Hi! Im a senior at highschool and im going to study in Germany. Heidelberg is my dream school so i really want to hear some more advices from you. I have done my TestAS so far but the score is not to high, so i wonder if Heidelberg requires good TestAS score or not and... pls share more about your applying process to Heidelberg. Thank you so much!

@@JulienneEsers Heyy our uni does look at the TestAS score and so a high score would be great but there are also other factors the uni looks at like your high school leaving certificate (grades), motivational letter and any other experiences and activities that you’ve done that are related to what you want to study here or just make you stand out a bit. And ofc it depends on which course you want to study here but if it’s medicine or dentistry, having strong academics are favourable like most other uni’s. I’ll try to share some more tips if I can and thank you for tuning in!! ✨✨

Heyy thanks for the comment and sure! So the application process varies depending on whether or not you’re applying as an international non-eu student or not. If you are, you first have to check if your high school leaving certificate is recognised and acknowledged by universities in Germany and if not, then there’s a 1 year programme called the ‘Studienkolleg’, which you would have to undergo. It’s basically 1 year of learning in the German educational system and at the end I think you’d have to sit several exams which would then translate into your university entrance ‘grade’/‘note’. Universities in Germany especially for dentistry, also require a language proficiency test (but I believe if you complete the Studienkolleg then you don’t need to take another language test, I’m not too sure on this so do check it out if you need to!) and some universities also require/recommend applicants to sit an external aptitude exam called the ‘TestAS’. The kind of documents you’d need also vary from university to university so I’d say it’d be best to check out the universities’ websites you want to apply to personally 👌🏼 uni-assist is also the portal through which you can apply as an international applicant to some universities-not all universities use this application portal like for Heidelberg for instance, you’d have to apply per post directly to the Uni. Uni-assist has more information regarding the whole application process so do give it a read if you can.
I hope this helped in some way!! And good luck with your applications🍀🍀
