonchalant to why everyone is laughing. He is just such a genuine guy, first interview I ever seen of him and I love him already!
A real jack of all trades, truly on the road to everything and mastering the drive smoothly.
OMG I cant have enough of Keanu Reeves now the world will have Gabriel for ages to come. Such a cool down to earth guy.
