Just gonna say to those who don't understand what 'Tabi Tabi po' means, It means 'Excuse me' or 'May I go through' if you're walking pass a dwarves territory so they won't curse you. But anyways this looks so awesome and it's animated from a Filipino comic, it very rare to happen so I hope it won't flops ☺️
In this context, it’s asking for respect from the spirits, based on the Filipino superstition, check out Kirby Araullo’s reaction video for a more in-depth explanation! EDIT: just to add, we shouldn’t fear Nunos because in pre-colonial times, they believed that the nunos are actually the spirit of Ancestors that have passed hence the word Nuno I think from Ninuno :)
I remember my brother who really wanted to pee peed on a tree without saying tabi tabi po. Later that day he got red itchy bumps all over his body. He was also barfing all day But luckily it was gone a week or two after Edit : Also it is said to say tabi tabi po to tiny insects or frogs because nuno's might be riding them

so excited for Trese! I'm going to watch it in Tagalog, English and Japanese xD we have vast folklore and mythological stories and FINALLY we can share them worldwide through a big platform like Netflix. as with all things Netflix releases, it's a numbers game, so pleaaaase watch it on Netflix so we can get orders for more seasons, since the Book version is still ongoing, and so many more stories to tell

we are all not used to anime's in other languages that's why the japanese dub version feels a lot more right or just better in general, im a filipino and i agree and totally understand that.
those mythical creatures were Filipino equivalent to Japanese yokai. They also have Filipino counterparts example in Japan kasha a creature who steals and eat human corpse its Filipino counterpart is Berbalang.
Just a warning, if you don’t like blood, this isn’t the show for you as it gets really gory (^^)’ Thank you so much for reacting to our first local anime in Netflix!!
I grew up watching anime more than the Disney stuff. My parents were like " no fairy tales!" Anime is fine. Lol. Having a filipino anime is like a dream come true!

The only downside to English and Japanese dub is that some Filipino words can't be translated very well which is same goes to Japanese dubbing into English. They lost the essence. One good way to get more of the nuances is to see both.
The fact that this anime was dubbed in not only 2 languages but more.

Personally, I don't see this as anime. It feels more like something out of a modern DC animated film/TV series
Same
Same, also the animation and graphics are really good 💪
Kinda like Teen Titans style of animation
for the foreground animations, yes. but for the cinematic backgrounds and even certain shots, its somethin’ else that I really enjoyed.
Probably because Jay Oliva, the exec producer of Trese worked with Marvel and DC.

Interesting how the voice filters are a lot heavier in the Japanese version compared to the Filipino version...
What's a voice filter? Sorry new to this
@@neilkmps Voice effects or filters are basically things that change how a voice sounds like making it sound like an old radio or a ghost.

Philippine folklore creatures are somewhat have similarities with yokai
Yeah but scarier. And a lot of other diverse monsters from different regions in the philippines too
yokai yang shing shing
Because we ara Asian
