You said D and I thought I heard B so I solo'd blues in B and it works but sorta as a mixolydian D and I know nothing about theory but my ear likes playing the B scale (minus a note here and there) and then going into a minior D and the flavor change is palpable! Thanks for inspiring the happy mistakes. Your channel does more than you might realize. :). The very least I can do is not skip through your ads at the beginning! Speaking of which, the start to this reminds me slightly of Beck's take on Goodbye Porkpie Hat.

Yes it is, with the blues scale and all of the notes there in. It can also be D pentatonic. If you are looking at the charts going by, he included every "blues' note on there.
I'm not much of a blues player but I used a lot of mixolydian on this, plus some D minor pentatonic to change things up. Do whatever works for you, man.

It’s just basically the key of D, there are many interpretations possible. The blues does not really lend itself well to straight Western music theory
I'm using D Major penta + blues note (F)... I préfère beacause thé chords are chords or D Major!!
