Super excited about this fourth round pick! He's a Steeler through and through. I honestly think he's one of the best Edge backups in the league. Feels so comforting to know he's there if TJ or Alex have to miss a game or two and to keep them fresh for the fourth quarter of games.
Happy to hear you talking about his closing speed because it’s exceptional. When he locks onto a target his burst is elite… also, if you look at him, he’s nowhere near mature physically, so I think he’s got a lot of upside to come on the power side of things… he’s basically doing what he did at Wisconsin that nobody thought he could do at the NFL level because of his size…
9:47 enjoyed it. If you ever lacked for material, I think a breakdown explaining 3 end sets would be cool. Disadvantages/advantages, why/when, idk. It’s really interesting to me, like, how often would the 3rd be a spy, blitzer, coverages on TE? Same curiosity with 3 safety defenses honestly. Thanks
This is a good idea. If they lean into a little bit, I’ll def do a video or write about it for sure. Cause it’s something I’m very interested in seeing.
I am pretty confident that they'll get him on the field in 3 edge sets because when we had tj alex and melvin ingram for half the season they did have all three on the field a lot.
Yeah simple... its all there on the tape. he fails at pass Pro PERIODICALLY ...Same as he would in college( control a top pass rusher ...then loose to Issiah McGuire. B Jones putz his head down like as if run blocking(which he is a TOP TIER run blocker) and when he does this... trouble ensues... soup to nutz.. HEAD DOWN
You WONT see ANY PIT affiliated breakdown of ANY B. Jones troubles this season(mean being critical of him) ... He will get a pass... If it continues into '25... THEN THEY WILL take off the kid gloves & do film analytics for you... I am speaking about DB here, Steelers NOW, Noah Stack-n-jack, or DK sports & a few others. These analysts that are CLOSEST to this franchise (other than a Wexall... He will shoot ya straight & he has that.... I say what I want and be damned the franchise getting irritated at me)
I think its really poignant with how the steelers treat their OLBs that Herbig has gotten so many reps on the left side in place of TJ. Makes me wonder if the plan is to move TJ over to the other side to replace Highsmith as Herbig develops? James Harrison has some really good interviews where he goes over the difference in playing each end spot, and how similar it is to an OL moving around. I think that makes what JJ Watt did throughout his career lining up all over the place so special and IMO the best defensive lineman to ever strap on a helmet
another thing I have not heard anyone mention is Benton's development as a pass rusher especially creating disruptions when he is stunting. that sack against the bills from Herbig was beautiful how he attacked the tackle as if he was firing out to run block him - he was already 2 steps deep into his pass rush and starting to set his shoulders to Herbig, sees him move inside and then immediately has Benton on him so there can be no assisted pass off between the G/T. Benton is just so quick off the snap, I cant imagine if they did a 3edge 3rd down package with Benton and Heyward playing 2/3 tech and the third edge almost like an extra off ball linebacker to come from anywhere and overload pressures/sim pressures
By year #4; Herbig will become the best draftee from '23 class. Without #2 TOP #10 OLB's... Herbig would accomplished this by year #3. Atrophy of either HighSmith or Watt rules this time frame, may need to add a year... creates risk of migration out. .

Very excited we got Herbig, he flashes every game! Thanks DB!

He is crazy good for his size especially
DB great as always!
I like him I do believe he will do great things
THUMB UP on this one!
Dude is a stud!
NICK HERBIG BAY BAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wassup DB love your work. JPJ had a great year last year, do you think he's still progressing, and how do you think Donte Jackson is going to do?
our front 7 is unreal.. if we can get consistent play from the secondary our defense gonna be top ten barring injury
Bro he needs to remain a Steeler for life let's be reallll 😭
Curious as to what you all think Herbig’s ceiling is as a pro?
Pro Bowl potential for sure! I think he will hit his prime year 4-5. Hopefully we can find a way to keep him around by then.
Have you broke down Broderickx film I feel like digging into his film tell us more about the issue

🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
It almost sucks he can't get on the field more, having 2 studs in front of him on the depth chart
It will slow potential development...
Frazier next!

Lets hope our qbs are worth anything or he'll be hurt like minka, Hayward, watt & highsmith & others.
I no it’s all about herbig but u c how bad Moore looked on almost every run play he’s poop
